Indonesia has also accommodated many refugees from Iraq, Afghanistan and Rohingya before, but because of the previous bad behavior of Rohingya refugees, many Indonesians do not respect Rohingya refugees because they do not obey local rules, many run away from shelters, commit crimes, are dirty, and badmouthing the facilities in Indonesia, you can see that when yesterday they landed again in Indonesia, they were given food and clothing, but instead they were thrown back into the sea,,
The case of Rohingya refugees is very complicated, don't look at it from one side, from the humanitarian side we know they need protection, but there is another side that you need to understand why the local community ultimately rejected their arrival. 1. Their arrival was initiated by human traffickers. Everyone was asked to pay by these individuals if they wanted to go to Indonesia, but several of the perpetrators were caught by the police. 2. This is not the first time they have anchored in Indonesian waters, perhaps dozens of ships have anchored and each ship contains 100-200 refugees. 3. do not have official documents. 4. The nature of the Rohingya people who are not grateful for the assistance we provide, in fact they always feel deprived and they throw some of the assistance we provide into the sea, while the local community is still living in hardship. 5. There has been an increase in criminal acts committed against local residents by Rohingya residents, such as cases of rape and theft. that's why we refused their arrival.
@@johar_35 Let me remind you that Indonesia is not a signatory of UN Refugee Convention. They have no obligation to accept them. If you love Rohingya so much, please volunteer to take them in yourself , into your house. International IOM does not cover 100% cost for refugees mind you , in fact they only cover very very little. The Rohingya problem is mostly bad behavior, criminal violations, running away from refugee camps, not respecting local cultural norms. For example in Malaysia, people have resisted because of bad behavior and criminal acts but remember most of the Rohingya are not all behaving badly. Remember not to blame your ethnicity, race and religion if people make mistakes but blame those who do wrong. Not all Pakistanis support the government expelling Afghan refugees.

As an Indonesian I do emphatize with the Rohingyans, I understand that they don't have a place to actually live and just exist. It's honestly very sad, at least the Palestinians have a home to fight for, the Rohingyans don't even have that. I doubt after the rebels win in Myanmar they'll be accepted back. I also understand and emphatize the concerns of my Aceh brothers and sisters. Having a huge influx of refugees in such a short amount of time will always lead to chaos and trouble. I hope they'll eventually find a place that accepts them, be it back in Myanmar or anywhere else and can finally just live normally.

Myanmar can handle 600k. bangladesh can handle 1million. mayalasia can handle 150k. how come Indonesia is having a hard time with just 2000? they are the loudest out of all of them
@@Ramxie35 Basically, we always had some form of anti-immigration mindset. Heck it doesn't even need to be immigration, even moving from one region to another as Indonesians can cause issues. We had a whole fiasco back in the day when there's this "emigration" program to try and move more Javanese to the eastern islands. With that in mind, we have a hard time accepting immigrants regardless where they're from and why they're here. One of the main causes of it is the economy, we have so much manpower but few workplaces so to see someone else possibly take "our" spot is not a good pill to swallow. It's further amplified by covid where most people lost their jobs and the use of Chinese workers in big road construction projects, the media and social media personalities took the angle of "look they're taking our jobs, then they'll take over our lands, and then our government and we'll soon be slaves to them". Now going back to Rohingyans the main concern is it's too much too fast, so it's a security concern coupled with a population that dislikes immigrants. The media is also playing with the angle of "these are bad ungrateful people that ran away from refugee camps and they're dirty cause they ruin the camps" and those things are true, but the media always fail or rather chooses to not take the context on why these things are happening so it's very easy to equate Rohingyan refugees as a negative thing. Though honestly those 1.152.000 people *should* go back to Myanmar, it's their home and it's the morally just for them to go home instead of being refugees.
We accept these illegal immigrants well but their behavior is very bad, And we are aware and learn from Palestine who accepts refugees and then takes the land that helps them.
Help them? The Jews are from Israel. Palestinians didn't accept Jewish refugees. That is their land. Don't even compare the two. Average Indonesian Muslim always making everything about Islam.
This is not Myanmar's fault. It's a leftover problem of British colony. They brought millions of people from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan for cheap labour force during their colonial period. No ethnic group in Myanmar recognize them as one of us. We see them just illegal immigrants came from those countries. So, just blame British for all consequences.
Indonesia has done the right thing to protect its homeland, don't let the Rohingya claim their land as has happened in Malaysia, the UN should return them to their place of origin.

