How to make a Laser Cut Resin Octopus Tentacle Table, Cutting Board or Coasters

Today, we're going to show you how to create a stunning masterpiece by laser cutting tentacles as a mock up for coasters, cutting board or even a table embedded in epoxy. It's not as hard as it looks. You can use a laser engraver, cnc machine or hand cut on a scrollsaw.
New to epoxy resin work? Not to worry, I will put a link to some tutorials that will get you going below.
We will be using some scrap 1/4" and 1/8" baltic birch and a food contact safe epoxy resin like Totalboat Tabletop that is BPA and VOC free. Add eye catching colors with a good quality pigment powder and acrylic paints. Find a material list and tools with links to my favorite products below.

Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating (I like Shellac better)
Acrylic Paint (We used Winsor & Newton Galeria Titanium White, Cerulean Blue, Winsor Blue and Payne's Gray)
Acrylic Inks (We used Daler & Rowney Aqua Fine Phthalo and Cerulean Blues)
Epoxy Adhesive (We used a 2 part 4 minute epoxy from Totalboat)
Gold Paint (We used Totalboat Total Gold)
Small silicon brush or plastic scraper
Protective Nitrile gloves
Sandpaper (220 grit)
Isopropyl Alcohol

Toothpick

Hand Sander (like a Festool Rotex Sander)
Air Compresser with nozzle
