I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. I have a consulting service for prospective expats we can arrange employment in both Cambodia and Vietnam. Feel free to reach out if that's of value
Great video guys. I noticed the tats. How are schools with dress codes and covering them up? I have tats on my arms and legs and with the heat do they expect them covered at all times?
No man, unless it's maybe a more formal school like an international school or somewhere with standards. I covered mine somewhat but also didn't care, really. Some schools may not like them. Most will just be happy if you have your documents or your sober. Reach me on fb fan page if you'd like any help with that relocation.
Great video thank you. I’m a 57 year old Englishman and I would like to come to Cambodia to teach English. I have an English quay but not a degree, and I am yet to complete a TEFL. I have a lot of questions regarding working visas, finding work, accommodation etc. can you help me?
Please feel free to reach me on the Facebook fan page in the description. we have a full relocation consulting service. We can line you up with all the contacts you'd need to easily land on your feet. If that's of value, please reach out 🙏🏻
Great video. I am a non-native looking to relocate and teach there. Currently doing my TEFL. Any advice on how to apply jobs there and do they offer accommodation as part of the benefits?
Hahaha 😆 😂 😆 accommodation in Cambodia hahaha 😆 😂 🤣 😅 😄 wow your in for a surprise. If you're white, you can make like 1000usd to 1500usd. Which isn't amazing but is enough to live, not white, much less. If you're not white, buy from a developed country, and you will also be fine. Africa, middle east etc pay will be low, and treatment will be bad. That's most of SEA. If you're coming from a really bad economy, it might be better. Depends on your circumstances. I don't give free advice. If you're looking for consulting on the matter, we do hourly. Can inquire on the fan page.
Im getting certified in one month in Cambodia from a course calle ITA ( international tefl academy) im nervous about the test as its a university level 4 week intensive. I look forward to get out of the rat race of usa can bearly live here due to inflation. I dont have a degree but im a NES, would i still be able to make around 1k after graduation. Have tou ever met expats teaching online full time this is one of my goals
Waste of time and money. You can get a tefl on groupon for $15 and most employers in Asia won't care whether you spend thousands or ten dollars. I can have you employed very quickly. In Vietnam or Cambodia if you work with me. No degree. I can still get you a job in either country. Even with no tefl. Vietnam pay will be better. Cambodia pay will be worse, but in either situation, I can her you far more than 1k if you are a native speaker. Feel free to reach me on the fb fan page if you are interested in working together. If you can get a refund on that tefl, please definitely do it. It won't make a bit of a difference to an employer.
We have a consulting service for prospective expats for teaching. Vietnam is better, but for living with other incomes or opening a business, Cambodia is better. If you're interested, you can pm me on the Facebook fan page. We can do hourly if you're just looking for advice, or we can do a full consulting service where we provide you with contacts as well as advice.
On the US side, probably the Cambodian banks ask your SSI number, but I know people who have given fake ones and had no problem. Not that I advise that. Of course, I advise following the laws.
Very informative. However, the no-care attitude from the speaker with the cap on is quite disturbing. Not sure if it is the teaching “culture” there or just the wrong attitude towards being a teacher. It’s sad that people don’t value the opportunity, to impart knowledge and connect with others, that teaching abroad offers. I feel like an attitude like this is what destroys the utility of this arrangement.
Cry about it 😢 😪 😭 it's a business, and clowns like you will just get used and thrown away. No one actually wants you to teach ding dong. They want a white face so the parents pay. Reality. You don't like it to save the world somewhere else. There is a reason you're not allowed to fail anyone no matter how bad their English is. It's because it's about money. You are the type to run out of a classroom crying when the reality of teaching in SEA kicks in. Brush yo teef
Sounds like a better life perhaps than teaching in the US where many places are poorly paid and discipline is a monumental problem ? -- Inexpensive living is a huge relief from 'normal' in the US ! -- Not sure how well this will work out when you get old for a retirement income ? With out SS - or - any pension.........
Definitely no pension or retirement income. I recommend teaching people looking to expand their runway for a start-up or something like that. Some people do end up doing it long-term, but I think it's better to have an exit strategy. As for respect, sure, it's probably better than the states. In Vietnam, it's still very normal for the Viet teacher to still hit the kids and scream at them with a mega phone.
I don't know about this whole white this white that lol! I appreciate that he's keeping it real but he makes it sound really depressing, I have lived in South East Asia as a black British woman for a long time and it's not so bad lol! But I think this video was a great idea. Thanks to all three of you for coming together and having this chat. SOOOOO informative and honest. 👍🏾

Do expats live in Wat Bo village in Siem Reap ?
That side of the river is popular but really the whole city is popular for foreigners

Is anything reportable back to the usa if thats where you're from? Want to avoid that.

he was a good interviewer
Appreciate you family!
how do I get a teaching job in camodia
Depends who you know. Where you are. Nationality. Expectations vs. reality.. being in the country physically, obviously.
Ok so I really like the one guy… and the other… not so much. I’ll let you do the math.. pun intended 😂
No one cares...brush yo teef

This isn't an infant heart surgery college.Nobody gets hurt by taking it easy. He does ESL, it's a monkey job and a good one.

Race only matters after passport. Nationality is key for most employers in SEA, and Cambodia, in general, is less racist than Viet Nam.
@@rebornabroadVietnam is one word lol
4mins in, dude swimming hocks a loogie and washes away the evidence
Haha I didn't notice
One man’s normal is another man’s absurd.
I prefer what many would consider absurd.
