The size of these 70's Eldorado coupes is astounding when you see one in traffic, then you can't believe automobiles were ever really so large. Don't fall in love, Anthony!
Anthony and Papa, this girl is Absolutely Stunning. BEAUTIFUL. When I was 15 they were everywhere. Brings me back to better days. I love this Cadillac so much. !!!! Thanks....
1976 was the last yr for the 500, 1977-78 got the 425. You’re correct, it’s an E body just like the Toronado and the Riviera, Riviera being the only E body that was RWD- until 1979 that is. 1979 they all got downsized and Riv joined the other two as FWD cars. They are smooooooooth. I have worked on so many of these throughout the years. I love ‘em. Love that she has the train horn sounding so good on her too!
@@jorgealvarado3512 good question. In this year (1978) it would DEFINITELY be the Toronado XS. That wraparound rear window along with the other Toronado features was just excellent. Olds 403 engines were also solid torquey smooth performers. For ‘75 or ‘76, I would have to have an Eldorado Biarritz, or possibly the Bicentennial Edition convertible. All of the Eldorados from 1970-1976 had Cadillac 500 under the hood, the 425 for 1977-78 is a smaller bore example with same general architecture. And finally, if we’re talking 1970 or 1971… I’ll take a Buick Riviera please. Distinctive styling in both model years.
We owned a 78 Eldorado with a sunroof - white with white seats and red carpet and dash. It was a great car, fun to drive, and got lots of attention! Whoever buys this will have a great time with it!
My uncle had this color combination on his Seville. It was absolutely stunning. So elegant and classy. The color combo is also incredibly beautiful on this Eldorado. These were the days of beautifully designed automobiles with each model having its own distinctive style.
My dad had a '76 Eldorado with yellow paint and landau roof but he had the chocolate brown leather interior. It was like riding on air. Absolutely magnificent car !!!
My grandad's last one was this color, 1980, 4 door with the green velour seats...he passed just after that Christmas and a dear man bought it for a deal 6 mos old. I saw a completely trashed one here like yours here but with the same green interior my grandpa had being used last year and so having been wrecked and trashed and I am so happy to see one in this shape to get that out of last memory of one..hard to admit it has been a while..class of 77 HS here,,,sigh. This is just well that butter color..so beautiful...the green interior was even elegant then,,lol..he always ordered them. I had no idea how finding you would just..they are soothing when all was right with the world and worries were minimal memories. I think I am aiming for a newer something I will drive that you have,,but the comfort and fair prices...why buy the trash out today. I like the Marquis you sometimes have and Lincolns and Buicks as well..but the Cadillacs..when my grandpa retired he had several and those memories,,,he had a standing order for 2 cases of maple syrup from Vermont all the way here to Montana and I wrapped them for 10, then 25 cents and later 50 cents a can and we delivered them all together and he sang old songs to me in the car...snow or sunshine. Always total comfort.
I've got a triple white one with red accents on the interior. Absolutely love it. It also has the astro roof. Good luck with selling it. It's like riding on the cloud.
Absolutely beautiful, back when Cadillacs were Cadillacs. I with you Anthony, I love that yellow paint color too, especially on 1950s cars. I don't what it is about, it just really pops. Great video!
Straight land yachts??? This thing is an aircraft carrier... And it's absolutely fabulous!!!! I adore these rides.. I love the giant button Tufts in the leather ... It's glorious!!!!
Here she is a BEAUTIFUL TRIPLE YELLOW ELDORADO. Nobody could miss you cruising around in such a big classy CAR. Look at the interior you could take a nap on that couch. Don't forget that purple hat in the back window YES it goes to the new owner NO CHARGE. Papa 🐻
Hello Anthony & Papa Bear, this luxury land yacht is spectacular!!! I absolutely love the triple yellow color!!! Back in the day my boss had a 75 Eldorado convertible that was the same color inside & out with a white top!! I really like the color keyed wheel covers!!! Thanks for sharing this exciting video!!! 👍👍🙂
Friend’s dad was retired , bought a nice blue Eldo Biarritz. All the trim is original on this colonial yellow ( banana yellow?) beautiful car. It is amazing those fillers Can be replaced and look just fine.
God I love your love for Cadillacs. That 78 is hot . my mom had the triple cherry red one. She was cut off by an old blind man and that was the end. I currently have a 1988 Eldo with the red on red with white top. Take care friend i love your love for the car I love. I was told when i was sixteen ( when i got my first one ;lol ) i was told if you vcan workj on a Cadillac you can work on anything. Aint that the truth. Chris
This car reminds me of my dad's friend Pete, Pete owned the local Cadillac dealership. He always drove a yellow Biarritz Eldorado., I remember him driving one just like this.
Dated in a girl in the late 90s who's dad was s Cadillac Man. Owned 5 or 6 including one like this. The father hated her boyfriends but only liked me because I owned a 83 Coupe on hydraulics. Real Daytons with 1 & 1/4" whites with E$G Classics sim con roof and grill. The triple yellow on any Cadillac was gorgeous .
OMG ❤ This is one of my all time favorite cars and color combinations! One of my dream cars! Other than a 1981 Neptune Aqua Deville, triple white '92 Brougham d' Elegance, '56-'76 ambulance, & '56-'60 Formal 75 limo, this is my favorite Cadillac! Im drooling over this one!
Hey Anthony, I had the opportunity in my youth to drive this same model, color, year El dorado, my best child hood friend drove one as his daily driver. What a special vehicle it truly was. Unfortunately being a daily driver and being a New Englander she eventually rusted away. Thanks for bringing back some great memories. Hope all is well with Papa bear and the family ❤
38:50 Would be nice if you could do a feature video of early FWD Eldorado with wider angle shots, that shows how the transmission, drivetrain, and differential wrap around the engine oil pan and front suspension. I am not too familiar with FWD vehicles with an inline mounted engine. 39:05 I see starter, bell housing, and weird thing is part of tranny pan seems forward of the bell housing. Appears the oil pan has a drain in rear and another in front part up higher.
I don't know if you noticed when you were leaving the parking lot on the way back to the shop you were behind an electric Mustang Mach e. Talk about about a generation gap. I'd rather have the Eldorado.
In 20 years the Cadillac will still be on the road! Heck in 10 years it will still be around long after that E garbage is parked in a lithium landfill! 😂
My dad had a bunch of these and Lincoln growing up. How do u find these beautiful pieces of art? Love this. I gotta get a garage put up. Nj weather will eat this up if it's outside. Wow what a car
Hey Guy, love the Eldo and Marks from the 70's also ! Can you refer me to a good trim shop for padded top repacements ? I havent been able to find one in the South East.
While I was viewing a 95 Fleetwood I ended up buying, the seller also had an Eldorado that was the twin of this vehicle. He tried to get me to buy that car, too, and I was debating it, but the yellow wasn’t really for me. I’ll admit, though, that this is one of the few vehicles that color actually looks reasonably good on. Someone also painted the vinyl top to “restore” it, which I found odd. I will say, though, as the owner of a bunch of old comfy Cadillacs already, I was nonetheless very impressed by the super-plush leather. It was basically like the d’Elegance interiors of the mid-70s Devilles and Fleetwoods, but those didn’t come in leather and I never liked the look of the cloth on those. I have a 76 Fleetwood with black leather and wish the plusher leather interior of that Eldorado Biarritz was available for that year, but in black, of course.
I have never met anyone that loves Cadillacs like I do. Will buy one, one day from you. This 78 Eldorado is BEAUTIFUL
The size of these 70's Eldorado coupes is astounding when you see one in traffic, then you can't believe automobiles were ever really so large. Don't fall in love, Anthony!
They need to bring back the big coupes
Personal Luxury Coupes definitely need a comeback!
Agreed, 4 door 'coupes' don't add up!
@@t.b.g.504 4 door coupes are nice too, but Mercedes for example slowly discontinues those two actually! in 15 years only SUV will be sold!
I can barely hear the engine as you accelerate. What an absolute dream. I would love driving this from the east coast back to Oregon. What a pleasure.
Hey Anthony and Papa Bear nice Cadillac Eldorado old school👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾
Thank you Steven she sure is. Papa 🐻 & Anthony

