I love the layering of sounds you have in this video. It really brought the whole story alive. I’d say this is one of my favorites of yours. And, as ever, I’m learning a lot from the way you tell the stories. Just the other day I went out for a day walk in the rain the mountains behind my home here in Japan, with my camera and two omni mics, and tried to keep in mind the things you’ve said and the techniques you use. It makes for a very rich (though sometimes need for patience) connection to the places I walk or climb in, especially with sound. I never knew that recording sound could bring you so close to the living world! You’ve opened up a whole new way of seeing the world for me, though I still have a lot to learn. But that is exciting, too!
