    I see a lot of comments on how ppl want 2 strokes to come back and that’s exactly why I found a mint condition srx700 2 stroke. I’ve heard to many ppl say how they are very reliable and best put together triple. I’ve always had their bikes and raced them and never had major issues cause they have always made really good 2 smokes😃. I love how snappy the srx is also I changed the rear shock with a sx shock which is a little longer and valved differently which made a difference. Over summer I’m going to put yzf450 4 wheeler front shocks in it and do some other things other than that it’s been a very fun sled and fast plus makes me happy without spending over $10,000

    Yamaha really needs to step up their game. I love the sleds personally but with the technology they have they could have a really great line-up. They need to bring back 2-strokes and mountain sleds and use their own chassis. They could offer both 2 and 4-strokes of each category to suit each style of rider. Sad to see such a strong company going down like this. Hopefully next year will be better!

      @@andrewc9234 , I own 2 , Vector and Viper , and the pull and sound is addicting .. For those who are worried about weight of them, You would be amazed what wider skis and bigger lugs will do for the flotation of them... I know this to be true because 1) I don't have groomed trails where I ride. I ride forestry Roads. 2) The snow is Deep where I ride , and they did amazingly well this year after a few changes ... Regarding Price... I agree, biggest reason I did not trade in my Viper LTX DX this year is Price... I really wanted the GT Viper but Dang.... I think over time the fit and finish will continue to improve... And I will say this, 2020 Fit and Finish is looking excellent with new panels...

    Was hoping Yamaha would make 2020 a return year.... Most disappointing line up of all 4 manufacturers this year.... You guys have such awesome tech in the DI 2-strokes!!!! Bring em on!!!

      Disappointing?? 998 turbo. 200 hp? 123mph on snow? Disappointing? killer chassis? are you for real??????

    • @pajamatime5750
      @pajamatime5750 5 років тому +1

      Camaro69 Green I’m not just referring to a single sled in their lineup.... The 998cc turbo is a beast for sure.... I said “most disappointing line up” because they’ve completely abandoned the mountain category and we know Yamaha has the potential to produce top of the line snowmobiles.... Including those with sophisticated 2 strokes.... This watering down of a line up is disappointing from a manufacturer that we know can produce great sleds.

    • @camaro69green31
      @camaro69green31 5 років тому

      @@pajamatime5750 The mountain sled will be back next year for Yamaha. Cat has cut many models as well.... reason being is so the dealers can move the 2019 left overs instead of competing in house with 2020 models that are basically unchanged. BRP and Polaris do the same.... as well as other motorsports.

    • @pajamatime5750
      @pajamatime5750 5 років тому

      Camaro69 Green In recent history I can’t think of a year Polaris, Skidoo or Arctic Cat trimmed a complete segment (ie: mountain) for a year.... Yeah AC reined in their lineup a bit this year, but to help with sales they also limited buyers to snowcheck and have massive rebate incentives.... Yamaha as a manufacturer has went almost 100% with AC built chassis and got rid of a complete segment of sleds.... Again, while I think the sidewinder / SRX is a success. The product Yamaha could produce could be far better then the 2020 lineup!

  • @alexclark307
    @alexclark307 5 років тому +2

    If you saw the picture of the “ Genesis two stroke” that was put out there, I think that we saw the new mtx, but they couldn’t get it into production in time. This would make sense because that picture looked too real, this would also make sense why they didn’t have a mountain sled this year

    • @PartTimeYooper
      @PartTimeYooper 5 років тому

      So just wait "another" year for Yamaha to do something? Sorry...people are tired of waiting.

    • @alexclark307
      @alexclark307 5 років тому +1

      Sean Nelson this year was supposed to be the end of waiting, that’s what I’m saying, they just realized that they weren’t ready for the sled to go into production, don’t get me wrong I am kinda tired of the wait too, but Yamaha will pull through.

    • @PartTimeYooper
      @PartTimeYooper 5 років тому

      @@alexclark307 So possibly 2021 in a first model year so 2022 at earliest before you want to buy one? I mean if Yamaha really wants to re-enter the market, they need whole new chassis, rear suspension (I mean just copy the dang r-motion for cripes sake!) and 2 stroke engines to get customers back. That's a lot to ask to ask for a company who hasn't designed a new snowmobile since the mid-2000's.
      I guess I'll still see some guys riding their now 10 plus year old Apex's hoping for the best.

    I switched from Yamaha to Ski-doo a few years ago. I hated to do it, but they gave me no choice. Last new Yamaha sled I bought was my 02' srx 700. Still have it, and will never sell it. But after a few used sleds, and Yamaha refusing to use their great 2 stroke tech, I threw in the towel. Bought a new 16' renegade, which I like. But the minute Yamaha brings out a new 2-stroke, my ski-doo days are history.

      carl atamanczyk not that heavy considering it’s about 100lbs more than the 2strokes 800’s from other manufacturers and this is a 4 stroke with an extra cylinder. Plus the fact way faster so wouldn’t say it’s an anchor. I have a 2 stroke but would like to have one of these their fast and handle really well.

    These are some badass sleds... Why are so many people downing the lineup? The sidwinder turbos are the best engine in the business and the 1049 naturally aspirated are fantastic as well. Four strokes are the way of the future, why bash it? As far as the collaboration with Arctic Cat, I see that as a winner too. I own an AC XF 7000 and it is a badass sled. I would love to upgrade to a 137” Sidewinder...

Anyone with a turbocharged sled can beat it with some tuning! The rest??? You pull it out every time it gets stuck!
    STOP building the sleds if your not going to build anything the public wants!!!!
    Kids sled, great build it 10 years to late!
    Build a 600cc twin fuel injected two stroke!!!
    Build a 800cc triple fuel injected two stroke!!! For the ruff stuff!!! Call it the SX Viper SS!!! Make it so it can compete in competition races!!!
    Build a 800cc triple crossover and mountain sled!
    Build your four stroke two up and a crossover.
    Build Your utility sled.
    Build your SRX four stroke, but to compete with today’s sleds you had better bump that power up to 250hp.
    Fire your hole marketing team and start over with fresh young ideas!! Because the way it looks, you have a 90 year old woman designing your sleds top to bottom that does not compete in anything other than bingo!
    This is a insult to anyone that ever owed a SRX or SX viper tuned properly with triple pipes and the Ohlins shocks. Not even the apex could keep up to it with 150hp. The SX viper design graphics were far better than anything you have now! I have been waiting for you to build a comparable sled since 2004!! Fire the ostrich running the show! AND GETTO BUILDING!!!! Otherwise I will be forced to buy another manufacturer,s sled. As sad as it is to say. I Really hope Yamaha sees this review along with all the other comments. Truthfully if your not going to change, just flat out stop building sleds. Ok just had to vent.

      @Don Olypopper Skidoo is made in eastern canada and supported by the liberals heavily, no more do I support them and not enough HP. Steering post sounds like loctite fixable or lock nuts.

    I really don't like these yamacats. The reason people bought YAMAHA is because they build the best toys. To try and fool us into riding YAMAHA powered CAT junk is bullshit. I'd only buy a vk professional or vk540 or the rs venture because they are the only real YAMAHA sleds shown here. I grew up on YAMAHA and I looked st kids riding cats like they were the poor kids riding junk. I wont ride junk. Sorry but my blood is blue not green n purple n orange mess of colours.