Out of the 3 which do you prefer?
Me personally I really like the Olds Toronado

She's gaw geous!!! A true land yacht.
OMG!!!! This is a dream yacht!! And yes I do remember the yellow Cadillac's were absolutely gorgeous!! This is one of the most beautiful cars!!
I had a 74 triple black Coupe DeVille that I miss so bad. It drove like a dream

That is a Cadillac!
You should be playing music by Curtis Mayfield while you are in that car! He did a lot of the music for the SuperFly movie!
"Diamond In The Back" immediately springs to mind as far as a CM "soundtrack" absolutely perfect for this car is concerned. :) lol

I agree, this is my favorite 70's car too! I wonder why the lights on the door isn't working? Hopefully the bulbs just need to be replaced.
Burned out incandescent light bulbs. Put in all new ones and should solve it
Would love to see that in Triple Black on Black!
That does look good! Also, red with white leather inside
This is my dream car!!!!! Absolutely in love with the yellow You should have worn the pimp hat

Yellow Cadillacs should have white interior, other than that WOW!
Love it!
Gotta get those cars out, Anthony. Worst thing you can do is let them sit.
I love the color I have a 79 coupe Deville I believe the color was called cream puff yellow from the factory
The rub strips on the bumpers were gray from the factory.
425 was a great engine, better than the 500 imo..
I jave the same in triple blue. Love it
28 inch gold spoke Forgionos would go perfectly with that triple yellow
