I absolutely loved how the music continued to play and didn't start over when you died, like most games. It was like it was encouraging you to not give up.

That panic moment when it's your first time playing the game and later you have to escape out of a tree before the rising water crushes you...and only the soundtrack comforts you and encourages you to keep jumping and running up the walls -even desperatly jumping on spikes-

I thought that way about the violin part, and then the piano part seemed like the solution that you're supposed to strive for.

The Ginso Tree escape was the moment I went from being interested in this game to adoring it.
It was so thrilling, so high energy, so beautiful that dying repeatedly only drove me to try again and conquer it. Everthing felt like it fit together so perfectly. And the moment of relief before Kuro shows her face.
The worst part is that I can never have that wonderful first time experience again...

This part was simultaneously frustrating and awesome. Not only do you use the coolest ability in the game to make a daring escape as a huge torrent of water closes in on you, but you're also pushed on by this fantastic music that emphasized the epicness of the moment and constantly says to you "You can do it! Keep going!"
Seriously, this part of the game was freaking amazing. I loved it so much even though I died like a billion times. Way to go Ori creators. You did a fantastic job.

I couldn't agree more, just like you this music was what kept me going throughout the entire game, it made me feel sad, determined, scared, happy, intrigued and exited whilst travelling through the long and winding paths of the forest. This soundtrack truly is a work of god. Ori and the Blind Forest, I applaud you.

It is kind of a dilemma if you played through the game multiple times and got good enough to make it through this segment in one or two tries, because it feels good to get through this once so difficult stage but also miss the music. I'm glad this extended version exists :D
I really remember struggling on Definitive Edition when I first played. It was easier on hard because I had dash and air dash on this escape sequence

You know this part of the game was awesome if you died on purpose after dying a dozen other times just to keep hearing this track and playing that part of the level. :)
The best part is that the track doesn't reset at all when you die. Its so seamless and fluid.

Right? Games so rarely have such a cool escape sequence. In fact, I can't even think of a game that has one as good as this.
Its year 2019 and I am still here, hearing to this... This music is epic. Great scene in one of the best games ever. I must say, that this is more than a soudtrack or music for me. This sequence helped me through the years in the worst moments. It gives me strength to face the real life problems as it did during the escaping of Ginso tree.

The first time I played Ori, it took me many tries to beat the Ginso Tree.
The second time I played Ori, it took me four tries to reach the top. Then I jumped in the water so I could keep listening to this track. That's how good this is.
A friend showed me this and I instantly fell in love. I've never heard of Ori and the Blind Forest before until he showed me this. It's such an amazing song that I can't help but listen on repeat over and over again.
My interest was HOOKED. I started looking on Steam and on UA-cam for as much gameplay as possible and I absolutely loved what I saw, definitely a game that I would seriously enjoy without question! My birthday is coming up, so hopefully I'll be able to get a hold of this beautiful gem of a game!

Can't help crying when i hear this piece. It nostalgically reminds me of repetive and frustrating struggle to get ontop that tree, do tense and intensive, all crowned by relief so huge I just burtsted with tears when finnaly succeded ;--;
i fell in love with this track after playing enough of the game to listen to it.
Its beautiful how is mixes serenity and urgency seaminglessly giving at the same time a sense of awe at what we're seeing and excitement at what we're experiencing.

5 years, yet I have still yet to find music anywhere near the level of Ori. It's bright an joyful, but at the same time intense and has a punch to it. It's encouraging, and the sign of accomplishment, but also when the drums kick in, it tells you: "Now you should run". Simply put, a masterpiece

The part from 1:47 - 2:10 always gives me goosebumps, that violin (correct me if I'm wrong) just riles up every hair I've got. It's so good.
Is it just me, or does this piece sound like it would fit perfectly into the Okami soundtrack? This game really reminds me of Okami, especially the Ginso Tree segment. Every aspect of this game is beautiful, from the art to the music to the story. It's a truly incredible game, and easily one of my favorite games of all time.

Thank you so much for this, you truly managed to convey that feeling of absolute tension and determination one feels running that level. Never have I ever experienced such a rush of emotions running through the Ginso Tree, my heart pounding ever harder the farther up I reached, filling with determination to not give up as I plummeted down yet again, and the sheer catharsis when I finally burst out on that jet of water; the euphoria of having made it still echoing today.
I died close to or around a hundred times in my attempt according to the in-game counter, and I am a man who has never had the patience for games or levels that involve dying and trying over and over, but as so many others pointed out the sheer power of the music spurs one on to not give up. And it goes beyond that too, the mechanics of the game leave one feeling thoroughly empowered; for Moon Studios struck a truly fine balance between an incredibly powerful ability and not limiting it mechanically by methods such as cooldowns or mana dependence. Additionally, even the small details like the ting sound that plays when one gets near a bash-point and Ori's little yet so very determined voice as he dashes and jumps all work together to make one feel such a connection and drive to keep going despite the incredible challenge because you know that you will succeed.
And did you know that this was the first.game created my moon studios and it also has no set location so its remote

I get goosebumps just hearing this, when i was escaping and this music was playing my mind was officailly blown by ori and it cemented this game as absolute completely masterful work of art. Others feel the same about it im sure i cant be the only one.

The soundtracks and animation were the best things about the game. I absolutely loved everything about this game, except for the fact that there would be parts where the game turns into a really complex platformer and you had to do something in a certain order otherwise you're dead, but the music encourages you to keep trying it over and over again, and that's I spent an hour of every day for my entire summer break last year.

Only the last one is really difficult, although triple jump and mid air dash really helps. Playing it without using ability points on the other hand...
+JmLyan Honestly, I found the Forlorn Escape to be most difficult for first-timers. I don't usually use or even have dash or triple jump before playing through the final escape, and even then, it's pretty quick to play through.
IndicatedStitch Besides a few cheap one shots that you only get hit by the first time, I find Forlorn Ruins the easiest of the three, as you have more room for error with the lack of the constant threat of instant death.
Not that hard, not as hard as people say. On my first time playing whrough one(which was 3 hours ago) it took me 7 tries, and it could have been less, but i died on porpouse on the 6th to go back and make sure i got all the items on the way...AND i'm still struggling to get accostumed to the atrocious keyboard/mouse commands xD
What I love about this game is that, unlike any other, it makes you feel like the literal embodiment of Hope. Fleeing an overwhelming force such as a flood, a small ray of light darts here and there to survive. Hope shines all the brighter at night.

Ori knew this as she felt the unbridled anger of the water, chasing after her like a beast with the scent of blood in it's nostrils. No matter what ori tried, the water seemed to be closing the distance she had desperately earned. The hope began to slowly fade from her eyes as she saw Naru, once more, smiling and extending out her arms waiting for ori. The fire burned within ori yet again as she rose once again, higher and higher, the small pinhole of daylight growing bigger and bigger before it had bathed her in it's loving embrace. The hellish sound of water coming behind her gave her no comfort as it expelled itself from the ginzo tree, blasting ori and Sien down below into what seemed like a inevitable oblivion.

If I could pay to use copyrights on this fucking theme for my videos forever I so would. This theme is seriously my favorite OST of all time in any video game. It's so fast paced, emotional, and fucking powerful. It brings a tear to my eye while encouraging me to take on anything with full force. So inspirational...
