I love your quick note, how you are bending down, changing camera angle, did you invent that trick or learn it from somewhere? You video skills are outstanding, voice quality, pace, clarity, focus etc...all excellent
Bruno, I really appreciate your kind words! I'm continuing to work on my video skills to make the videos even better. As for the "quick note," I think I saw someone do something similar to it (but not exactly the same) on another channel in a completely different industry and I decided to try my own flavor. But I will say that more recently, I've stopped asking people to subscribe. This was at the advice of Video Creators, who offers training and consultations to UA-cam creators, and I'm one of their happy clients. Subscriptions, it turns out, are more of a vanity metric and don't increase your chances of UA-cam promoting your content. So now, my singular CTA (call-to-action) is to encourage people to watch more videos. :-)
Thank you! This video is so timely.... I've been considering switching my LinkedIn personal profile to a company page, but after watching this video, I have more clarity of what I want and what is best for my goals. Keep rocking #VRAfam
Oh, awesome! The good news is that you can have both a profile and company page...just put all or most of your efforts into your profile. 😀
No fluff stuff and straight to the point! Great video. Thank you for the valuable information.
Thank you! 😊
Love these tips! I definitely agree that person-to-person interaction is most ideal
Thanks so much, Brandon!
Thank you for this, so simple and to the point.
Thank you! I'm really glad you liked the video!
Thanks for making this brief and simple.
You're so welcome! That's my goal!
Awesome content! Thank you for the great work you do!
Thank you so much! 😊 By the way, I love learning languages so I checked out your website. I bet what you do is super fulfilling!
Just starting on LinkedIn --> And these videos are super helpful!
I'm so glad, Antonin!
Brilliant! Good to see there are benefits to both.
Thanks, Steven! Yes, both the profile and page serve a business in different ways.
This is exactly what I was looking for.
I‘m so glad! 😀
Thanks for the tips. I wish I would've came across your video before I paid a graphics designer for LinkedIn banners and stuff 😂
You're welcome! And I'm sure you'll be able to use your graphic designer for more useful projects!
Thank you for these great tips.
You‘re very welcome, and likewise on your channel!
Brooke, this is excellent, thanks for sharing. I think you have a career in TV!
Terri, it's my pleasure! Thanks so much for your kind words. :-)
Agreed with this but when working full time in corporate. I cant always post from my personal for my business page
Yes, the time crunch is real! If you have to choose just one place to post, I typically recommend the personal profile (depending on the circumstance, of course).
Great Stuff. While Flying Angels has a LinkedIn company page we only have a few hundred followers and I was wondering if I was missing something.
No matter how awesome Flying Angels is (which it is), your personal profile will always beat it. It's your personal brand that matters most!
Excellent video, thanks for sharing. Whilst I have a LinkedIn account, I don't use it! I need to 'catch up', so I'm glad I came across this. Do you have any advice and/or videos on promoting different income streams, within the same industry, on LinkedIn? Keep up the good work, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks, Anthony! I don't have any videos specifically about how to promote different income streams on LinkedIn (or on social media), but you might benefit from my video about how to produce a content calendar -- it might offer you some ideas for your multi-faceted content strategy. I don't allow for links in my UA-cam comments, so I can't send you the video link, but on UA-cam search for "Delaware ShoutOut The Insanely Simple Content Calendar," and you'll see it! Best of luck!
@@DelawareShoutOut Awesome, I’ll be sure to check that out. Thanks a million for taking the time to reply. Very much appreciated 👍👍👍

Hi Brooke, Would you please help me? I have a Linkedin Profile page where I shared my experience as an Associate Director, Filmmaker, But now I have formed a company That Provides services in Custom Sports apparels Manufacturing and distribution and I still continue my job as well. Question #1. Should I make another Profile page from scratch or create a company page from the existing Profile page. Question #2 What should I do in this scenario where I need to continue my job and build my company in parallel?
Khalid, you're asking really good questions, and I've tackled situations like this in the past with clients. My responses:
1. No, absolutely do not make another profile page. It will be too confusing when someone tries to look you up and sees you have more than one profile. Also, nearly everyone has a highly diverse career. It's more impressive to show your versatility and to be transparent with that in a single profile. It also makes you more relatable.
2. You should still create a company page for your new company. That way, the logo from the company page can show up in the Experience section of your profile, where you list your company.
3. I'm assuming that your employer will be fine with your building your own company, as long as it doesn't interfere with your job duties. (But check on this!) Assuming that, consider still having most of the focus of your profile still on your current job, with secondary mentions of your new company in the About section and Experience section. But every situation is different, so do what makes "political" sense with your employer and what makes sense for your long-term entrepreneurial goals. Keep in mind that you can always revise your profile later to focus on your new company, if you plan to leave your job then.
