I don't remember Ash to ever use an item in the anime, but he DID often switch out his pokemon at the right times, unlike Red, which kind of compensates the disadvantage of using no items. Plus, if I had been even more realistic, I wouldn't have given Ash Pokemon so high-leveled anyways. Also, the name's 22neptun.

Full restore on Snorlax was in the long run minimal, though it does matter in that Glalie can live a sludge bomb with the hp it saved vs Snorlax and kill Venusaur. It was significant vs Lapras though as leaf blade would kill Blastoise
Dude, I think that Leaf Storm not one hit KO-ing Red's Lapras was definitely a cheat because I once used Leaf Storm against a Lapras using my Sceptile and the Lapras fainted right away and they were both in level 50
Lapras has good special, it was the wrong move to be using, different Sceptiles have different natures evs and ivs its entirely possible for lapras to live this just like its possible for Sceptile to live a blizzard
I was kinda surprised by this one, not because of Ash since he did well mostly but because Red fumbled quite a bit in this one. Glalie vs Snorlax was BY FAR the longest battle and yet not once did Red use Giga Impact. That would've ended the match, but instead it was one Crunch after another. (you'd think Red and Ash mind-swapped for a moment there LOL) Luckily Red snapped back into it and pulled through with full health on his final Pokemon. I felt soooo bad for Sceptile too lol. One Full Restore after another for Lapras. Huh, not nearly as many views or comments as the previous battles. Strange. Oh well, still a good video!

Crits flinches and wakes are part of the game using items in a non story battle isn't. But even without crits flinches and wakes Ash won this fight, Glalie was beating Snorlax regardless and lack of full restore lets it finish the battle with more health than before it can take a sludge bomb and injure Venusaur putting it in range for Aerial Ace kill, it can also hit Lapras making Sceptile sure to finish it off with leaf blade/storm, and round out the match for a win by beating blastoise
I guess this was to be expected. Most of Ash's victories were through unconventional tactics and methods. Moves that wouldn't work in the traditional Pokémon RPG format. Combined with the fact that Red always fully evolves his Pokémon (excluding Pikachu) and has constantly taught his Pokémon a variety of moves, Ash would be unable to beat Red. Ash seemed to really take his training more seriously starting in Sinnoh and Kalos (disregarding Unova). But even then, Ash has lost far more battles due to multiple factors (overconfidence, lack of training, blind faith, lack of conventional strategy). Red's track record includes having defeated the Elite Four and becoming Kanto's Champion, to say nothing of him constantly training in the hellish environment of Mt. Silver.
SSJ Mikey Thanks. I know Ash is far from perfect, but he's far from the worst trainer ever. If he managed to defeat legendaries like Darkrai, Regice, and Latios, he's doing something right. However, Red does train much harder than Ash and could single-handedly clear out Team Rocket bases. Anytime Ash faces off against Team Rocket members that aren't Jessie and James, he's likely to get captured.
guys calm down about the items thing, they use HG and SS for the Red battles, they cant help it if a CPU uses an item or not. Don't get me wrong they could have used items for Ash, but Ash never used items in the anime. Then there's the fact that Swellow woke up after one turn (while the average is two turns) and that made Venusaur faint (because the Aerial Ace got it down low enough to faint from Hail).

Why is everyone saying that it wasn't fair for Red to use items? In case you didn't notice, the first time he healed it was after Ash had gotten a double flinch+crit.
Sonny Garcia Ash's team was lower levled and he can't use Items. The fact that he does not evolve them and that he kept the weak moves is enough of an advantage for red. Make each pokemon be the same lvl as the opponents corresponding pokemon.
To all you haters going on about Red's full restores: This is a hack. It is still programmed with trainer mechanics where red is set with 3 full restores to use when his Pokemon get low.

