seiko is really doing a great job recently! What a stunning update! Seiko is clearly moving up. I already added the spb143 to my collection, but this one is the next candidate.
I know it's not OK, but I feel misalignment is overblown with seiko, like tons of rolexes are misaligned yet not many people talk about then even though they cost wayyyyy more....in any case love your vids and love the watch, thinking of picking one up but not fully committed yet
Who do you think is stupid to brag about their misaligned rolexes on online forums when they paid £ 10k for them? I think they’re just too embarrassed to do so.. 😭😢
I used to walk past several authorised Rolex dealers in London's Oxford St. every day on my way to and from work. I've been walking past several Rolex dealers on my way to work in central Madrid, Spain since I left the UK. I CANNOT remember EVER seeing a Rolex in the display window with a misaligned bezel. I've been wanting to acquire a nice Seiko Diver for some time and recently visited the Seiko Shop in the Calle Serrano neighbourhood of central Madrid with 1500 euros stuffed in my pockets, HALF THE DIVE WATCHES IN THE STORE HAD EITHER MISALIGNED bezels or ill-fitted and rattling end links on their stainless bracelets. Most of the same type of Seiko watches on internet platforms reveal in the photos, if the photo.isnof sufficient clarity and quality, that the bezel is misaligned.
I really need to stop watching videos on these MM200s. My savings can't take another watch 😂😂 this is definitely much more of a baby MM300 than the SPB079 the level of finishing throughout is much more in line with the MM300. I see this as the everyday Marinemaster
@19 FORTE I've had watches across many brands, to be honest there are so many good watches but after time I've noticed I go back to Seiko & G-Shock in particular.
I am just beginning my watch collection. I am starting to get a good grasp on brands and models, thanks to UA-cam channels like yours. I like Seiko's but there are so many models that it is a little harder to find the quality and look when looking at all their different divers. I think this is the model I am going to get, good compromise between their lower priced divers and the SLA models.
Rob, the thickness depends on where on the caseback you place your calipers: if you include the wave logo (which protrudes), then you get about 13.4mm; if you place the calipers off the caseback’s centered logo, then you get 12.5mm.
I keep looking at this and the 125. Love both. But kinda hoping for a version with this blue dial with the steel bezel or maybe a green dial with the steel bezel. Sigh...Was really hoping to be done buying new Seikos after getting the Willard last year.
I went to the Seiko website and the SBDC127 is the JDM version. This is what the SBDC127 has over the SPB187: Diamond Shield case coating, One-push diver extender method, Magnetic Resistance = Yes I also did a store search for both watches. Retailers throughout the US appeared for the SPB187 and none for the SBDC127.
I have this watch and the only think I don’t like about it is how jingly the bracelet is. All the pins have a little too much clearance. The watch is really nice though. I love the hands. I love the case finishing. I love the finish on the bracelet i just wish it had the same bracelet as the sbdc65, the original baby MM. I think the SBDC 065 is still my favorite seiko diver though. even though the new watch has nicer hands and the case is more MM300 like. SBDC 065 just feels more solid. This mm reduced is way nicer than the 63mas like the sbdc 101-107 though. That watch seems like $99 watch to me.
hey , i have a very small wrist of 6 inch (15cms)... so will the CAPTAIN WILLARD fit on my wrist ??? that watch with that olive green drives me crazyyy
If you look through Seiko models, it really bugs me when they sell the exact same model, same specs in different colors but hundreds of dollars apart. You don't get any more watch, you just pay 30 percent premium for a different color.
That applies to almost all brands. Compare prices on different color subs or GMT Masters. The special editions do what they are designed to do…make money for AD and Seiko.
The old MM200 has deep-filled lume, similar to the MM300. The lume on the new MM200 is just a blob on top of the index. Whiter in daylight, but less potent in the dark. Still fine though.
Yup. In normal lighting its actually helping the dial look more balanced. But in a lume shot it will be obvious that it is outside the dial circumference
I have the SBP105J1(green) mm200 44mm, I like the hands on this new model... my wrist is 8"+ a bit... the 44mm size of the older MM200 isn't a problem for me... but those new models are pretty nice looking.. I'm strangely meh~ about the willard personally... doesn't do much for me...
This is a pretty nice release. One request: Please dust off the particles off the watch. I don't notice that issue normally in your videos, but thought I'd request it. It was distracting me, wondering if they were above or under the crystal.
You won’t get those overspeced cheap Seikos anymore, cause money has lost a lot of value. Credit institutes are throwing 0% credits out like warm brezels. But you can still get extremely great valued watches like the new Sumo for around 500€ or the Sarx035 for 600€, which are both quality and design wise far above the competition. I see a lot of people praising Tissot and Certina etc. for value (which is might be true, if you buy a watch by a check list of features), but in truth they don’t have much character and look bland.
SBDC is built for the Japanese Domestic market only (JDM), SPB are built for the international market. Great video as usual 👍
seiko is really doing a great job recently!

