Exactly! Only thing is the game is not HD on Xbox. I am hopefully an HD patch will exist one day for modded Xboxes that have double RAM mod. Since there are a TON of HD patches for games it could really make it the definitive version. Now that we have mods for the game the Xbox version could get vehicle mods now too since GTA games on Xbox have been modded too.
PS2 with component or RGB scart cables directly in front of TV looks pretty good

I've been waiting years for a detailed comparison like this. It's so good to see this game still has recognition after 15 years, it truly is an underrated gem. It's a bummer that it lacked some extra free roam content that its direct competitors offered
Played it on PC few weeks ago. I think this is the best city open world game of the sixth generation. I still don't understand there are so few mods for PC. Definitely enhanced textures would come handy. At least you can add the missing songs and infinite draw distance (which looks great because the game world is really huge). Also PC versions runs at 120 FPS no problem.
how can you add the infinite draw distancec, you can remove the fog but that's it to my knowledge
The atmosphere of the game is amazing, you really feel like you are in New York, and even today games can't match that.
Looking back on this game, i often wonder what it would've been like on "next gen" since it came out in 2006, honestly I'm kind of suprised it didn't get a 360 release at the very least. Still a phenomenal game, but going back to it on PS2 the controller scheme is hard to revert back to. At least it has progressive scan.
this is called making a low ccost game because driver 3 p killed the franchise's name, so no risk, low cost

The lighting effects in the PS2 and Xbox versions look the most accurate to me. The PC and Wii versions look more dull in comparison, even lacking a few visual effects. Overall, I believe the Xbox version takes the cake because it looks slightly more polished than its PS2 counterpart. However, it seems like the PS2 and Xbox versions are the only stable versions because the Wii version can only be played with motion controls, and despite this version coming out a full year after the original PS2 and Xbox releases, the graphics are significantly more downgraded than those versions for some odd reason. I also heard that the PC version is lacking a few songs and has problems with camera.

There's a mod for the PC version which adds the songs back in, there's also other missing slots where you can add your own music. I added a few of my own music to the 1978 mode, a few songs which I thought should have been in the game.
i used to play a lot the Wii version when i was younger, i recently brought the PS2 version and i’m seeing that on the PS2 the traffic is more dense while on the Ubisoft version, NY doesn’t have a lot of traffic and yes, the Wii version is missing a lots of songs, the aiming is a lot different on the Wii version, you can’t reload or walk normally with the gun out in the Wii version.
The Xbox version also runs ever so slightly better, with a better headlight effect.
PC has the best detail obviously but I do prefer the more colourful console versions, they also seem to have more depth and blacks to them, the PC version looks a bit "dusty" in comparison.
insane how the PC version is based on the Wii (or the other way around) and the ps2 and xbox are their own version

its the same case as the gta sa pc port. Back in the day when games were ported to pc they lost their color filters and stuff perfect example is gta sa bc los santos lost its orange skies and las venturas lost its purple sky
@@thatkerimguy Ah so that explains why I never had a purple sky on GTA SA PC, it was only until I saw a youtube video with the purple sky and was quite confused as I'd never seen it before.

Данная разница в качестве говорит только о том, что правильно захватить видео с консолей до HDMI периода очень трудно. Я недавно проходил эту игру на PS2 и напрямую с телевизора всё выглядело чётко даже вдаль, а тут мне на этом же телевизоре показывают какую-то муть.
у чела так и на телике было. это он сд подключением воспользовался (ну мож телек такой) или в настройках консоли не тот оутпут/отупут разрешение выбрал.
бай зе вей. многие игры не имеют внутреннего переключения широкий/нормальный формат ил выбора языков - а берут из настроек консолей пс2/хбокс.
на эмулях таж ситуация будет уже из-за "скачать готовую сборку все настроено"
La versión de Xbox me ha parecido hermosa, más que la de PC con su ultra filtrado, algo tiene la de Xbox que aún y con la poca resolución se ve con más vida, demás que por la iluminación, la de PC se ve limpia sin dientes, pero como pálida.
All of them look like they play well. Visually, I'd rate them as Windows > Xbox > Wii > PS2. Windows is clearly at the tip-top, and PS2 is clearly at the bottom. The Xbox and Wii are much closer to one another, and I'm surprised that I think I like the Xbox's graphics better than the Wii as a newer console... something about the lighting just looks a lot better and more natural. The Wii would have been brand-new in 2006, so maybe devs weren't as familiar with how to get maximum horsepower out of it.
I played this game a lot on Xbox the graphics are way better I completed the game like A Year Ago
I only hate about the wii version is the camera position and controls

The PS2 version looks way better on real hardware, emulator are not accurate.

funny enough is how they made the graphics on the pcs uncompressed and that makes the game look insanely good on pcs for it's time. just look at the interior details.
WII ver has extra polish, but it lacks the sirens glow effect and eerie street lights bulbs flashing... Anyways, WII still beats others!!!

The PC version is a prime example of resolution ruining a game's atmosphere. Totally lost its edge and aesthetic. Xbox looks the best and most faithful to what I feel the artists vision would've been.
I'd honestly rather play the PS2 version than the PC one. PC version still looks great but it's had that 'something' stripped from it.
Yup I feel the same way. I tried out the PS2 version on PCSX2 a while ago and it plays a lot better. Don't know why I guess it's just nice to know that I have all the songs on the radio, the more vibrant graphics and the version that Reflections put their heart into. IIRC PC port was rushed by Ubisoft.
The "Something" missing are probably lighting effects and the hue of the game. Pc porting of PS2 games seemed to always have this issue for one reason or another.
@@mrbackup993 Along with those effects are also some other small basic details e.g. in DPL PC version you cannot move the camera around your car in Rays Auto's but in the console versions of DPL you can. Driver PC Ports have always been a little weird tbh. Nowadays I tend to just play PS2 version of Driv3r and DPL rather than their PC versions
@@rlfpotatoking9253 true, they seem to be quite weirdly specific things, just like the pc portings of GTA. it's a porting of a console game after all, nothing that a couple of scripts and mods can't fix

PC is the worst. It runs like crap. the render distance it's atrocious. Even running at 600 fps the light posts render at two feet of distance same goes to trees and buildings. I much prefer using ps2 version instead :)

I'm late but every version runs at 60 fps.
PC version is better because, it has extra details and clean visuals. Console versions, except Wii, looks darker. All tho, to be fair, to run PC version on modern OS, you have to dig some solutions cause, this game is not compatible very well with Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11. Thus, it can crash back to desctop because of compatibility problems. I solved it partially, but it still crashes when i'm trying to replay some missions.
good afternoon the game works correctly in windows 7 64 bits ultimate inform yourself well do not give false information. Please do your research before commenting. I have the steam version and the game works correctly.
@@josebraund What information? I literally installed the game on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1 and it has some problems that i described above. It is not something that i found on internet. It is what i have experienced.
