Bee Gees wrote so many great songs. And I can't imagine anyone but Bonnet singing this. The Marble's '68 version is amazing. Graham still has an amazing voice.
Ive only just found out that this was Graham Bonnet. Love this song. How many years later?
What a voice.
I think Graham Bonnet has been one of the greatest singers since the late 60s....Loved this song in the 60s...And still love it today...
he also was great in the disco era, with warm ride, and its all over baby blue, and shannon?,and then went to rainbow, tho he had a hard act to follow after Ronnie dio left, another great singer
That voice is amazing
I heard this in the early seventies on one of my parents compilation albums and was blown away by his voice and power and started singing from then,,,,,,, 50 years later still in awe of his amazing voice
Pretty awesome performance considering his age. I saw Graham perform It's All Over now Baby Blue about 12 years ago and boy, he's voice is one of the best. Thanks Graham for the years on outstanding music.
He's not a young man any more but still sings with the same passion and soul. A delight still to hear Mr Bonnet and what a timeless song thank-you. In the same time and league as Tony Christie a different generation of class singers and a very rare breed these days.
David Jackson are you his mother
Well done Graham your millions of fans still love you
After this hit 57 yrs ago he still hits those notes… amazing!!
Amazing song amazing singer!!
Great to see Graham has still got the voice to sing a song in that higher range,A lot of singers from his era don't even attempt it.
Ive never known how he got that high when he was young. And it's a bloody good effort now. Great record.
Awesome!!!!!! To still sound like that!!!!!! God bless.
OMG what a voice
I heard this song in 1970. I loved it
Still got a hell of a voice.
Must be about 70 now so what a performance!
Sang in the original key. Bonnet is excellent. When I first met him, I had no idea that even at this age, his voice would support singing so powerfully.
Great song great singer ,and he’s still singing in copy key , not many older singers even attempt that , big respect ✊
he owns thatsong,a great voice
For those who don't know when you get older your voice matures and usually deepens so the fact he can still sing this so well is amazing if you look at Elton john Billy Joel ect ect they are unable to sing songs they sang in the 70s in the same pitch ect,so great job Graham in my book
You can reverse it, though. The voice deepens, yes. Counter that with squeaky falsetto exercises, the kind that go to whistle higher up. That will rebalance your voice. Deepened voice means stronger and more dominant thickening of the vocal cords with less elasticity in the stretchers. Stretch the stretchers, and practice closure without the thickeners, and your voice will sound as young as it ever was.
My voice also aged, and teachers couldn't figure out how to fix it, thinking the thickeners were too weak. No! They were too strong- and it pulled my speaking voice down an octave, making the high range too heavy to get into! I found the solution myself through experimentation across 6 years, gained all the old range back and then some, and am now using the same conclusions to fix other singers' voices. A longtime friend who didn't think it would work is singing easier and stronger after trying my approach.
I'm 42 and sound 21, with the speaking pitch back up around C3, where it's supposed to be. It IS possible to turn back the clock on your voice.
Can u do a tutorial please?
Opus still singing
Une voix unique à l'époque, et, sur le moment, personne n'a prêté l'attention qu'elle méritait. Après on a compris le talent.....
Graham looking and sounding great keep it up man
Mr. Rockvoice. Amazing
love this song.
WONDERFUL .
I couldn’t sing in tune or anything with my mouth that wide open...he is wonderful..used to fancy him when I was 16.
Awesome.
Well, he gave it a shot - but probably should have dropped it a few keys down. There is no shame in that. He was 69 years old here.
One of the best singers of all time.
I agree. I've loved this song since I first heard it in 1968. I saw The Marbles perform it at the NME Poll Concert that year. He needs to drop down at least a key.
@@gbtbag I'd say 3 keys. I'm a 60 yr old singer myself, but even when I was younger I had to drop most songs down about 3 semi tones, and women's songs up about 3 semitones. Graham is really struggling. His high notes just disappear!!
You detractors need to realize the difference between studio and live recordings. Graham hit every note he was going for here. But because of mic distance, improvising (departing from the original melody), and other factors you're hearing it as poor performance. Many times singers will do things in the studio that they can't consistently repeat live. Graham is no different. The object is to make a great record, first and foremost. Studio is about perfection. Live is about energy. It's a different animal. But Graham remains the best. He seemed to have a rough period around the time his wife left, but now he's back in fine fettle (look it up).
Ah, still got it, baby.
What a voice from a guy in his seventies. How many rock singers can sing that high or ever could, apart from him and Gillan!
still got it
fabulous, hats off to the skeggy lad!
nice to see your back on track
Loved it when it was released and still do 🎶🎵
Only one other could sing this song with justice! Jimmy Barnes!!!
