    Is no one going to mention how much blood, sweat and tears were poured into making these sets? Like, unless you know you were on a set, you would think you were in an actual fuctioning city or town. Everything is perfect.

    I was around 14, when I took the tour in the mid-late 1960s. Back then, the tram tour seemed to last at least 2-3 hours....with several stops along the way. Our guide walked us thru sets, explained some of the 'magic' behind the filmmaking process & conducted demonstrations. Really wish I could relive that wonderful experience. I visited for the 2nd time, in the late 1990s. The tram ride was extremely short, with NO stops. or walk-thrus. The place was more a collection of amusement park rides, than a movie studio.

    • @har9020
      @har9020 3 роки тому +7

      Agreed. My first time there was 1990 and the tram tour was much less "amusement park" then. I prefer the Warner Bros. tram tour, though that one isn't what it used to be either.

      I worked there back in 1973 for a whole summer. You pretty much had to know someone who worked there to get you a job. I loved the tour and remember it was quite long. I worked in the gift shops and souvenir/film booths. The tourists would swarm the souvenir booths to buy film, souvenir booklets etc. it would get crazy, people grabbing and pushing to buy stuff. I enjoyed working in this one glass blowing booth and got to paint some of the glass animals and other figurines. Back then, there was only a single tram ride. This was before the Jaws movie. Such great memories of an iconic place!

      Thr way the courthouse looks now is because they changed it for Ghost Whisperer. But actually they just built the new front(facade) in front of the original. If you look in the front door you can still see the original columns from the courthouse. There are some cool videos of this on UA-cam.

    As someone who has visited both California and Florida Universal Studios, I feel the better of the two properties is, without a doubt, the California property. With each visit, additions have occurred, sets have been repainted to meet the needs of the current filming location, and changes occur often. I must give kudos to the tram spokespersons as they accentuate the views, bringing back the movie memorabilia to the young and old. Thank you.

      I think it depends on what your focus is. If you're going for studio tours and stuff, yeah, CA is the way to go. But if you're there specifically for the Harry Potter park? It's Orlando all the way. Not only is it significantly bigger and has better rides, the entire atmosphere is different. In Orlando you can cosplay and immerse yourself in the magic of it all. Hollywood has way more of a "too cool for that" vibe. I wouldn't turn down an opportunity to visit either park, but deciding which one is "best" really does mean looking at what you want/expect out of your visit.

      More like $90-100 hahaha
      Ticket prices are RIDICULOUS.... What's worse, esp. with Disney, they have multiple parks, so you're paying that amount PER PARK. Even if you get some kind of bundle / package, you can maybe save a LITTLE money, smh.

    I love the studio tour. It shares a set tour but also includes cool stuff like the King Kong, Flooding street, and Cars from the movies. I’m going tomorrow and I really want to go on this tour.

    Absolutely loved the Studio Tour in 2013 when we visited! It feels like a hundred years ago now. Love to go again someday, kind of doubt we'll ever make it back though.
    Thanks a million for posting, brings back the good feels :)

    Don't come after me, but I wasn't really into the Fast & the Furious franchise that I was a little sad I think they replaced that part of the ride with it that used to have the King Kong attraction. I know I've heard many stories that it burned down, but I'm just bummed they couldn't replace it and make it better instead of putting in THIS with just screens everywhere. At least they kept Jaws, but the King Kong animatronic just blew me away when I was little. I wish they could've kept it in the tram tour. I guess they have to keep updating it with more current movies. ☹️

      The lot burned down in the middle of a recession, there was simply no way that they would have spent tens of millions of dollars to rebuild it like the old one.

    damn, i really miss universal. I had a season pass back in 2017 and went a ton it's a shame the pandemic had to hit. One of my favorite parts of universal is going on the studio tour.

    Well done on the vid, interesting and entertaining... I like them having a live Norman Bates. I've done this tour before, they've added some things but took away Kong.

    I’m surprised the guide didn’t mention Murder She Wrote at the Jaws section and The Munster’s reboot when passing by the Chicken Ranch. At least he mentioned Leave it to Beaver and other productions. I see they fixed up the Ford LTD police car at the crash site. Back in the 2014 video it was missing it’s light bar and door emblems.