In his defense, in the video Red uses 3 full restores. Sceptile would've wrecked Lapras otherwise, and would've at least scored some major damage on Blastoise.
Red should win all the battles on paper based on his pokemon being fully evolved, unlike Ash's. But if you're going to do this, allow yourself (Ash) to use full restores too otherwise it isn't a fair right. Sceptile should have won against Lapras easily.
I think the only problem I had with this video is Red spamming Full Restore on Lapras. Typically AI's only use one Full Restore per Pokémon. To see 3 is a tad bit much. Sceptile should have won that round or Ash would have switched out knowing the hail would eventually get him.
How can you lose that way. I also like Red, but losing on purpose, already annoyed. And isn't worth saying that you're not doing it on purpose. I have four reasons that can justify: 1- It is impossible that you may know not to use the types of pokemon. 2- It is the third time that fights against Red and you should already know the Pokémon it uses and its type. 3- Your Pokemon could be stronger (perhaps even 100 but is irrelevant), so you would have more chance of winning. 4- You could also have used items, such as Red used and just will not say anything more, because I will not be bad. But I will give you some advice, if you don't know the basics, then you better start looking or so you'd better get started the beginning of the game to learn how to play.
I will admit that Red healing Lapras twice was a bit lame, but that really just evens up the score from Venusaur vs Swellow, and besides, if Lapras had fainted, Blastoise would've just killed Sceptile anyways. So really Ash got some hax vs Snorlax, and that's about it. Red definitely won fair and square.
Okay from what I have seen Ash would have won in both Johto and Hoenn if Red wasn't using full restore, or if Ash was smart enough to bring some potions of his own.
The only not fully evolved Pokemon on his Hoenn team was Corphish. And it may be true about Sceptile and Swellow, but those are probably his two best Pokemon he ever had. I mean come on, Sceptile beat Darkrai! And I disagree about his Sinnoh team. None of his Sinnoh Pokemon really stood out and made me say "wow, that's a great Pokemon," like some of his Hoenn team did. Like what was the strongest Pokemon on his Sinnoh team? I don't even know.
to all the people complaining about red healing, ash was over leveled with his team, his pikachu lost to roxanes nosepass which is only level 14 in the games brawlys makuhita which was 19 and he has never beaten an elite 4 member at all Sydney the weakest has a level 49 as his strongest. in kanto ash couldn't beat loreli who isn't even level 60 with any Pokemon lost to drake when drakes maximum is 55 so none of ashes levels are accurate.
Same reasoning as the Red vs Blue vid: we feel Ash got cheated because the AI used up all of its Full Restores to give Red an easier time while Ash, a character from the anime--- where items aren't an actual thing in battle--- STILL came dangerously close to winning in spite of that handicap AND the level discrepancy you so helpfully pointed out.
Snorlax could have used rest for recovery and Venisor could have had vine whipe and razor leaf🍂 and solar blast to end it alot could have been done Thunder could have been used too in this vs fight
Ash's hoenn team is still his strangest to me all the bizarre and strange choices on his team were interesting this is the only team I can truly say that their wasn't a star Pokemon on it and it shows as each Pokemon pulled it's weight in this battle Ash in hoenn was a very good trainer not the best but still amazing I feel Ash was doing really well.

Lapras' defense stat is significantly lower than its sp def stat. In this case however, Sceptile was just in overgrow which is why it did more

Crits flinches and wakes are part of the game using items in a non story battle isn't. But even without crits flinches and wakes Ash won this fight, Glalie was beating Snorlax regardless and lack of full restore lets it finish the battle with more health than before it can take a sludge bomb and injure Venusaur putting it in range for Aerial Ace kill, it can also hit Lapras making Sceptile sure to finish it off with leaf blade/storm, and round out the match for a win by beating blastoise

I guess this was to be expected. Most of Ash's victories were through unconventional tactics and methods. Moves that wouldn't work in the traditional Pokémon RPG format. Combined with the fact that Red always fully evolves his Pokémon (excluding Pikachu) and has constantly taught his Pokémon a variety of moves, Ash would be unable to beat Red.
Ash seemed to really take his training more seriously starting in Sinnoh and Kalos (disregarding Unova). But even then, Ash has lost far more battles due to multiple factors (overconfidence, lack of training, blind faith, lack of conventional strategy). Red's track record includes having defeated the Elite Four and becoming Kanto's Champion, to say nothing of him constantly training in the hellish environment of Mt. Silver.

