Bhaiya, are the hostels air-conditioned in IITM ? If not, how does one cope up with the environ since Chennai has an extremely hot and humid climate?

No buddy, none of the hostels is air-conditioned. Yeah in summer time it's horrible to sleep. I keep two pillows to switch 🤣 because you will sweat like any thing in tower hostels , though old hostels, new Mandakini hostel and girls hostel ( Tunga and bhadra ) have good cross ventilation).

The advance booking in taramni guest house is very tough. I have always booked hostel for family members , it is easy and convenient, economical also.
