    Nothing about us without us.

Another thing to pay attention to when vetting organizations is whether they are autistic-led and run. A quality org will proudly show that their board is at least majority autistic.
I also have a playlist of autistic creators talking about autistic topics. You're one of many creators represented in the playlist. If people want to find AA creators, I've been working on making that playlist a good place to start for almost a year. 🙂

I'm so happy youtube recommended me your channel! I'm also autistic/adhd and I'm glad you covered this in a quick but informative way.
One thing that frustrates me about "awareness" is that most people are only aware of a very specific autistic presentation, and it makes things really rough for those of us who don't fit that presentation. Like, I'm a hardcore masker and if I'm not overwhelmed I can do a really good job of "performing" (not that I'm not awkward and anxious, but I think most people nowadays just think I'm quirky-- but I also hide a lot of myself and they don't know how intense my internal processing is). But I think that, by pushing acceptance, maybe we can show that autism isn't all about just suffering and that a lot of our suffering is from society or external factors. And with acceptance maybe those powerful NTs can stop focusing on a eugenicist cure and focus on helping our quality of life and representation.
    Happy Autism month!