1:30 Exactly, three years ago locals in Aceh accepted these Rohingya refugees in defiance of instructions from Indonesia’s central government who were wary of potential implications. Now some of them are acting this way as they have gone through numerous negative experiences with the refugees. It is a complicated matter, and as an Indonesian I can’t blame either side. I just hope that the government would be able to come up with a solution to help the poor refugees without hurting local sensibilities in Aceh. 🙏 I also hope that the Acehnese would also learn a lesson from what transpired, to not always take everything that comes from the central government with prejudice because this thing with the refugees could’ve been avoided if they were not rash with their decision three years ago to let the refugees ashore. Now, this incident has given the entire country Indonesia a bad name as the world see us a nation that heartlessly pushes back hopeless human beings back to the sea.😢

The Indonesian people refuse because: 1. Their status is illegal immigrants, not refugees 2. UNHCR only brings in illegal immigrants, without handling them professionally 3. There is no clarity about their origins, pure Rohingya or Bangladeshi (indications are that there has been a large-scale infiltration of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh whose refugee status is clearly impossible) 4. It is indicated that it is a crime of human trafficking 5. They ran from the Bangladesh camp not from Myanmar, and strangely they can speak Indonesian. 6. Indonesia is not a signatory to the 1951 refugee regulations, so there is no obligation to accept illegal Rohingya immigrants. 7. They pay money to enter Indonesia 8. Their goal is to find work and a better life 9. UNHCR and the Indonesian government were not transparent regarding funding and costs while they were in Indonesia 10. Signatory countries that are obliged to accept refugees can still refuse entry to Rohingya refugees, such as Australia, Singapore and European countries. 11. The arrival of immigrants is suspected to be a conspiracy from foreign parties and the domestic government for certain purposes that could endanger state and social security. 12. problems with the attitudes of immigrants who are not in accordance with the social norms and customs that apply in Indonesia.
As far as I know, Bangladesh has made a place for them to stay and seek refuge but they refused because they'd have to work for food and money (pls enlighten me if I'm wrong) that's why they refuse to leave Indonesia because the people of Aceh takes care of them but they are not grateful and they don't work at all.
Bangladesh already host more than a million Rohingya people, despite being a small country and not economically developed. Rohingyas in Myanmar have been prosecuted and killed and their houses/villages have been burned for the last 30 years or so. Rohingya are ethnically closer to Bangladesh and India... Surprisingly, why do Rohingya migrants go across the Malacca strait? Malaka = Mleccha = Melaka = Meluha = foreigners... This is the title given to Indonesian ancestors especially for Saka-Yavana-Daha-Kediri (Sunda-Javanese) and Malaya-Kamboja-Champa (Malay) ethnicities... We have cultural differences with India... Our unifying figure is Aji Saka/Ajiwaka/Ajivaka... It's different from India... Let Indians, Rohingya-Bangladesh, Cholamandala-Tamils stay in India/Jambudwipa... This separation is immortalized by the name of the Strait of Malacca, the strait that separates the archipelago/Nusantara/Sunda Islands from mainland Asia... Our concept of bumi mandala is also different... Our past civilization is centered on Mount Semeru/Mahameru in East Java... It's quite ridiculous... Their ancestors (present day India, Pakistan, Bangladesh in Jambudwipa) exiled our ancestors (Saka-Yavana-Daha-Kediri, Malaya-Kamboja-Champa) out of India, but we have to accept their children and grandchildren... Strangely enough, they (Indian) are the ones who label us mleccha but they are also the ones who need help... It's been more than three times... Aji Saka/Ajivaka, Maurya-Kalingga, the Cholamandala invasion, and now the migrants from Rohingya... Because of Cholamandala's invasion of Sriwijaya, the center of Buddhism for Southeast Asia (Archipelago) was moved to Borobudur from Nalanda... So why must we accept Salafi-Wahabi-Takfiri, the Ikhwanul Muslimin, and supporters of the caliphate from India and Bangladesh? Let the people of Jambudwipa (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) solve their own problems regarding Rohingya...

