I applied at Target right away once I moved to Minnesota, did all of the video responses and filled out everything on the application. It took a few weeks for them to reach out to me, which made me nervous but I finally got a call back yesterday morning and jumped in at the offer right away. I’m so happy and excited about working at a store I’ve always wanted to (I’ve worked in retail for a very long time now, so at least I have experience). I start my orientation in two weeks. ^_^so I just wanted to do a little more research about the benefits and all about the company beforehand.
i’m going to be applying for a job at target, i’m fairly confident that i’ll be able to get it as I worked as a crew member at McDonald’s for almost a year and a LOT of that was customer service based
I applied three days ago 04/16/21. I’m nervous but confident. I’ll update if I get the job or not. LMFAOAOOA I DIDNT GET THE JOB UPDATE: i’ve been working at burlington since June!
I just started as a GM and this is my first time in retail. I've never worked a job similar to retail. All my life I've done heavy labour outside such as construction or painting and I've done numerous cooking jobs so it's a nice change because the job isn't so difficult and it feels nice
@@N60656 of course it's actually a very simple job :) basically what you do is your assigned a section or sections like sports areas or toys, then you fix it up and make it look nice and make sure everything is in the right spot. Then you go in the back and look on a phone they give you and look up what is needed and you grab the items on a cart then take them out and stock them on shelves. It takes a whole shift and it's very simple and easygoing.
just did an interview and got the job, unfortunately it's seasonal and i've seen mix things about being hired as a regular employee. i hope i can become regular especially with the pay increase in a few days
@@alima4113 I ended up quitting. When I applied it was for full time and when I was doing the interview, it wasn’t until after the interview and going home to do paperwork that I realized it was seasonal. Figured I’d go with the flow since they liked that I wanted to do FT hours. Ended up getting only 15-20hrs and was constantly trying to get more hours. It was more trouble than it was worth. They never staff correctly either so lots of late nights. Also my first day, I was giving no details on who’s train me and where to go 🙂
9:20 academics call this emotional labour. Never forget, your paycheck is not related to how hard you work. Some of the lowest paid workers work the hardest in the entire economy.
@@edwardpena9129 Retail has such high turnover. Only a small fraction of people will ever see a raise or especially a promotion. It's also based on favoritism, not how hard you work. Actually, the hard workers are less likely to be promoted at these type of jobs, because then the manager will have to find someone to replace you. This is why these are called dead end jobs.
i work at walmart and we get $12/hour , ive been thinking about applying at target for a while and i love how she included her experience as both a cashier and fitting room associate because here i am an apparel associate & secondary cashier and it honestly does get boring i like cashier a lot more this helped so much ! Walmart in Texas pays $7.35/hour, so yes 10 cents above minimum wage. I don't know why some places pay more. That place didn't even cover the cost of the uniforms, gas, and lunch 😕
@@lexyreds3443 I like it, 0 complaints from me. As gm we deal with making the aisles look nice and presentable(zoning). We deal with a lot of guests(customers), we also do cashier ONLY when called for. And we stock shelfs(pushing truck), and bring items from the front that guest don't want(pushing reshop). We also cover for eachothers breaks a lot. GM is really people oriented so be mindfull of that. Aaand think thats bout it, if you have any more questions just let me know ;)

I applied yesterday and got an email today for an interview. Self scheduled it for tomorrow. Wish me luck 🥺 i’ll actually update if people wanna know lol
Eggy Erin It was pretty long, like a little over an hour( usually other jobs are like 10-15 min in my experience). Had three people interview me for like 10 min with waiting time 15-20 min in between. All of them were pretty nice. Most of the questions are situational, so they just ask what you would do in a situation or what you did in a situation before. I asked one of the interviewers a few questions and she said she loves when interviewees do that
If you haven’t gotten a response I recommend following up call with them! Bothered my Target about when to expect my app to be reviewed, when I will get interview request, and then finally when to expect confirmation email and got the job atlast!
I just had my interview yesterday for beauty consultant 😳 im really nervous but i hope they offer me the position, it sounds kinda cool just hanging around and talking with customers about skincare and makeup and stuff

I just got hired today. I am so shy and luckily they are only doing video interviews (with an automated video clip asking questions, it wasn’t even a real person) and they let you re-record your answers up to 3 times! And I was offered the position over the phone as well :) so easy!!! I feel blessed I feel like target is like Disneyland to me 😂 pray for me not to spend all my check there
i applied for target and didn’t get the job which made me really sad :( they claim they will reach out if there’s another role that fits my needs in the future which i doubt they will and they probably tell people that when they don’t get the job. i’m 16 years old and was extremely committed and confident. it was probably because of my age and the lack of background experience i had. i didn’t want the job RIGHT away, and i wanted the job more in the summer but i didn’t know how to tell them. i just want luck that they will reach back out sometime before summer saying that have a spot. (cashier) i totally understand and i’m trying to not beat myself up for it.
If you have someone in your family or family friends ask them if they could put a word in for you. I got an email back about how I didn’t get the job and stuff (btw it’s a machine that sends that out), but I talked to my girlfriend’s mom (who is the Leader of the Style and Beauty department) and she put a word in for me and I got an interview tomorrow. So just talk to someone you know if they could put a word in for you.