I hope that helps, Khalid!
Hi Brooke. I have a question please regarding your answer to Khalid. Why can't he just create a profile account with the name of his company instead of his name? In this way people won't find double profiles when they search. Is that doable?
Brooke, Thanks for reply. No, I have not seen the answer.
Hi Fred! Thank you for your questions! I'm responding here so that UA-cam knows I responded. :-)
So you post the same info in both comapany page and personal profile? Sorry i did not get that
Thanks for asking! While in a perfect world, one could post completely different content on the company page and profile, few people have the time to customize posts like that. I think it's totally fine to post the same content on both the company page and profile. Your time is finite and precious! Besides, few people will even see posts coming from your company page in their newsfeeds, as LinkedIn generally restricts how many newsfeeds your company page posts get delivered to. I hope that answers your question. If you need any other information, please let me know!
@@DelawareShoutOut thank you!! ☺️
Very helpful thank you. in my case I have a personal Linkedin page for years. I am about to launch my new business. By error I created a profile page instead of a business for this new venture. I used the new business email in the setting during the creation of this page. I am now struggling to convert it to a business page and linked to my original and mature personal page. Any guidance will be much appreciated
As long as your new "profile" doesn't have too many connections, you can just delete it and then create a new company page off of your original profile. There may be issues in adding your company email address to your original profile in the Contact section, but that's what I can think to do! :-)
@@DelawareShoutOut thank you so much. I will try that.
Very clear and loved the checklist! Thank you. Question, is it still wise to have a Company Page 'if' I have no employees? Does it look bad showing '1 person works here' Or showing none? I have an Corporate Events Company and all the team are self employed. I call upon them when we have events to deliver. I don't want the brand to look small when companies visit the page... Any insights here?
Many thanks, Gary
Thanks for asking! I understand what you‘re saying about the number of employees. Very few people will check out your company page, so I wouldn’t worry about it. The key thing is building the page so you can have the logo also appear on your personal profile, which way more people will see.
@@DelawareShoutOut Thank you! If I can only promote ads from the Business Page, will they not by default go to that?
I'm working out where to put my initial attention for marketing the Corporate Parties - LinkedIn Personal & or business, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter or Threads. So many options to explore, so want to master one first, before moving onto the next. Your Wisdom welcome here :)
@@garyedwards778 LinkedIn paid advertising costs a fortune. If you're going to do LinkedIn, you can go very far organically by working through your personal profile.
@@DelawareShoutOut Thank you for the efficient response!! So ultimately I need to 1st pay attention to my personal profile and grow this organically, however, still worth having a business page as it shows the logo on my personal page plus the other benefits you highlighted in your video.
Thank you, Gary
Great video, thank-you.
You‘re very welcome!
Hey Brooke - thanks for these - can you ( or have you and i missed it?) talk about 'posts' vs. 'articles' - both of which i assume are only for 'Company pages'? I only have a profile to date. thx
Arthur, thank you for asking about this! I created a video about articles (long-form content), which are treated differently than short-form posts. The link is at the end of my answer here. 🙂 At the time I created this video, you could only post articles to your profile. Now you can choose to post through your company page. You'll now see it when you first select the option to write an article from the home page -- a prompt comes up asking which page you want the article to go through. I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions! ~Brooke ua-cam.com/video/lJhhDse2rTY/v-deo.html
@@DelawareShoutOut Thank you very much...I know I'm late to this game so I appreciate the help.
@@DreamlikePictures It‘s all good!
GREAT VIDEO! Is it possible to add current and previous projects to our company page, to showcase? I cannot seem to find that anywhere
Great question! Unfortunately, LinkedIn doesn't have a good area to showcase a portfolio on a company page (or even a showcase page, which is just another company page with a twist). LinkedIn profiles are better designed for showcasing projects, since you can add an entire projects section. Thank you for asking!
@@DelawareShoutOut thank you for the reply!
love this , thank you
You’re welcome! ☺️
Brooke, I need help. I followed your other video to create a LI company page. It worked up to creating a new post. It then brought me to my home page. I don't know if I have a company page. Please help, fred
Hey Fred! Thanks for watching this video, too! 🙂 Hopefully you saw my answer to your question in the other video comment.
Hi, i would like to ask is there a way we can create linkedin page without using personal profile like using an general company email ?
Thanks for asking! All LinkedIn company pages must be built off of a personal profile. But the only personal profiles that will end up being displayed on the company page are the ones that list the company as their current employer. I've built numerous LinkedIn company pages for clients, and my name isn't anywhere on the pages. :-)
very useful video
Thank you! I‘m glad you liked it!
Ok I don't want people that are connections on my profile to see posts that I put on my company page. Is that possible ??
