We ordered our Altmill yesterday and we are told that we should expect delivery for January. I get the growing pains of small business but having customers wait 6 months is a little crazy. This is when you scale up production so you don’t risk losing potential sales to your competitors. As a small Canadian business ourselves, we want to support another Canadian based small business while encouraging innovation, having said that this is just our 2cents worth regarding the risk associated of having a customer wait for unacceptable receiving times.
In the short term, yes we will lose customers because our production can't keep up and lead times will be long. However, we believe that taking our time in production and assembly for our first batch will make sure that the overall quality and experience in the long run is as high as possible. It's our plan to scale up production in the next 6 months so that we can reduce lead times.
Glad to hear AltMills are shipping. Looking forward to getting mine. For the panel computer, really hoping you can sort out a reasonable cost for a Windows license. While I'm comfortable using Linux, I think for compatibility reasons Windows 11 makes more sense in this situation.
I noticed that pwnCNC has a 220v spindle. I may be mistaken, but I believe I heard in a separate video that Sienci was sorcing spindles from them. You could skip the spindle kit and order your own separately. They had 1.5kw and 2.2kw options.

My longmill has been running about three days a week for two years. Very easy to maintain and use. What a great tool.
Thanks for your feedback! It's great to hear your enjoying it!

Altmill is a top contender for my first CNC. Just trying to decide if I need a 4x8 or 4x4! Do you all have plans for a pro-sumer level 4x8 machine?
Thanks for the question. Not in the immediate future, but perhaps a little further down the road!
Looks like great machines,if only you had a 230V version....hope that might be in the future 🙂
Second that... There are ways though

@@IronJmo Great info, thank you I will look into that 👍
So.....is the spindle kit officially compatible with MK2/slb?
It sounded like they were working on it but not currently.
@@ASMguitR We will have a LongMill specific kit and instructions coming out very soon, stay tuned.
@@SienciLabs I await with anticipation
my longmill broke 2 years ago and is just sitting there collecting dust, what a waste of money.
What went wrong with it? What attempts were made to fix it? How was their customer service?
sounds like a troll comment
