She’s getting .6-.8 in form/technique deductions. Her form is pleasing to the eyes but she has just as many small detail errors as most gymnasts have noticeable ones.
Her DTY lacks height in comparison to the field and her body shape is bent all the way through to the landing and messy legs. Her second vault was over in her block angle and didn’t have a lot of height and her body position was very bent immediately after the vault and she was on center and then went over the line. So many deductions
Judging has gotten so crazy strict and quick to downgrade skills. Yeah, there's a little bit of piking momentarily after her block/excessive snap, but downgrading this to a Podkopayeva instead of just taking a deduction is just crazy to me Though seeing how the exact same thing happened to her last year, I'm hoping she will work to fix it
The problem is, it WAS piled- NOT laid out as it was supposed to be. She got hit for that last year too and didn’t correct the form so that’s on her and her coach.
@@honeyfromthebee no, as a matter of fact I saw the exact point. You were remarking how strict the judging has become, how quickly they downgrade a vault for the pike position it showed. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO. This is the world championships of gymnastics- the best in the world- not a level seven competition. They are expected to perform with exacting technique, and get suitably deducted when they don’t. Simple as that.
@@saragrant9749 So you do have some reading comprehension! It was rather ambiguous after your first comment tbh 😅 I suppose it's a subjective matter as to whether or not it's best to deduct here, as they would have in the past, or downgrade. So good of you to let everyone know where you stand!!
@@saragrant9749just like it’s simple to speak to someone professionally and not like they don’t understand the rules either. Like said the whole pike discussion is subjective and obviously you have a different opinion than other people. Like me, if you’re gonna downgrade Leanne’s vault, might as well downgrade everyone else who tends to pike their Cheng, and I’m not talking about Simone or Rebecca because their chengs have the cleanest layout imo.
I really disagree with the downgrade of the 2nd vault. It wasn’t that piked. The judges are highly inconsistent about this. Still, amazing worlds for Leanne, way to step up for the team. 🥇
I noticed that at the start of her second vault, it says 4.8, but then her D-score at the end was only 4.2. What skill did they credit instead of lopez, and what is the difference of the two?
They down graded it from a layout to pike. They're very strict when it's just a half turn. You can pike just at much for a cheng and they'll credit it as laid out, but for just a half, you need to be super stretched
UNDERSCORED!
AGREE i feel like everything she does gets underscored!

That was so underscored. Both vaults.
Her second vault was downgraded- RIGHTFULLY. It was most definitely piled. Clean form would get her better scores.

She has done an outstanding job at this competition. Brava!
GREAT! They're all AMAZING!!!

I agree with underscored, although I’ve never seen her pike down like that.
Love the Leo

Honestly, she has too much power on the Lopez, and they keep downgrading her. Just give her the cheng.

Apparently the Podkapeyava (excuse my spelling)
Yes to the Cheng!
