Hey i'm the wife! And I have to say you describe that single barrel to perfection. The singularity of the barrel aging in Lurin, almost a desert, made that dark amazing single barrel. We have others that are not as dark, but they are as singular or more, my favorite is 265... no more of those for sale, just two in my closet. Thank you for your amazing review, we would love for you to visit us at the distillery. Cheers!
Hi Daiana. Sorry if we only referred to you as "the wife". This was such a crazy whiskey in both palate/nose & color...glad we finally got to the idea that the climate is what drove how dark it is. Thank you for making such an interesting and enjoyable whiskey!!! Would love to visit the distillery but I don't see a trip to Peru in the budget this year but I will discuss it with my co-hosts. Thank you for reaching out...CHEERS!!
@daianamilonmayer293 @exploringwhiskey My girlfriend is from Perú and her dad flew to Lima to grab the 2022 version that won the award when it was announced (I'm sure he had other business there too haha.) Unfortunately her ex got into the bottle last year and there's only about 250ml left, but I just tasted a couple nights ago and it's delicious. I can see why it stood out in competition. It's a 700ml bottle interestingly enough since it's not the imported version, and 90 Proof. Lot 2022-10. So it's probably a lot different than what you're tasting on this review - this one isn't as dark as what you're describing. I'd love to try other versions though.
Funny you should mention Starward, as I am now sipping Starward Nova. Life can be so weird. Nice review!! A whiskey from Peru, who would have though. I am so intrigued that I will seek out this whiskey. Thanks for you channel. You do travel to some very interesting places.

Felicitaciones, es obvio que es un buen producto. Y si compré una botella cuando regresé a Perú. 🎉

That's funny! If you decide to purchase, make sure it's a single barrel...heard the normal stuff isn't great.
interesting, i' m going to Peru soon.
See the original comment from one of the founders of the distillery. I'm sure you could reach out to schedule a tour! Cheers!!