Your connections won't see what you post on your company page unless you purposely share the post afterwards with them. I hope that helps!
Do u recommend posting same posts twice, one time on personal & one time on company page each time?
It’s not a “best practice”, but realistically I think it’s impractical to create consistently unique/separate content for you profile and company page. And if you use a third-party app like Hootsuite or Buffer, you can post the same content on each at the same time. These apps also allow you to preschedule your posts. Thanks for the question, Andrew, and I hope this helps!
@@DelawareShoutOut great advice and reply thanks for taking the time to advice
@@andrew-isac My pleasure!
Can you please make detailed video on how to sell services to small business owners through linkedin such as through content marketing or groups etc. Need detailed info please.
Thanks for asking about this! In the description for this video, I just now added a link to another video you might like. It's about leveraging LinkedIn groups. (Look for the lightbulb emoji.) Overall, I think that selling should just be just a small part of a much larger strategy of sharing thought leadership and engaging with your network where you serve as a resource more than anything else. When people see that you care about them and are there to help them by sharing valuable information for free, they will come to you to ask how they can become a paying client. I've seen it time and time again. There are certainly people who disagree with this approach, but this is what's worked for me for years and has helped me nurture meaningful, win-win working relationships, so this is what I teach. :-)
Since you watched my video about the content calendar and LinkedIn long-form articles, please let me know what sort of details are missing so I can add it to my list of video content ideas. I really appreciate your feedback!
@@DelawareShoutOut thanks. I saw the video. Very informative. I want to target small business owners. Can you make a video on all strategies that may be adopted to sell services to them. Such as facebook ads, content marketing, email marketing etc. For linkedin i got the point that we need to share knowledge.
Thanks for asking about this. So basically, you're looking for a video with ideas for B2B marketing. I'll put that on my content ideas list, but to be honest, I probably won't tackle the video anytime soon, and I encourage you to search for "B2B marketing" on UA-cam to see what's out there already. The reason I'm very hesitant to do the topic is because I've learned (the hard way, I'm sad to say) that I need to stick with topics that already show higher demand than supply -- i.e., there are already videos on the topic with more views than subscribers from the channels supplying the videos. Lately, it's been taking me an average of 20 hours to produce a single video (research, scripting, filming, editing, etc.) because I'm really trying to improve my quality, and I want to make sure those 20 hours on the topics that are likely to get the most views (and are in my wheelhouse, of course!). So overall I like your idea -- I'm in the B2B world myself! -- and I'll keep this video idea in my back pocket in case there's more demand in the future. I promise -- I'm putting it on my content ideas list now. :-) I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
I understand. Thanks
If I create a business page on my personal profile. Can my employer see my business page ? I’m nervous to separate my professional page and my side hustle ? Please let me know . Thank you 🙋🏼♀️
Thanks for asking! Anyone can see company pages, because they’re public. However, unless you’ve added your name somewhere on your company page (or listed your company page in the Experience section of your personal profile), no one will see that you’ve created the page yourself. I’ve created many company pages for my clients, and it’s completely behind the scenes.
@@DelawareShoutOut I haven’t created my side business page yet because I wanted to know first if my current employer can see my side gig .
Just to confirm the answer is yes my employer can see my side gig job?
@@TheTikiGirl Yes, it will be public.
In the latest Linkedin update, the entire layout of the app is changed, and NOW there is NO WORK BUTTON. So, now where to click to create a LinkedIn company page
I can’t access my laptop right now, so I’m working off of memory here. One of the options in the top right, when you click on it, has the company page option in the dropdown menu.
Linkedin acc. Itself deleted. How can I delete the company page .??
Pls reply
Ugh! Is anyone else an admin to the company page? You can ask them to delete the page for you. This is my first time hearing about this type of situation, and I tried Googling for help but couldn't find anything relevant. So my only guess is to see if anyone else is an admin. I wish I could help you more!
Nice information
I'm glad you liked it - thank you!
Hey, do I need to have a company profile for having my company page on Linkedin can somebody answer this?
Are you asking if you need to have a *personal* profile on LinkedIn to build your company page? If so, the answer is yes. But when someone visits your company page, they won't know the page was built by you. The only "connection" they would see is if you list your company in the Experience section of your personal profile. I hope that helps!
@@DelawareShoutOut thanks for reply actually I have opened a company's account and a company's page both
Understood. Did you set up the personal profile with company information, rather than personal information? Technically, it's still a personal profile, but not with personal information.
Hi I am a freelance copywriter. I have request from client to manage their LinkedIn personal page. Is that possible at all? Can someone appoint me as an Admin for personal page? Thank you for answering.
Thanks for asking! There's no "admin" for a personal page, only for a company page. You'll need to get their login info for their personal page and run it from there.
