I have seen and/or mixed literally thousands of live bands and The BellRays are still my all-time favorite live act. I've had the good fortune to be employed on a few of their tours, first as a roadie and later their sound-engineer. I've seen The BellRays perform roughly a hundred times since 1998 and I've never seen another band outshine them. In fact, I have seen other legitimately awesome bands worry about going on stage after The BellRays because they knew they couldn't surpass them. Truth.
I first witnessed the BellRays when they played the grass near the UCR bell tower in '93 or so, and I was instantly a fan. I love the fact that it's nearly 20 years later, and they're still doing what they do, and doing it so goddamn well. There's that old saying about how cockroaches are the only living things that can survive a nuclear holocaust, but I'm pretty sure the BellRays would be right there with 'em, rocking like a goddamn motherfucker. LONG LIVE THE BELLRAYS! ROCK 'N' FUCKING ROLL!!!
knowing them since 3 weeks - today i saw them live - one of the few really really great, true rock shows, i´ve ever seen. What a blast. (They deserved sooo much more success. It´s not a shame - it´s a sin - looking at the counter) THANKS!.. ROCK SHOW - ;-)
Tell you why: Mainstream Radio is blocking your ears with shit loads of one-and-the-same. It takes a lot of work to find the gems beneath the rubble, mate. Glad you found it. ROCK ON!
