I love the motherly character Kang Ae-shim plays coming in and saying _exactly_ what moms say. It’s absolutely perfect. She’s doing her best and later she calls Hyun-ju a woman- just in passing like it’s totally obvious. You can see Hyun-ju’s face in that shot and it changes subtly but you can tell that it means a lot for her not only to not be questioned- but to be called a woman casually. I have a lot of trans friends and one of the biggest struggles for them is being correctly identified as their gender from people they care about. It’s good to put in effort! But when it happens organically and casually is something really special.

I think it’s also the foreshadowing of the recruiter giving the homeless bread or lottery tickets that really set the tone of the theme for this season. The risk of the choice of gambling and the greed that comes with it. It makes for top notch storytelling. So I can’t wait to see what the writers have in store for season 3
The number 388 did join the marine, but he is the 1140 class number marine which means he joinned the marine XX-04-2011. How about in S1 the mastermind granpa played the team string pull game? What was the strategy if his team lost then how could he make out from falling? Or was he 100% sure his team will win..?
This game honestly might be my favourite yet as its such a great blend of physical skills, patience and teamwork that is still very suspenseful and terrifying to watch. I honestly think that Il-Oh/aka 001 was trying to sabotage his team but I also think he genuinely enjoyed playing the games again since I imagine he hasn't done that in years before becoming the Frontman and became so empy and devoid of humanity after the passing of his wife and stillborn child. He honestly might be the most interesting character because I think for a small second he actually had fun for once enjoying the comradery of the game and connecting to the other characters.
I didnt think of 001's big speech at the vote as him wanting to believe in Gi Hun, rather doing that in an attempt to make his point to Gi Hun- that people never change. Even later on in this ep where theyre setting up to sleep under the bunks, 001 says smth like "People wouldnt do go about killing each other just for the money to go up" and makes Gi Hun recall everything that happened. In fact, I would NOT be surprised if season 3 ends with Gi Hun being a new frontman or even a new VIP cause the entire time, 001 has been trying to subtly convince Gi Hun to enjoy the money and shit I truly saw that moment at the vote as as a "Look, these people are truly pathetic. You dont belong here with them and I'll show you that"
Anything is possible, but it will probably be something in between if that makes sense. He won’t be a new frontman but he will have to trade off something at the end I feel.
With a show depicting how much the system sucks and how it takes advantage of people it would be really weird and bad to have your main character, who's entire beliefs go against the system and what it stands for, to then join that system and be at the head of it. I don't think the show's message would be that cynical to say there's no changing system which sucks and the only way to get anywhere is to fuck everyone else over and kill your way to the top.
@@lucasdolding6924nope. It would be perfectly in line with this show. The creator has said over and over and over and over that this show is a direct reflection of society’s problems, especially the problems that come with the systems we have. It’s not a morally uplifting story, it’s not an inspiring one, it’s a reflection. Having the idealist get broken down so bad that the joins the system happens all the time in reality. The creator also said that S3 will see a whole new side of Gi-Hun. He said we saw the goofy down on his luck gi-hun in S1, the motivated (but ultimately broken down) gi-hun in S2 who wants to be good and be a hero, but S3 will show a brand new side of him. The only side left to show is the one where he “becomes bad” aka joins the system. The creator has stated this show is a reflection of society’s problems, and if that makes the audience upset, then the show did its job because problems of real life should be upsetting.
honestly I think I'm way more invested with this round of players than last season (I still miss Sae-byuk and Ali dearly)... which will just make any eventual death heartbreaking (I've only watched up to this ep and Im scared to continue 😭)
@@AlessaParker same here (although I’ve finished this season). I started legit crying when Unnie (can’t remember their real name) told their story. So heartbreaking.
I think I’m invested in more characters than I was in season 1. Ali and Sae-byuk were heartbreaking deaths, but they were the only ones that I felt really attached to. This season I feel attached (forgive me, I can’t remember everyone’s name) to the old lady, the pregnant girl, the young marine, the transgender girl, and even the crypto guy in some ways.
