- www.serenestamp... The Serene Stamper: TINA ZINCK ~ Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator (CANADA)
Today I am going to show you some basic ways that you can combine pastel chalks with stamping; using our Blender Pens, Sponge Daubers, Q-Tips and with our Versamark Ink Pad (for the Poppin' Pastels technique).
There are MANY others ways we can use pastel chalks and I'll be sharing those with you soon with a couple more video demonstrations (including my ALL-TIME VERY FAVOURITE TECHNIQUE!).
The techniques I'm sharing in today's video are perfect for those new to stamping and the cards are simple (but pretty) using minimal supplies.

Very nice!!!! I love a simple card! These would make a quick sympathy card as well. There are too many videos out there by competitors that are so complicated! Thank you for showing me this chalk technique. I also love it that you get right to the video and are not saying hello to each person that is watching that drags on and on! Keep the simple cards coming!
Thanks Lynne! I sincerely appreciate your comments and kind words!!!! xoxo
WOW Tina......these are amazing! And I thought I was safe and definitely didn’t need the chalk! You got me again, dear friend!!! “If Tina uses it, then I need it”!!! 😊
LOL You're so funny, Debbie. Honestly, my friend, you'll really be happy with the chalks. Then you'll have to use them in our Mystery Stamping Hour! LOL xoxo
I used chalks 10 years ago when I FIRST started making cards. I'm glad they coming back to use.
Me too, Sonia!
Tina, I always LOVE ALL of your cards and videos. I am a Demo but I still learn sooo much from you. Thank you!!! When I was young (9 yr) my artist aunt taught me how to draw ballet dancers and then I would color with soft pastels...I loved it but forgot about it until I saw your video. Going to try it again... THANKS AGAIN. Hugs to you.
What a lovely story! Thanks for sharing it.
Hello Michelle how are you doing today ?
I had no idea you could do so many different techniques with these! Best video!!!!
Rita - stand by, because there are MORE pastel chalk techniques coming!!!! Theyr'e so FUN! xoxo
you are like my favorite person to watch videos for cards. you are so happy and calm. i loved the large pink one the most. tyvm
I have the new pastels AND the old ones too. Never saw the popping pastels techniques before. (Of course there was no UA-cam when I had the old pastels). GAME CHANGER! Thank you for sharing!
I would never have purchased the chalk if I hadn’t seen how easy it was for you💖💖! Beautiful!
Hi Narcy - I think you'll really enjoy them!!! HAPPY STAMPING!
Your demonstration has prompted me to get some pastels and blend brushes. Love this technique, and have learnt something new today! Thank you. 😊
Thanks for sharing how you use your pastel chalks. I've been stamping for years and have never seen the daubers being used. Can't wait to try them.
Hi Kim! The daubers are pretty cool! They work super well with inks too but my favourite way to use them is with pastel chalk. HAPPY STAMPING!
I love your teaching style! I still have my original Stampin Up chalks and you have inspired me to get them back out again!
Love your tips and look forward to the next in your series on the pastel chalks! So glad I invested in them! Thank you so much!!
Hello Joanne how are you doing today ?
Great tutorial! Working with pastel chalks looks much easier! Thank you,
So happy to see these techniques. I've had a collection of soft pastels haunting my drawer for a long time, couldn't figure out what to do with them :) Now I know :)
Hi Ulla! Yes, it's time to take them out of the drawer and give them some LOVE! You'll really have fun with your chalks. I'll have more techniques with them coming soon too. HAPPY STAMPING!
Love it. Yes I remember those chalks I still have them.
Hi Donna! Time to bring them out into the light again! LOL HAPPY STAMPING!
Stunning, I had no idea how to use chalks, beautiful cards. Thank you xx😁❤️
You’re welcome Lynn! You'll have fun with the chalks! 😊
Lovely cards Tina. You’ve inspired me to order these chalks and give these techniques a try. Thanks for your videos of inspiration! Watching from Big White Mountain (Kelowna), BC. Carol
Hello Carol how are you doing today ?
You cost me so much money Tina! I love your designs and techniques, so always gotta buy the things you use! :)
LOL Oops - sorry about that! Hahaha! Some of my friends/customers and I have a private joke about buying a bag of potatoes (because they're cheap, filling and so many ways to cook them) when we're placing big orders LOL. As long as we have potatoes we won't go hungry (because we spent more money on stamps than groceries) hee hee. In fact, I used to tuck potato recipes in with their orders or send a link online for 101 Potato recipes! LOL
@@Serenestamper lol, just so you know... i dont want potatoe recipes :)
I like the one with the versamark just beautiful
Thank you!
Tina, I could never stop watching you, not only because of your beautiful eyes 😍 but because you ALWAYS teach the best cards for real people. The % of people who make professional looking cards are probably lower than we thought. The group I belong to have the motto "awwwwahhh you can tell we tried!!!"
Awww, Melanie, you are so kind. THANK YOU for your sweet comments. I think it's so important to remember there are all kinds of stampers, at all levels. And even though I've been stamping for years, I still LOVE simple cards. I'm glad you're enjoying my videos! xoxo
Thank you for the wonderful ideas using the pastels, your cards are beautiful!!
Thank you for this tutorial, I'm new to stamping and I love what you have done with chalks.

Beautiful channel lovely
Wow! Thank you x x x
I remember using the chalks at club! That was a long time ago! I'm not sure if I still have my chalks, would they still work if I have them?
Hello Lovely Lady! YES! They will still work! Love ya and sure miss stamping with your and your sister. Hope to get to NB when it's safe again. Have fun with your chalks, Darlene! xoxox
My memento stamp pad when using it seems that the black runs into the color, do I have to leave it dry first. Thanks
I see videos where crafters have used their heat guns to “heat set” the ink. I’ve also seen where others have used clear embossing powder to avoid smearing.
What did you call the scraping tool for the chalk sticks that you used?
Could you use heat to set the emboss one?
Your versamark ink you used with chalk and dabbers, is that an embossing ink. Still kinda new to card making and stamping, inks etc. Could you do that with a white ink? Would probably make colors lighter too if you did? I have chalks, would love to try this. Really like the outcome. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Laura - you could try it with a white craft ink but you will love using Versamark ink - it's super versatile!
@@Serenestamper thank you for replying. Appreciate it. Will try it.
