Incredible Quality bro!!!
Appreciate it man!
What Im looking for, theres ways to handle the issues mentioned. Thank you for sharing I have long wished for a review on this! Will be getting one!
Thanks! Would love to know your thoughts as well!
Great vid!
Thanks lots!
Great video
Thanks!
The other problem I’ve seen with the aputure one is that it only works with the light storm line of Aputure lights. Not even their Amaran line
Ah that is interesting! Is it because the Amaran line cannot support the weight of the Spotlight Mount?
I am looking into the spotlight se that amaran just came with that should work with all leds that are up to 300 watts.
Yep, that one looks super solid too!
Thanks for the vid, I’m looking at the same two options. From what I’m finding it seems like there’s a lot of light loss using the snoot. Have you found that to be true?
That is something that I actually have not tested! But if I’m remembering correctly, there’s not much light loss when the aperture is wide open. When you close the aperture on the shoot to create a smaller shape, there definitely is light loss.
Looking to buy something like this now as I am setting up a home studio. Something i see on this product is that you cant get the light in focus at th e top and the bottom in this video.
So has me a bit worried.
Some options like a more expensive one from Wellmaking has a canon EF lens mount, some have light shaping via geometry inserts, etc.
So overall would you say skip this one and grab a different one?
I think if you have extra budget, it would be worth it to go with a higher quality spotlight mount for your lights.
BUT this is still really great for minimal money.
All in all, I just use this for personal work and use others for paid client work....
thanks for the review! Does this snoot cool or heat well?
The cooling is decent, but I wouldn’t trust it with anything more powerful than a 300watt LED light.
What is the lens size attached in the snoot?
I am actually not really sure? Here is the product link and it has specific dimensions listed so hopefully that will tell you what you need: amzn.to/3JrlWQp
This is what I'm looking for. But unfortunately not available in my country (Germany).
I would even go for the Aputure - but that is nothing I can fit into my camera bag.
As I only need a compact solution for my round strobes, I will build my own projector with bowens on one and a standard EF mount on the other end. That will easily fit into my bag :)
Thanks for inspiring me :)
That's so awesome! I wouldn't even know where to begin to build my own, so huge applause to you!
@@paulhuenefeld Thanks. It's done and already working :)
@@smartintech2 Nice! I would love to see that!
@@smartintech2show us what you did…
I have other cheaper snoots, and I’ll give them a second chance to see what sorts of shapes I can create
@@paulhuenefeld looks like I cannot place a link to my insta post here..
The eye zoom at the end. So are you still happy with this product or have you found a better one?
Hehe! Yes still happy with it! There are definitely higher quality products, but this is still a really great bang for the buck. The price difference between this and say the aputure spotlight mount is most compelling feature haha
is the size of bowens mount universal?
Yes it is 👍🏻
@@paulhuenefeld so I think it will work with my ad600 pro as it has bowens mount.
No venting. that's going to get hot. Probably too hot for a 150 LED or more.
It actually doesn't get too bad! There's plenty of airflow because it's not completely sealed. Like the section where you insert the gobos is open all the way around. Now, I definitely wouldn't use this on anything more powerful than a 300watt LED haha!
