Bennett is still a legend in Motorsport and Still winning. Brundle clearly had an advantage in F3 against Senna, the difference in their careers when they got into F1 was day & night. Brundle never even won a race despite getting drives with Benetton and Mclaren and Senna went on to be one of the all time greats and three times World Champ.
At face value you are right up to a point. But there is far far more to Brundle's F1 career than that. Same applies to Johnny Herbert and any other highly talented driver who continued in F1 having recovered from career altering feet and ankle injuries in the days of manual clutches and pedals.
I was fortunate to witness that F3 season .Senna got pole position in the first nine races and won them all .he had a dnf at Silverstone and qualified second at Oulton park .A duel with Martin Brundle led to them both going off .I think he ended up winning the championship by a single point .He definitely didnt like finishing second . RIP TO A LEGEND
One of the few realistic non political people that was truthful about Senna, was James Hunt. Hunt had an eye of a tiger and was enormously brave and knowledgeable unlike Murray Walker and other F1 politicians who were more into labelling Senna.
Interesting how History is repeating itself. The British press and media detested Senna but when he died they praised him from the rafters. Now they're in detest mode again with Verstappen, all because he stands in the way a British World Champion.
So agree. Hunt was a brutally honest commentator. And he could speak from the perspective of a champion. Truly underrated back in the day as a commentator. Very keen to also educate the audience on matters F1. I always appreciated that as a teenager watching my hero Senna.
Incredible story about Ayrton Senna. When he receive his 2nd or 3er Championship he said to all the kids , Brit kids, that he is a truly British pilot. The must important part of his career was in England. Nice story by a great Brit Engineer.
Couldn't agree more. It's not even her fault, Sky should know you can't have someone like her interviewing about an absolute legend of all motorsport not just Formula 1.
UK media are obsessed with Ayrton Senna. Every year without fail their is yet another story on Senna and what made him a champion. How about more features on local boy, Nigel Mansell?
Why send the box ticker? This could have been done with Damon, Nico or Anthony, dudes that actually raced in F1 that would have got so much more out of this.
Naomi just doesn't cut it...She really should just stick to non-broadcast F1 team promotion & presentation duties, or do an internship with Radio Le Mans' John Hindhaugh to learn how to be an interesting & insightful motorsport broadcaster.
She said "turn the cameras off" at the end there, cause I think she wanted to talk about why Jake Hill wasn't disqualified from Race 3 at Silverstone, due to being caught red-hand for what he did in the Reverse-Grid-Draw.
No matter how unfitting the interviewer is, it does not give you the right to insult people. Seriously, get over with your own complexes, life's too short for that kind of stuff...I say that with all the respect I owe you as a person though.
if you wanna be truthful, Senna's accident was actually so stupid, and caused by his own ego. The day before a pilot died the same spot, but he wanted to show he is bettter. He is overhyped.
Is this the new season of the flash with all that phasing on the mic.. You can do better! Such a legendary man to interview but suchs bad equipment shame in you
That man is what motorsport should be. An absolute legend. Senna was great too.
Senna would have been great if his big, fat ego hadn't got in the way. Not in the same league as Fangio, Clark, but could have been.
Senna is the GOAT!
5:38 - for Senna, the guy who finished in the second place was actually the "first loser".
Come on Sky, the phasing between the mics is shocking.
😭
and i thought my sound drivers were bugged, refreshing video, refreshing browser... Now im ok thanks :D
Could also hear the clicks of a MacBook trackpad pad near the start… nice touch.
@@mikeharding1016 Ironically I did sound for Mike Harding once. Managed to avoid phasing too 😄
What a wonderful interview I recall west surrey racing way back to 1974
Great interview, great stories of the past. Thx Sky
It's a pity he never mastered the ability to allow himself to come second, if he did he may have avoid the 1994 fatal crash.
This was great ! Thx 🤘🏻🏁
What a wonderful interview, peppered with episodes and background knowledge. An absolute pleasure, many thanks to all involved
Ayrton Senna the legend, what a guy and driver it was, very very special

No, he wasn't great. Any sportsman who deliberately pushes out another competitor to win any game, race, competition or championship can not be great.
Whoever did the sound YOU HAD ONE JOB! 😂

You would think Sky would be eager to post about one of the best weekends in F1 history? I wonder why?
they are just as salty as Lando if not more
Go away.
Senna is priority always

Really great interview, a shame the sound is a bit ‘off’..
A bit? 😮 😂😂😂😂😂
gg on mixing out of sync audio.
Somebody at WSR told me that he used to call DB 10gauge. Thick and difficult to work with.
😁
Something off with the audio or is it just me?
Sounds mildly.. robotic?
Audio picked up on two mics causing phasing. One of the first things an audio engineer is taught how to address.
Senna was an extreme driver! GOAT 3:40
Great questions!
I temember watching Ayrton driving Formula Ford at Donington, streets ahead of anybody else
Great & insightful talk, just too bad for the robotic voices :p
Oops .. was Logan Sargeant on sound?

She was an ex race-driver. Don’t be so fast to judge 👍
@@jeremysnow3030 I'm an ex rally driver, I would be crap at interviewing people.
The audio is atrocious
Putting this aside to watch at a later date, when I'm less likely to be irritated by the poor sound quality (mic phasing I'm led to believe).
The sound is off it’s hard to listen
apart from sound great interview.
why do the mics sound so horrible
She wasn't the right person for the interview.

What did she do wrong ?
@speedmann194 I just cringe when she's asking the questions, bit like a robot, nothing flows.
@kevinharker1840 thank you! I despair with sky sports these days.
Silverstone has nothing to do with London?!?
No. Silverstone is 116 kilometres, (72 miles) from London.
Was the interviewer alive when Ayrton was driving?
No
UK media are obsessed with Ayrton Senna. Every year without fail their is yet another story on Senna and what made him a champion. How about more features on local boy, Nigel Mansell?
Mansell wasn't as good.
Because Senna is the GOAT and Mansell was boring.
Why send the box ticker? This could have been done with Damon, Nico or Anthony, dudes that actually raced in F1 that would have got so much more out of this.
Straight away after Max masterclass... go to Senna, so you would forget what happened this weekend?

she's a racing driver after all in the first place
A box ticker
DEI interviewer. Unbearable.
i know, pathetic these liberals are disgusting

Sounds like max hes talking about.
Get her off the screen and put nico in that seat
🤫 There s nothing wrong with the car. Hahahahaha
