Iris and indium are compatible, try and experiment with different versions of the mod but also different versions of fabric loader. You really need to sit down for a while to get mods working together with each other, sometimes can be a short process sometimes not.
Chunky has some problems where it crashes as soon as I use any number larger than 999 for the radius. I tried using it in multiple modpacks and it crashes my game every time. I can load 900 chunks, but when I enter any number over 1k and wait, it just randomly crashes. I hope the dev knows of this and has some ideas of how to fix it.
I tried to do this, but even with 64 gigs of ram with 24 gigs allocated, I always max it out and chunky stops generating. How do I stop it from using so much ram?
Minecraft Java uses a system called Garbage Collection (GC) to manage RAM. When you allocate more RAM, the garbage collection has a larger memory pool to scan and clean. Making each GC cycle take longer, leading to lag. No matter how powerful your PC is, allocating 8GB RAM, is usually the maximum you’ll need, even in heavily modded Minecraft; any more could hinder performance, resulting in a lower fps and performance. Lower the amount of RAM you allocate to 8GB
I’ve been doing this but it feels like it’s freezing at a certain point and making any progress. In the process command it keeps saying the same shit every time and doesn’t go higher in chunks or percentage. I got many mods but I wonder if there is one causing this to happen
The way I do it is i first get my world gen mods so chunky, big globe, and distant horizons. After rendering the chunk I want, I then add my additional mods later.
@@luisdossantos9595 It’s not fully compatible, but I got nice results with it. If you have some understanding of data packs, you can combine the Lithosphere data pack version with JJThunder's To The Max data pack; the result is also quite nice!

am I doing something wrong? I downloaded and put all the mods inside the mods folder, and I made it use 6G (I also tried 8G) Ram (I have 16) but chunky mod or distant horizons doesn't work on me, only big globe works.
@@JbuildsGaming it doesn't crash the mod doesn't work, I mean only big globe works when I open the world, but distant horizons or shader do not work. also I have 4080 super so I don't think it's about my CPU.
I’m not to sure then, I never had issues like this. Normally when I install fabric or forge and then put mods into my folder it either crashes notifying me about a certain mod causing issues or it launches and works. I would recommend double checking if every mod is the correct version of your fabric or forge Minecraft version. Also make sure the mods are the same version of your launcher. If that doesn’t help you can join the iris and sodium community on discord and they have distant horizons channel which could potentially help you out.
No, most likely not, not with shaders atleast. That card is worse than the card he recommended at bare minimum. Besides, it’s as he said. This is far more CPU intensive than it is GPU intensive. GPU’s mainly help with running graphical improvements such as shaders and textures. Chunk generation occurs within the CPU which is where most of the strain will be.

turn off distant gen and set cpu load to minimum after generating every chunk otherwise the game stutters a lot
