- Model train fair at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg, NY.
Featuring the Niagara Orleans Model Railroad Engineers HO and N scale modular layouts.
Including an fully operational rotary coal dumper, that was scratchbuilt by hand piece by piece!! This coal dumper is a faithful replica of the dumper that was located at the now decommissioned Kintigh Generating Station in Somerset, NY. The Somerset coal hoppers are also equipped with rotary knuckle couplers to make this model fully operational!

How were the cars loaded?
On that day, the cars were loaded with the magical Dixie cup.
One of the club members does have an operating flood loader that he brings to some shows.
I also scratchbuilt a dumper and about 20 years ago found Doug explaining his rotary couplers. I used his description to make mine. Tell him thanks for me.

Where can I get an n scale rotary dump
I don't know if any manufacturer has made on in N scale. If you want one you may have to build one from scratch like the one in this video.
there is a Walters kit you can buy that has the rotary dump, however it is not motorized, and the programming and such would have to be done custom, hope this helped