Beautiful... definitely on my shopping lists. Thanks, Rob and Jeff.

Perfect Seiko in my view- been waiting for those hands!
Thanks Rob. Seeing hints of Grand Seiko improvements in this one....
Congrats on the 50k! You deserve it!
Boy i sure do like that blue dial. I don't "need" another Seiko diver but come to think of it I don't have a blue dial one !!
Congratulations RR !!! I love your authenticity. 50k u earned it no doubt 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍✌️
Seiko and G-Shock, you are not going to beat the 🇯🇵 on watches...

Beautiful, just enough red.
I am in love with that green Willard
I can't blame you...The best Seiko watch ever...

Anyone else come straight from Just One More Watche's SPB 185 mini-marine master review?
Dear Rob, You have forgotten your famous Bold Statement, about Seiko Baby Marine Master.
"what is the difference ? idk im asking you"
lmfao🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Like this Seiko. Just wish it had lume filled markers and not puff-printed lume.
Bezel alignment is one of those really basic things that needs to be a given at this price range.
That's why one shouldn't buy a Rolex
It's a feature. And if you're lucky, you'll also get a misaligned chapter ring. That's how you know it's authentic. 😁
@@zaskarclf then I have a super legit skx lol
First....I have this watch, I really like it

It’s the same watch. Japanese code number v global code number
Too expensive. But. SEIKO IS KING. !!!
rolecs and richard miller are too expensive, SEIKO is not
If these ever drop down to the old MM200 price level I'll be all over it; loved mine but it was a bit big.
Lume on the monster in the background showing off!

Wake up feeling.... ninjawesome!!! Anyone tired of seeing that ad or what
What do you think Sir, which Watch is better; Seiko Captain Willard SPB183J1 LimitedEdition ( blue Version ) or the same watch in green?
Great overview.
Rob, which would you say wears smaller, this or the "6RMAS" variants i.e. SPB147?
Close one
This or breitling superocean 42?
hey , i have a very small wrist of 6 inch (15cms)... so will the CAPTAIN WILLARD fit on my wrist ??? that watch with that olive green drives me crazyyy
With these new SBDC/SPB models the only difference is the hang tag.
I really miss the Monster era until the third gen.
I have that blue one, and the green willard is on the way 😁👌
Beautiful watches. Out of reach for the common man🤬
But it's a prestige brand hence the price points. It's just business.
I will stick to my Seiko SPB143.
Rob 🤙👍
Hi Rob. Is there a black version of this watch? I cant find it.
If you look through Seiko models, it really bugs me when they sell the exact same model, same specs in different colors but hundreds of dollars apart. You don't get any more watch, you just pay 30 percent premium for a different color.

He didn’t complain about the date wheel not matching 😂 first time for everything
i've seen reviews that state the lume is not as good as the SBDC063 MM200 models. Has anyone experienced this?
The old MM200 has deep-filled lume, similar to the MM300. The lume on the new MM200 is just a blob on top of the index. Whiter in daylight, but less potent in the dark. Still fine though.
They could at least sign the crown for $1000 bucks. Nice video.
That would be nice.
Even my Sumo (2nd gen) has a nice signed crown, great watch for the money.
I really like the case, but too big for me.
Too expensive for me, but nice size
Thoughts on the lume pip eating into the minute track at 3?
Good call. Not a fan of that but it is nice overall.
Yup. In normal lighting its actually helping the dial look more balanced. But in a lume shot it will be obvious that it is outside the dial circumference
@@PepRex
Incorrect.
Yeah I just can’t get behind the idea of buying a $1,000 seiko.
Why?
Date at 3 O’clock. I think you saw the 6 on the date.
So, will the real SKX replacement please stand up?
Nice dial but let down by the horrible clasp system and dodgy quality control

Think it’s a steel bezel
.
It’s not ceramic. I got cheated by the look as well 😂
They do such a good job with coating, it’s hard to tell.
Way overpriced as compared to Steinhart, others with better movements and quality in general...
You get an original design, produced in-house.
Keep your Rolex copy.

I fully agree.
Most Swiss watches do nothing for me, the very conservative styling and high prices make them unattractive.