Good on ya, Graham.
well done Gray you are still great Tony +Kath España
great voice even to this day.
Good Lord!!
Billiant Graham!
Still great ! But i don’t get the deeper meaning of his words. Can someone explain, please!?
Damn! Amazing!
Saya masih s m p waktu lagu. Ini top tentu suara Graham sudah tak sekuat. Masa muda faktor umur. Saya suka banget lagu ini sampai sekarang
rock on grahman
He pulls chest and sings too hard so his head voice gives out. I guess that’s what he’s always been doing since the 70’s. Strange because watching this it’s clear he understands the technique. It’s a choice he is making to sing loud like that.
You can sing loud without pulling chest, while still being in chest. It's like a magic trick, but it is also not pure chest voice. It's not mix, either. Best part, is that you can build this at a quiet volume and make it loud when you want to. Without straining or going hoarse.
@@into.the.wood.chipper. more like belting
Does he actually need a microphone?
I am not entirely convinced he does
wow,cool
Brilliant
Vzhledem.k věku smekám za výkon
Those high notes aren’t so really there now sadly; listen to the original version if you doubt me.
He should have been part of the current Rainbow reformation - he's still got it all - passion, charisma, talent, class, huge stage presence and an amazing vocal range. Actually, when you put it like that he was all of classic Rainbow combined. Well, nearly. Ritchie wanted to get the DP MK II back together a couple of years ago and was metaphorically spat at by his former band mates so he reformed Rainbow and surrounded himself with lame, 3rd rate, artistically challenged no-hopers in a pathetic attempt to...well, what?
3rd rate? You didn't watch those guys play I take it. Saw them live twice and they were fantastic.
Do yourself Graham. drop the key! You’ve earned it.
theres loads of us on the bus
😎still the best....'👍
LOVE U GB,ONLY 1 GB
Wow 👌
Wow the high notes are difficult
The bassist is hot
His wife!
3:17 I see what you were trying to do there, Graham! ;-)
pero ella estaba dormida ...
history r us
Glad I remember the original.
How many times has she heard that story? Get on with it!
Ritchie Blackmore was a fool to fire Graham Bonnet of a hair do.
Actually he claims that he quit, and now wishes that he had stayed on for a couple more albums.
Graham quit because there was a mess inside the Rainbow in late 1980. Richie was always away (drinking maybe?), Cozy left, Don left for a while, only 2-3 guys were rehearsing. Graham got pissed and left for MSG.
what happend to your side kick
Sadly, Graham's cousin Trevor Gordon passed away at age 64. Taken far too soon and missed terribly.
A hard work for him to sing this, his face shows the effort. He must do some training to be able.
Who is the bass player?? 🙂
It's in the description 🙂

Although I think he is a great singer for his age I think in this live performance he sometimes reaches up to much for the high notes. When the larynx moves up and down to much, it constricts your vocal cords, negatively affecting pitch control and the ability to sing key vowels or consonants in a given range.
Everyone talks about not reaching up or pushing down when you sing, that everything should be on one level, pretty much where you speak at a normal volume, while still emoting and producing tones suitable for whatever music you’re performing. Why? Because the vocal cords adjust on a horizontal; therefore, there is no reason to reach up for a high note or dig down for a low one.
Let’s take a guitar for a moment. If you were playing guitar and you shortened a string, the pitch goes up. The same thing with a piano, if you look at the piano. And the same thing happens with your vocal cords. They vibrate along their entire length up to an E flat or a E natural. And then they should begin to damp - the pitch slides forward on the front. So when you can assist that conditioning, then you go [further] up and there’s no problem to it. You don’t have to reach for high notes.
As an ex-pro singer myself, I can assure you that Graham should have drop the key of this song. He was clearly struggling to hit the high notes with full force. Great voice, but no need to abuse it, he has nothing to prove, he is a legend!
He's still in good nick isn't he!
Voor gina beumer 😢

Ouch
Who the fuck is talking all through the intro?
Happens a lot sadly. My mic picks up everything :/
No….his voice isn't great now,he's struggling. 1968 he wasn't, he shone with that!
dreadful ,,,,,,,poor maurice and Barry Gibb who wrote it this man needs to know when to stop singing
He could get it back.I did, and then some. He just needs to reestablish his falsetto.
Sorry,i like this song en appriciate Graham, but its not good, sorry
OMFG just play it in a lower key if you can not reach the high notes anymore! This was truely appalling and a sore to the ears!
moron!! get some ears
So then he'll get criticized for singing in the wrong key. Smh
