I grew up in Southern CA on this show and Emergency! I can remember going to a Car Show at the LA Convention Center and meeting Martin Milner and Kent McCord WITH the ADAM-12 unit ! lol Back in the late 60's and early 70's the LAPD would come to Elementary Schools and do high speed turns and burnouts in their patrol cars... very cool :)

this is one of the best cop shows that i ever saw and also one of my favorites.the show was just so realistic.they had all kinds of calls from bank robberies to helping a lost kid.martin milner and kent mccord were perfect as reed and malloy.there chemistry was great.they started off as veteran cop and rookie and by the end they were like brothers.

I am so glad that Antenna TV is rerunning these episodes of Adam-12 now. I loved the show as a kid in the very early 1970's...My dad and I would watch it and even my sisters. My father was a policeman in his early years. I miss him and I miss the great times we shared together. Martin Milner and Kent McCord were the best!

Boys and girls this is the way it REALLY was in 1971. Fresh out of the military, 800 hours of academy training, and I was in a black and white. Many memories followed, most good.

I’m a 28 year old policeman with 4 years on the job, 8 years in the military, first 4 active duty and the last 4 I’ve been Reserve USAF. I wish I could have seen what it was like to be a policeman when times were better. I love my job, but most of my memories are not good ones. A “good day” is a rare occurrence, even when we catch the suspect. I think that my work is meaningful, but it’s not a very healthy field to work in these days - mentally and physically.

This was a great show - it was the first to show the human side of police officers, and also made sure to spotlight the different cars they used during the show. I believe they started with a late '60s Plymouth Belvedere, then moved on to a '71 Plymouth Satellite briefly and then finished off with an AMC Matador sedan.

This show hasn't been on for along time and the reruns haven't be on since the late mid 90s. I'm glad to see that Antenna TV is running it on Saturday's after S.W.A.T. I love this show and I'm 19. I hope they never take it off and wait for along ass time to rerun episodes again. ADAM-12 will always be new to me.

This was shown on NBC's local affiliates at the beginning of the 1974-'75 season, with audio space at the end for the local announcer to say, 'Watch 'ADAM-12', tonight at 7, on KPEW, Channel 55.".

In 1969 on the way to Disneyland, we came upon the Adam 12 car on the highway. The front of the car had both actors in a cop car, but the car was sort of on a flatbed w/ cameras on the back. To this day, I look to see if I can see my aunts station wagon as background vehicles w/ my nose pressed agains the window.

Watching this show with my grandfather made me want to be a policeman. I’m 28 and I’ve worn the badge for 4 years now. I love my job because it’s meaningful to me, but I wish I could have seen what it was like when times were better. Modern police work is not a very healthy field to work in - physically and mentally. Maybe Adam-12’s depictions were “rose colored glasses” a bit, but I still love it.

I recognize one of the episodes from season 7 "X Force" where Pete chases down the child molester and then starts hitting at him and slamming him against a wall. The part where the molester sneaks out and then Pete climbs on the roof and chases after him gave it away which episode it was.

Now that you mention it, not really. And Maserati Quattroportes aren't used as cop cars in Italy or elsewhere because of the expense.
EDIT: Okay, I've seen the pictures, and now I agree with you. Too bad they don't let Lexus cars be LAPD ones though-they look almost the same!

It is red because it came from an original network 16mm film that I transferred to DVD.