It also does not put into consideration that Indonesia government is quite in a mess right now, with the election coming up and lack of leadership, it is just too much for the people to handle alone.
They escaped from the refugee camp of Kutupalong, in Bangladesh. They were refugees in Bangladesh. Why didn't they stay and follow the rules there? Why didn't UNHCR and IOM have them to accept the Bangladeshi people's rules?

Though honestly those 1.152.000 people *should* go back to Myanmar, it's their home and it's the morally just for them to go home instead of being refugees.
if u actually learned the history, they are bangladeshis@@55rz55
We accept these illegal immigrants well but their behavior is very bad,
And we are aware and learn from Palestine who accepts refugees and then takes the land that helps them.

Good indonesia 👍 fight for yr lands before they take yr lands & making yr country unsafe anymore bcause they had bad habit which is no respect local people after they get in yr country.
I also hope that the Acehnese would also learn a lesson from what transpired, to not always take everything that comes from the central government with prejudice because this thing with the refugees could’ve been avoided if they were not rash with their decision three years ago to let the refugees ashore. Now, this incident has given the entire country Indonesia a bad name as the world see us a nation that heartlessly pushes back hopeless human beings back to the sea.😢
Don't Listen to the Outsiders
because they're don't know the Real Problems in Aceh

The Indonesian people refuse because:
1. Their status is illegal immigrants, not refugees
2. UNHCR only brings in illegal immigrants, without handling them professionally
3. There is no clarity about their origins, pure Rohingya or Bangladeshi (indications are that there has been a large-scale infiltration of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh whose refugee status is clearly impossible)
4. It is indicated that it is a crime of human trafficking
5. They ran from the Bangladesh camp not from Myanmar, and strangely they can speak Indonesian.
6. Indonesia is not a signatory to the 1951 refugee regulations, so there is no obligation to accept illegal Rohingya immigrants.
7. They pay money to enter Indonesia
8. Their goal is to find work and a better life
9. UNHCR and the Indonesian government were not transparent regarding funding and costs while they were in Indonesia
There’s a reason why they were kicked out of Myanmar.
@@gustavusadolphus1714 you got it, bro.
You cannot expect them to behave in a sophisticated and civilized way when their whole life was about surviving. Many of them had to flee with only what they're wearing. I hope, our fellow Muslim brothers in Aceh would show sympathy and tolerance in the spirit of one Ummah. Today, Rohingya are in difficulty. But tomorrow Allah may put another Muslim nation in difficulty.

INDONESIA BUKAN TEMPAT BUAT ROHINGYA YANG TIDAK TAHU TRIMAKASIH.
The problem is that Indonesians do not have the economic capacity to help them, humanity is expensive. When tourists make mistakes we tend to be more forgiving, even to legal and illegal Chinese workers because they work. Meanwhile, refugees without money and not receiving education from their country have to compete with society when Indonesia's economic conditions are unstable.

its not about economic difficulties really. lots of rohingyans has landed in Aceh since 2015. and the locals welcomed them. at the beginning, the locals still helped these new comers, spare their meager food n clothes for the rohingyans. but then the rohingyans showed their ungratefulness. that was what made the locals angry
