Jonny, THIS is not a coincidence. I was at the doctor when you released this video, at an appointment for stress-related health issues. Every single second, word uttered is 100% me right now. And your video is not a coincidence, it’s a message that SO many creators need to hear and must follow. Thank you for creating this message. It’s been heard loud and clear. If I may, I will also add that I can often create burnout for myself when I am not following a plan or strategy. The extra effort lost in trying everything, being everything, doing everything to “test” an idea or concept creates so much extra work, energy output, and I end up turning the hamster wheel with no purpose. Ultimately, I am at fault for not slowing down, or stopping/pausing, to put a plan in place. It’s a horrible catch 22 and I thank you for again for this honest video.
I can totally feel that need to try and experiment with everything! It's exhausting but I think certain brains need that exploration. Hope you feel better soon, keep well!
Every time you upload a video and I watch it, I must say, thank you Jonny, I really appreciate your work. Timing of uploading this video up is something, rn going through massive burnout, I hope if I get some time to rest, it will get better.
As far as landscape/nature photography goes, just a change of scenery does me wonders. I live in a beautiful part of Alaska, but you can get bored seeing the same stuff every time you go out. It sounds silly, but getting myself to a new place kinda gets my head in a new place, too 😅
I've been stuck (burned-out) for three weeks now. My job/income is separate and doing fine - so being creatively stuck is ok. I think it was triggered by lack of interest when I post to IG and by having other things that I really need to do taking up all my limited free time. I'm targeting resuming my creative work by January. Hopefully before then.
Good timing. I am currently in burn out mode with my photography. My usual go to is to try a different kind of creativity. I also know what triggered it. I blew out my knee for the third time in a year just a couple of weeks ago while on a photography trip. I ended up not photographing what I wanted and actually cancelled a camera order because I decided I don't deserve a new camera. Maybe I will try the setting a date to re-start.
Good advice, good timing, great tips. And also just the recognition that burn-out is also a thing for creative people. Creativity, stress and pressure don't sit in the same room very happily. Yes. Exactly that. Winter doesn't help either.
Awesome video! I've been in about a year-long slump myself with my photography. I know I'll get back to it, I've got some things in motion including a dedicated studio space. I'll get back there, it's just a matter of time. 👍🏻
Stopping to enjoy other pleasures of life, committing to that for a days, days, a week is surprisingly refreshing. Great identifiers.

Thank you, I appreciate that. Hope you feel better soon. It really creeps up on you.
Thank you so much... I needed this ❤

It also sounds like you need to go easy on yourself too! Hope your knees feels better.
Solid words. Thank you. ❤️
Thanks!
I always get burned out in the fall/winter.
Same, I have greand plans for Autumn colours but usually get swamped.
Amazing Video as always
Thanks mate

Before 2019, I had about 4 years without doing any personal photography. I was totally burned out doing corporate events.
