Very Informative... Shukran....
Welcome
Great work sir
Thanks
For soil-structure interaction, the depht of soil, must be more than 3 Meters. But as an example it is well. Thanks
so depth of foundation should be 3 m?
Plzz make tutorial on rc cad... I want to learn from u only bcoz u teach awsm u clear all the doubts..
Thank uh
Hello, I want to run a MODAL Analysis and calculate the Modes of the structure by simulating the soil as here. Do anyone know why the "Mass Participation Ratio" with this method is too low (5-10%) ? Is it not possible to run a Modal Analysis with this method?
please do this soil structure interaction modelling also in etabs 16.
GREAT SIR GO AHEAD, MAKE MORE ABOUT NON-LINIEAR ANALYSIS ALSO
Could you please create a similar video for ETABS, please?
hello.
we have stresses for Raft (MAT) BUT haven't moments and shear.
i need those parameters to make proper design for raft
Sir, how to draw circular mat with rectangluar soil
Sir there is no option for soil in Sap2000 version 2019 . Can you please guide in that aspect
install sap 22
Sir, I had one question.
With this same modelling process does the software takes account of kinematic interaction for SSI...?
If the software is not taking care of kinematic interaction then how we have to consider the effect this in SSI...?
which version would you recommend for i7 8th gen and 8gb ram ?
for soil structure interaction
Could u please model wrinkler spring model with shear wall also and spring assigning in both foundation n shear wall wall. Thx in advance
Md it is great tutorial sir. You can model the structure with solid model
how to insert steel bars inside soild section of mat? thanks
Sir can you show me pushover curve for this model
Thanks Brother
Welcome
Its amaizing sir... Thank you so much
One question sir, In Mat foundation, we always have to consider the uplift pressure... Can we do it by SAP 2000???
Sir, thank you for that great video. I can't find enough words to thank you.
Excuse me, I've a question. Why did you convert all load combinations into nonlinear cases? Would you please explain the reason why is that necessary when modeling soil-structure interaction?
Soil material has compression only behavior. In any structure if you model compression only or tension only members(like cable) then you have to go for non-linear analysis to find their non-linear behavior.
@@Decodebd,
So what's the difference between modeling the soil as you just mentioned in the video and running nonlinear analysis, and modeling it as linear elastic material composed of 3D solid elements and running linear analysis?!
@@Decodebd Hey, congrats on this video, it is very useful for those SAP`s users. With regards to compression limits in Solids and Shell elements, I was wondering if you have ever had the chance to define them.
Thanks!
@@omarmahdy906 that's a good question. The majority of people think soil doesn't have tensile strength, which is a great mistake just because soil has a low capacity to withstand tensile force as concrete does it doesn't mean you must consider soil behaves in a unique way. However, everyone who is involved in Geotechnical and strutural engineering knows that soil's behavior is a headache, it depend much on several factors.
My opinion which maybe wrong. In case for any problems, nonlinear analysis has to be considered when you need more reliable of service state of structures. For engineers we don’t actually use linear elastic in any case actually because it will not happen for real situation.
But we use codes instead right for design purposes. However, Hi-rise building, wind turbines, offshore structures, etc. are mostly depends on dynamic effects which relates to combine with nonlinear analysis ( 4th order ). So we have to analyze first when we have to solve the “nonlinear problems”.
Great video, thank you. Does SAP2000 only does the Matt foundation? or lets say if I want to do the pile foundation it works?
how to make a pile foundation bro in sap2000
Show some light on Power Spectral Density analysis and Steady-State Analysis.
sir,,, please tell me what the reference in this video ??
Sir please ..make video about analysis of rectangular water tank with ssi and without ssi effect also..... As soon as possible ...plzzz
Is this new capabilities in sap2000?
well this is a great efforts, but i dislike for many reasons, the soil structure coupling isn't that simple, and it might work for coarse-grained soil, but for clay soil it's not accurate, since there're many other aspects you need to take into consideration which are also time dependent variables, second reason is you've modeled the raft as solid element, in any software the solid elements just give you stresses output, which isn't helpful for the structural engineer designer, since the majority of the engineers don't know to interpolate the efforts from the stresses to design the raft section. generally that's good effort and might work for coarse grained soil, and also to change the raft from solid elements which i consider is a bad choice for a section need to be design.
Thanks for your comment. You mentioned lots of reason to dislike but there is not proper reason as I have shown it with sand soil. Anyway you may dislike, I am going to reply your points-
I have shown the advanced material option where we can define time dependent variables according to corresponding data. 2nd, Raft is modeled as shell for design, here as we need to locate raft on soil that's why modeled as solid element. You are accepting as good effort, so that's supporting in a sense. As there I couldn't find any other proper way/reference to go for full SSI, this can be introductory approach for modeling soil in SAP2000, from here we will get more advanced ways in future in sha Allah. In this regard if you can provide any proper reference/way for full SSI, then it will be highly appreciated.
CAN YOU MAKE SAME VIDEO FOR ETABS
Great job sir nice tutorial
Can you make tutorial on safe for all types of foundation design
Thanks. Will try in sha Allah.
@@Decodebd please make videos on other types of foundation as well
Please modeling and analysis powerhouse in sap 2000
Sir, please tell how to vary the thickness of soil/mat
By using Rankine's formula for min depth.
Can i do this on Etabs?
Can u edit the value of E??????
Thanks for the making such wonderful video's And my request to you please provide the excel sheet for the edge and corner footing design and make one video for this type of footing design.
