Alfas shouldn't search for fellow Alfas' faults. Even if the Imam of Ogbomoso, being a human, makes a mistake, you can call him out without abusing him. This does not align with the teachings of our prophet Muhammed SAW.
It's obvious that all of us don't like to hear truth once it's against our deeds. If we limit ourselves to a certain level of education all because we can be an Imam which is mostly lineage titles in our society. Or we have forgotten that not every Alfa can become imam. But most build him/herself to the best standards in order to be relevant in the nearest future. "My take"
Imam Ogbomosho knows what he is saying. It is because most of you are thanawiyyah graduates that you have found it difficult to understand his point. No matter what you learnt at thanawiyyah level, you cannot learn what is taught in the university. No matter how good you are as a thanawiyyah graduate, you can never equate your knowledge with a university graduate. It is true that people do say that thanawiyyah graduate in the past can be equated to University graduate today. It should be clear that this is a mere fallacy of hasty generalization. A half baked university graduate will definitely not be able to display good knowledge but what about a full baked university graduate who displays sound knowledge? You cannot just generalized. There are good university graduates and there are bad university graduates. You don't have to say all university graduates. Most importantly, because you are not university graduates, you will not be able to appreciate it. Most of the afas relegate university graduates because they never attended a university. If you attend a university, you will know the difference between thanawiyyah and university. So, Imam Ogbomosho attended a university, that is why he has been able to spot the differences. I need to see a university graduate that will dispute what Imam Ogbomosho has said. I have never met imam Ogbomosho. I am not his fan especially because of the way he has handled his case with Shoun Ogbomosho (my opinion though). But my submission is based on my understanding as a university graduate with many years of research experience. Above all, note that the only thanawiyyah certificate left being defended is that of Mudiru Markaz because of his status and perhaps the reason most people consider what Imam Ogbomosho said as insult. May Allah give Baba Mudiru long life and prosperity. When he turns 150 years and dies, no one with reckon with other thanawiyyah certificates because the world has gone beyond that.