SSJ Mikey Thanks. I know Ash is far from perfect, but he's far from the worst trainer ever. If he managed to defeat legendaries like Darkrai, Regice, and Latios, he's doing something right.
However, Red does train much harder than Ash and could single-handedly clear out Team Rocket bases. Anytime Ash faces off against Team Rocket members that aren't Jessie and James, he's likely to get captured.

Don't get me wrong they could have used items for Ash, but Ash never used items in the anime. Sonny Garcia Ash's team was lower levled and he can't use Items. The fact that he does not evolve them and that he kept the weak moves is enough of an advantage for red. Make each pokemon be the same lvl as the opponents corresponding pokemon.

Full restores use much? That was the only thing that truly saved Red this time around.
To all you haters going on about Red's full restores: This is a hack. It is still programmed with trainer mechanics where red is set with 3 full restores to use when his Pokemon get low.

In his defense, in the video Red uses 3 full restores. Sceptile would've wrecked Lapras otherwise, and would've at least scored some major damage on Blastoise.
At least try using some items, and try switching out your Pokemon once in a while if you are against revives!

Red should win all the battles on paper based on his pokemon being fully evolved, unlike Ash's. But if you're going to do this, allow yourself (Ash) to use full restores too otherwise it isn't a fair right. Sceptile should have won against Lapras easily.
I think the only problem I had with this video is Red spamming Full Restore on Lapras. Typically AI's only use one Full Restore per Pokémon. To see 3 is a tad bit much. Sceptile should have won that round or Ash would have switched out knowing the hail would eventually get him.
How can you lose that way. I also like Red, but losing on purpose, already annoyed. And isn't worth saying that you're not doing it on purpose. I have four reasons that can justify:
1- It is impossible that you may know not to use the types of pokemon.
2- It is the third time that fights against Red and you should already know the Pokémon it uses and its type.
3- Your Pokemon could be stronger (perhaps even 100 but is irrelevant), so you would have more chance of winning.
4- You could also have used items, such as Red used and just will not say anything more, because I will not be bad.
But I will give you some advice, if you don't know the basics, then you better start looking or so you'd better get started the beginning of the game to learn how to play.
I will admit that Red healing Lapras twice was a bit lame, but that really just evens up the score from Venusaur vs Swellow, and besides, if Lapras had fainted, Blastoise would've just killed Sceptile anyways. So really Ash got some hax vs Snorlax, and that's about it. Red definitely won fair and square.

The only not fully evolved Pokemon on his Hoenn team was Corphish. And it may be true about Sceptile and Swellow, but those are probably his two best Pokemon he ever had. I mean come on, Sceptile beat Darkrai!
And I disagree about his Sinnoh team. None of his Sinnoh Pokemon really stood out and made me say "wow, that's a great Pokemon," like some of his Hoenn team did. Like what was the strongest Pokemon on his Sinnoh team? I don't even know.
In my opinion corphish was actually pretty tough but the fact that it only knew Bubble Beam, Harden,and crab hammer kinda sucks

to all the people complaining about red healing, ash was over leveled with his team, his pikachu lost to roxanes nosepass which is only level 14 in the games brawlys makuhita which was 19 and he has never beaten an elite 4 member at all Sydney the weakest has a level 49 as his strongest. in kanto ash couldn't beat loreli who isn't even level 60 with any Pokemon lost to drake when drakes maximum is 55 so none of ashes levels are accurate.

Ash's hoenn team is still his strangest to me all the bizarre and strange choices on his team were interesting this is the only team I can truly say that their wasn't a star Pokemon on it and it shows as each Pokemon pulled it's weight in this battle Ash in hoenn was a very good trainer not the best but still amazing I feel Ash was doing really well.
