In November 2010, homebrew guru Jamil Zainasheff broke news to Brewing TV that he was opening a commercial brewing called Heretic Brewing Company. Three months later, the brewery is nearly ready to start producing beer. One would think Jamil would have no trouble raising capital... he's well known as one of the best brewers in the country; I'd expect many would leap at the opportunity to finance his start-up.