I currently work at target and like what was said in the video all managers and leads are different and all stores operate differently but guys I’ve only been there 6 months and I feel that they overwork you. Mind you I work the truck in the morning at 4 am and my scheduled shift is 6.5 hours. The truck takes at least for my store 2-4 hours depending on volume. Then they expect me to do 8 hours worth of work within the last hours, while everyone who comes in later gets all day to do their work and the managers get mad if or when I don’t finish my work. I have been there only 6 months but since my 3rd month I’ve been looking for another job. Please research the target you are applying/interviewing for and reviews so you know more or less how that store operates. Not saying it will be bad for everyone but be prepared to work extra hard
I started my orientation today for a seasonal cashier and all went well, everyone was nice. Only thing that’s worrisome is they only put me on for two days of training then they said on the weekends I will be the only cashier on. Did they do this to you?? For the "stylist" department do you have to be a certain age, someone with work experience? Or do you have to work at a certain department before you can work there? Also how would you ask?
age requirements are the same as other departments! so in my state that is 16. And nope, you can start in the styling department! Just ask if they have job openings for that position/apply online :)
I just started working at Target. I just had my first shift a couple of days ago. I’m supposed to be working in the fulfillment department, but honestly the first day of training was very overwhelming. Tons of walking and looking for different items in different places, including the back room. I also packaged items to be shipped. Would it make myself look bad if I asked for a different job/department? I feel like I would be more comfortable just working in 1 area. Or should I just stick to what was given to me? I feel like it’s too soon to talk to my team leader. Any advice would be so great!
Might apply there, I like to organize items on shelves and stuff. So just give me the position to organize stuff and you'll get the cleanest shelves ever

I would be honest and say I don't have prior work experience, but then talk about my past accomplishments that have helped me develop people skills + good skills for the job! for example, high school clubs, volunteering/community service, etc!
I just applied to target today!! I hope I got an interview 😭😂
Me toooo. I’m tired of working at subway
i dont think you'd want to be working anymore
Did you?
Pusheen I worked at Subway, I kinda disliked it
Francesca Martinez you apply online
i’m going to be applying for a job at target, i’m fairly confident that i’ll be able to get it as I worked as a crew member at McDonald’s for almost a year and a LOT of that was customer service based
Ooo I had a job at target a few months back that I made a vid on you got this!:)
I applied three days ago 04/16/21. I’m nervous but confident. I’ll update if I get the job or not.

I just started as a GM and this is my first time in retail. I've never worked a job similar to retail. All my life I've done heavy labour outside such as construction or painting and I've done numerous cooking jobs so it's a nice change because the job isn't so difficult and it feels nice
I want to apply for GM can you tell me what you do as GM please?
@@N60656 of course it's actually a very simple job :) basically what you do is your assigned a section or sections like sports areas or toys, then you fix it up and make it look nice and make sure everything is in the right spot. Then you go in the back and look on a phone they give you and look up what is needed and you grab the items on a cart then take them out and stock them on shelves. It takes a whole shift and it's very simple and easygoing.
I'm gonna be applying for Target!!😆
I worked at McDonald's in Washington state and the pay was $14.25, then moved to North Dakota, where the minimum wage is $7.25 😭

Yep. Welcome to red states.
just did an interview and got the job, unfortunately it's seasonal and i've seen mix things about being hired as a regular employee. i hope i can become regular especially with the pay increase in a few days
how did it go?!
Also my first day, I was giving no details on who’s train me and where to go 🙂
I might be getting a job at target. My mom is talking with a job coach to get me hired. Blessed & excited.
You really need a job coach?
I literally cringe every time she says customer, this is what target has done to me
Lmao yesss the first time I applied and was training for the first few days I was like who tf is guests
And she keeps saying employee instead of team member
9:20 academics call this emotional labour. Never forget, your paycheck is not related to how hard you work. Some of the lowest paid workers work the hardest in the entire economy.
But the harder you work related to your growth within the company

Can you give a brief description of what you do as a GM Expert & do you like it?? Thanks in advance!
@@lexyreds3443 I like it, 0 complaints from me. As gm we deal with making the aisles look nice and presentable(zoning). We deal with a lot of guests(customers), we also do cashier ONLY when called for. And we stock shelfs(pushing truck), and bring items from the front that guest don't want(pushing reshop). congratulations 😭 how was the interview
I asked one of the interviewers a few questions and she said she loves when interviewees do that
Eggy Erin and thank you!
Damn i sent in an application tonight hopefully I get a good response! Will keep you guys updated

My heart was beating fast while watching this, like if I were getting this job
Man 😭
i applied for target and didn’t get the job which made me really sad :( they claim they will reach out if there’s another role that fits my needs in the future which i doubt they will and they probably tell people that when they don’t get the job. i’m 16 years old and was extremely committed and confident. it was probably because of my age and the lack of background experience i had. i didn’t want the job RIGHT away, and i wanted the job more in the summer but i didn’t know how to tell them. i just want luck that they will reach back out sometime before summer saying that have a spot.
@@damiancruz602 I know someone who works at a small Target that is 15 miles away from the one I applied to and they are not a leader. Do you think that they could put a word in for me either way? I also don't know if the small Target has connections with the one I applied to.
I just applied to 3 different Targets today! I really hope I’m offered an interview 😭
Did u receive any word so far? Any interviews ?

Any advice would be so great!

question /i need advice : i have an interview in 2 days and this would be my first job so i have no previous work experience ? how would you answer if they asked about previous work experience?
I would be honest and say I don't have prior work experience, but then talk about my past accomplishments that have helped me develop people skills + good skills for the job! for example, high school clubs, volunteering/community service, etc! They'll understand if you don't have prior work experience, I was in the same situation when I first started working at Target. They just want to see that you have experience working with others, and are excited + willing to learn the skills to be a good employee!

target sucks. Worked there for every role except cashier and guest services for almost two years at 2 different stores. They cut your hours to the point 15 an hour still gets you less than walmart, and all the managers ive had are some of the most narcissistic and unsympathetic people you ever met

Same here they said they would email me back after the interview was over. Disappointed I wasn’t hired on the spot but they also told me that they use some third-party hiring company that decides whether I get hired or not. So waiting Igor now for email letting me now if I made it or not
