Great video Should get mine in early October. You lucky first 50 should be required to make videos every day for those of us counting the days down. Thanks again for all you do.
Congrats on getting your Altmill! The Pre order was during lunch so I just watched the email and got my order in. I was 10 Seconds after the first one! Thank you for your support! Take Care!
Great advice to any new AltMill owners. AltMill is a pretty advanced machine. The research you do now will make life easier when you start your AltMill journey.
Thanks, great video, great ideas. Appreciate your sharing. I am a brother of the 1st 50. I had hella trouble with the g sender config. Made 2 awsome projects. Love the AltMill. Fired it up the next day, wouldnt home. Started working with Jason, he left on vacation. Daniel stepped in to help and my E Stop button died. New one wont arrive till next week. In spite of all that. I am stoked that we, Brother AltMill owners, own a point in CNC history that will be remembered. Thanks again for all the sugestions and sharing. Great job. Rex Templeton aka Wood Cutter @ IDC live stream wednesdays. Peace Out
Hey Rex! Thanks for the comment! Yeah, startup was a bit frustrating but Jason and Daniel were great! I have been working with them (Sienci Labs) for over 4 years now and they have never disappointed! Great Company full of "Go Getters" ! One of the reasons I own a Longmill. I have stopped in on a couple Wednesdays with Garrett's Live. The guy has a ton of knowledge!! Thank you again for supporting what I do! I really appreciate it! Take care!
I enjoyed your video review. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your set up. You put in a lot of hard work into the build and it shows. I'm very interested in getting the dust hose holder for on top the spindle you have made and thanks for sharing the links for the pc , monitor and mount.
Awesome video. I can't wait to get mine in sept. I have never operated a cnc. Or to be completely honest even a computer. So yeah can't get any fresher to the cnc world as I am. Iv been watching every video I can on competes. Vector v carve and on the altmill as I can find and it is all sooooo confusing. But I will not give up. I have a buddy that Is trying his best to teach me. Thankfully he has patience. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can figure it out. Sept will be here not soon enough
It's a touch screen monitor with a mini computer running windows and gSender. I explained this towards the end of the video. I also added links to where you can purchase in the description. Thank you for watching! I really appreciate the support!
Bucky, terrific video! I'm on the waiting list for my AltMill's delivery sometime later this month or the next. A few comments: 1. Why didn't you hang your hose directly over the centre of your spoilboard instead of off to the side? 2. As regards laptops in the shop, all I've ever done is cover their inlet ports with gauze, taped along the edges. Easy, peasy! 3. On a separate note, you're absolutely right that a 4" dust boot, if connected properly to a 4" flex hose, will work very well... assuming you've got it connected to an adequate dust collection system. I'm going to connect my AltMill to my shop's Oneida Air Systems central cyclone dust collection and know that it'll be far superior to anything I've experienced with my Longmill Mk1 (which I've already sold)
Thank you for your thoughts! As I said in this video the hose location was just temporary until I got something more final put together. Great tip on the lap top gauze!!
I will add you to the list! Thank you! The mini computer works like any other computer with windows so you can just download from sienci.com/gsender/ and click on Windows to start the download.
The mini computer works like any other computer with windows so you can just download from sienci.com/gsender/ and click on Windows to start the download. I will try to make a short video on it but, honestly is quite simple.
I would also like to know this. I have a hard time with reviews where the reviewer has been supplied with a free product. As soon as I see a review where the product was supplied free of charge I go to other sources for information.
I really, really wish sienci would release a 2'x4' version of the altmill. I'd buy one right away. I only have about 2/3 of a one car garage to use as space so getting a 4'x4' in there would mean getting rid of my tablesaw.
Have you ever had any hands on with the oneinfinity elite, I will not be receiving my Altmill until Dec. I love my longmill 30x30 but have a few jobs coming up that require more space (48x48). At first I thought I could wait it out but not sure I can. I love everything about Siencilabs but might have to go in another direction. If you could let me know if you have had any experience with One infinity it would be greatly appreciated.
@@BuckysCustoms Yes I did consider the 48 axis for the 30x30 but like the idea of getting away from the wheel guides and plastic backlash. I cut 100 % hardwood, so if I am going to upgrade I would just like a tougher machine. The more thought I put into it I keep going back to the Altmill , that machine fits the bill to a tee and at a great price.
Thanks for mentioning the 48" upgrade as that got my wheels spinning again. After sleeping on it and not wanting to leave the Siencilab family I have decided to upgrade my 30x30 and add a spindle and super long board to it. Then over the winter expand my shop to accommodate both the 48x30 and an Altmill. So maybe by this time next year I can add the Altmill.
There ya go! Excellent idea! I have carved a TON of hardwood with my Longmills and will probably carve a ton more before I am done! It will all work out! Congrats Michael! Thank you for your support too! Cheers!
At the very least, you could upgrade your spindle to one of the 65mm routers like the makita, carbide create or genmitsu. That alone would be a huge upgrade. Then just save money from projects made with the 6040 until you have enough for the altmill. That's my plan.
Thank you for the walkthrough. I’m really interested in the hose bracket. That’s good thinking 🧐
Awesome! I will put you on the list! Thank you!

Thanks, Bill!

Thank you for the awesome video. Altmill is my choice just waiting for funds. Thanks again.

Thanks for the update. Maybe one day, just don’t know if I need to speed things up in the shop.

It’s always nice to hear from you Buckey!! The touch monitor running G sender is a remote monitor from your PC or is the monitor running Windows?

Great video. Very interested in upgrading my CNC to an Altmill. Full disclosure, did you buy the machine or was it provided by Sienci?
The #Altmill is huge upgrade from the longmill! Only positives so far! Get yourself one!

If a motor cable is unplugged the controller receives an alarm and stops the machine...theoretically
It Should for sure! Thank you for correcting me on that. Appreciate your support!
jeepers i wish i could afford one of these. i just have a little 6040. with a 300w spindle. i could get sooo much more done so much faster.

I totally understand! Although, The Altmill is super priced compared to other machines in this category!
@@NWGR noise from the router would be a bit too much for my situation. I may go for an 800w
@@Kathyoftheglade That's a solid plan! Slightly more power than the router and quieter as well.
