Best Jeanist being alive does discredit Dabi a little bit, but not a lot. First off it does not discredit any of Dabi’s past and what Endeavor did. Second, Hawks showed a body to Dabi and Dabi responded that he wasn’t sure if it was really him, but it does mean that he did kill someone. Hawks had to kill someone to gain the trust from the league. It goes to show what the Commission will allow for the overall “betterment of society”. If the Commission allow heroes to kill who they deem necessary to kill, how will citizens react to the news that essentially no one is safe and anyone of them could be killed. Also, I don’t know if you caught it, but Hawks’ father is a criminal who was arrested. In fact we even saw him in a flashback in season 5. In the episode where Endeavor fights Ending, it flashbacks in the beginning of the episode to where Endeavor is handing off a man with red hair to the police. We hear that that man’s name is Takami. And we now know that Hawks’ name is Keigo Takami. The Commission and Hawks hid his past and basically lied to the public. And Best Jeanist being alive most definitely does not discredit what Hawks did to Twice. No one can deny that Hawks is a murderer. And as for your question for what happened in the forest, well you’ll just have to keep watching to find out.
Who’s to say it wasn’t someone that happened to die around the same time? Not hard to dress a body in the same clothes.
