Agree with your points about overheating in 120p - this is just a theatrical challenge from people that don't even own a camera and are just talking themselves out of buying a real camera vs the cell phone. I don't own a 'real' camera yet - just an old Lumix FZ1000 and looking for the right time to pickup and a6700 - however, I don't waste time arguing for unlimited recording in 120 fps.
First they argued about no 30 min record limit. Then demanded uncropped 4K60, now demanding unlimited 4K120 10bit 422, when that happens they will demand unlimited 8K240 17bit 4:4:4, finally the will demand 1000 TB hard drives to store the unlimited 8K files. Me? I'll keep shooting in 1080 24/30/60p and uploading to YT.
On my last shoot I shot 4k but ProRes LT and 2.7k on my drone. Client could not see the difference.
I would GLADY shoot in 1080p50/60 BUT ZV-E10 / A6600 are HORRIBLE in that mode. Laziness or deliberate marketing? A6700 in 1080p is a bit better but not great either. Video stills can be compared at dpreview and rtings.
What are the options for good 1080p50/60? The Sony S-series. A7s3 is astronomically expensive, the A7s2 loses articulating screen, 4k50/60, 10bit 4:2:2, HLG, PDAF, is not that compact.
RX100m7 is also pretty good at 1080p50/60, dunno if it overheats then. Low light suffers immensely of course.
Panasonic GH5 is great at 1080p50/60 as well but crappy AF and smaller sensor, limited fast wide lenses.
Shoot in UHD25/30p and use SmoothVideoProject to double frame rate? Processor intensive and danger of artifacts. Haven't tested tho.
always concerned with suction cups falling off and with age and dust become less effective. Solutions: maybe magnets could be super glued / epoxy glued to the fan and that is how it would attach to the camera - kind of like magsafe on iPhone. Also, a spring clip hinge could slide into the hotshoe area and maintain light pressure on the fan I think someone will come come up with with some similar fan solutions. Also, fan does not really need to attach to the camera would probably work with a 1 inch gap - just need air flow. Could have spring mounts between fan body and camorra to hold fan in place.
I wonder if using a thin metal heatsink, kinda like something you'd use on an SSD would work so you don't need the fan. I haven't bought mine yet to test the theory.
Hello buddy. It was a very useful video. I bought an a6700. Unfortunately, due to the temperature rise, I can't take long non-stop videos. In your opinion, I can have about two hours of non-stop filming using the Olanzi cooler? Because I was thinking of selling the camera and buying a7c. Thank you for your help.
Hey, thanks for your commment. The fan is helpful for sure. I was able to record until the battery died and when I had the continuoous power plugged in, it ran until the memory card filled up. And Ulanzi did release an updated version of the fan that seems to not fall off. The older model would fall off so I use a rubberband to keep it from falling off. The older model is much cheaper in cost than the newer model. The fan will help with the rise in the heat.

I put mine on my X-S20 and i left it on there to see how long it would stay. I made sure that the suction cups were cleaned and I made sure I had the sticker they provided on there.

You did get the firmware update and your camera temperature setting is set on high, right?
Yes I did the firmware update and the setting is set to high
Unfortunately you can't charge the Tilta. So I went with the Ulanzi that gets about an hour on one charge.
Is the Tilta fan battery operated?
@@thesonyaps-cuser no it's not. That's the only issue with it. You have to plug it into a power source.

Revisiting this, I probably will never use these fans. The R6 shoots for plenty of time before even starting to overheat if you’re in 24 frames per second. The fans are more of a hassle than anything and don’t prove to be much of a help in my opinion.
Are you using the 1st or 2nd setting on the Ulanzi fan during your test?
I was using the second setting
As a viewer I dont have much faith in your reviews if you post a video titled a guaranteed fix for overheating and then a month later post a video showing a critical design flaw. That should have been in the first video. You gotta do more in depth testing of products otherwise its useless.
