Harry Baker - Impossible

Filmed in Margate by Jordan Mary for the Amos Trust Christmas event.
I finished writing this poem on the 16th March 2020 and got to perform it once that same day before the UK went into lockdown. It's about not giving up which has felt continually relevant this year !
I've added captions myself rather than relying on YT to guess what I'm saying, let me know in the comments if there are any problems with this.

Great work as always Harry - but, don't forget the famous quote: "This is rather as if you imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, 'This is an interesting world I find myself in - an interesting hole I find myself in - fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. It will never cease to amaze me that people do actually have favourite lines when referring to a poem of Harry Baker, because that to me is what fascinates me most about his poems; they are so incredibly dense, packed with metaphors, play on words, allusions and references, that I find it impossible (hehe...) to pick out even just 5 of my favourite lines :)
