They not only sound good but they march like they on a mission. I love it.
I was on the field doing photography when I witnessed the show in 2007 at Honda. I remember looking at one of the other photographers on the field to say, "Are you hearing this?" The sound was almost unbelievable. Of the bands I'd covered over the years it was one of the best shows I'd ever seen. This show is has been added to that list for me. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to capture it via film this time. Hopefully I was able to do it justice.
Wow! You actually did do them justice. They are very good band and their director should be very proud of them. Wish I could have been there to see them in person. Continued success Norfolk.

Never heard an HBCU cover Dave Brubeck’s Take 5 before...made me smile.
This was simply awesome. They went from a 4/4 time signature, to 5/4 to 3/4 and back to 5/4. Great job Legion and great work video team for capturing this.

This program has been a favorite of mine for many years! The musicianship and dynamics are always there, and I love the energy. They captured me years ago with a trumpet section solo that was off the chain.......AND I'M A DRUMMER. Keep on grooving NSU!
Even as a Marching 100 alumni, i always had alot of respect for these boys. So much intensity and fire here. These boys are always very consistent no matter how big or small they are. Great collegiate sound here hands down.
I love NSU and have felt they are one of the highest quality HBCU bands out there. This just shows their prowess as musicians, and entertainers.
MD was killing it. Them bass drum runs were clean as hell.
It so good to see The NSU Spartan Legion back. This coming from an AGGIE.

I'm definitely feeling Norfolk State! I'm a huge fan of Jackson State and it refreshing to see originality and them doing their OWN thing and not emulating Jackson State like a lot of bands do ! Keep up the good work 💪🏾🔥🔥🔥

This has been there style since the beginning. Nothing hasn't change. They keep the traditional going.People are just now finding out. Everyone in VA know they are the best Collegiate band. Even the Corps style college bands emulate them.

Thanks man, that means a lot. You know like I know we all put a lot work on these clips and thank you's are rare (at least for me they are). This was one of the best shows I've seen in a while and probably some of the better footage I shot that night. The cool thing with this one is I feel like I was able to capture it the way I experienced it, sight and sound. It was a helluva show.

Yeah, definitely learning the value of getting help on the shots. Getting the hang of this multi cam thing and like you said, its definitely an art. Getting more comfortable with the work not necessarily being fast, but something that at the end of the day I'm proud of. Multi Cam's a work in progress though.

This is a bad band with an awesome sound. One of the best shows I've seen lately. I love me some S.U. but ya'll need to watch out for NSU fo real though. Keep up the excellent work u guys.

I'm sorry, but NSU doesn't do it for me. They sound so crisp and clean tho!! To MDFS, please change your snare heads. Only thing you hear is the Tonals majority of the time.
Now idk if the mic was on but they lil ass was loud and clear. Not fond of they marching style. Quite a few people where off beat. Nice sound but still SWAC all day.....
Awol Dixon appreciate your compliment. However when you're accustomed to seeing only one particular preforming style it's easy to feel that way. I love JSU SU Miles and Bama St for what they do which is good ol fashion SWAC style blunt blowing and dancing which is pleasing to me. However you must admit that the Spartan Legion is a trend setter and is quickly rewriting the status quo STANDARD for COLLEGE BANDS HBCU OR OTHERWISE. Programs like TENNESSEE ST AND NC A&T are starting to incorporate these principles into their perspective programs. All and all I love HBCU bands and there is no better way to get an education. Much love. BEHOLD BEHOLD THE MIGHTY GREEN AND GOLD!

NSU is a mixture of corps and traditional style. TnST is a Traditional style band.

Ant Bone I don't understand this komment either. And SU is one of my top 3 favorite bands. The one thing I do know about NSU is they do not preoccupy themselves with what other bands have started or doing. They work hard at their own Kraft and style which is original.
Kool Kharisma they do have there own style just like Su i just wish for Nsu they would get more credit in there conference
NSU does not and will not ever sound like Southern... they have too much integrity for music than to always blast their instruments to be loud as can be...that’s not what this band is about... they strive to put out outstanding music, nothing less and that’s what I love about them!!!