Yes but if they had failed, would they have really shot the front man? The guards all knew it was him. They prob would have faked it like the old man in season 1
I bet Frontman has been in Gi-Hun's feet before... With the same mental conflict, but he was convinced by Il-nam. I really want to see some backstory in season 3
Im impressed the trans storyline was done this well (not perfect but for a korean show it is quite good) Korea isnt the most accepting country, i did cry in this episode "Now that i spent time woth you, you look fine" a old person trying and not being hateful even if they dont understand always makes me emotional, as there are so many younger people that are hateful, I expect the same or worse from older generations all the time, so it is a breath of fresh air when I'm proven wrong by someone
It was way better than I expected it to be I thought it would just be a rethread and unnecessary cash grab but they put some thought and care into it. Still nowhere near as good as season 1 though
The problem here is two folds. The cast I feel is larger this time around, and has a lot to juggle with developing and solidifying their character traits and flaws. Thus, it ate up a ton of time and some of them didn't really have satisfying payoffs from their fates/demises. Just like the first season where the show was at the strongest for nearly 3/4 of it, it did end up rushing the end point and caused some missteps for an otherwise solid end to that season. Here, we get a weird action driven episode that ends literally on a massive cliffhanger on the level of frustration as Across The Spiderverse. At least with this, we can expect the second and final part to be within 6-9 months. But we shouldn't have to wait that long for it.
I noticed that too. I believe his left hand is his dominant hand, but he intentionally threw with the right hand in the beginning. I would love to hear the commentary for that scene.
Frontman is left-handed. During S1 he was only using his left hand, even when he shot his brother. So in this game, when he kept on missing he was using his right hand. He only won when he used his left hand.
Im gonna take a guess that with Daeho's reaction in the last episode that he was abused as a kid. His father must habe been very strict and forced him to join the marines when all he wanted to do was play games with his sister. His father may have been trying to control his destiny.
Both can correlate to how he ends up freezing up and reverting hard to his childlike demeanor, and ending up costing a few lives for it. Either way, expect more of these characters to get off definitely in games #4 & #5.
I think the whole purpose for the frontman to come down and play with gi-hun is to show him no matter how much he tries the world is broken and it isn't going to change no matter what. When he gave the speech at the voting maybe he wanted to make Gi-hun realize that people will keep on being greedy and continue to play even if it comes at the cost of others death or worse yet even theirs therefore solidifying his views about the games being morally correct since bar the first game contestants are always given the chance to quit
When 001 comes up to tell everyone to stop the game. First, I'm sure he realizes that 456 has been warned about interrupting the vote, so he steps up to avoid him killed. Second, I think he wants 456 to realize that the majority of the people would still want to continue even after facing another bloody game.
Hyun-Ju (Player 120) somehow won me over with her storyline. While she is a fictional character, she is beautiful to me, both on the outside, and on the inside. In spite of society treating her less than human, I feel like she needs to find the good in people, otherwise, what's the point? I'm rooting for her all the way.

See how 001 intentionally kept messing up the Spinning top? He kept using his right hand. During the final spin, when he got it right, he's using the left. He's left-handed.
I also love that I can't quite figure out In-ho's drive in this situation. it's fascinating and kept me glued to the screen for the rest of the season. I have to say that watching your empathy for Hyun-joo has been so refreshing. I love her character, and I look forward to seeing your reactions to what they do with her in the next two episodes.
7:04 that’s the thing about Frontman… all of the tension, the drama, the inspiration that these games demand out of the players … all of that make the games important and worth believing in: 120 couldn’t be a leader in the “normative” culture, but Frontman would argue their quality emerges here in the crucible of these games 12:57 also, thank goodness they have a practiced martial artist doing this stunt 😅
The front man is proving a point to our main character. Until we the people are ready to stand together, we will never win. We are our own worst enemy.
I really like this game in season 2, especially when other groups are cheering for them, showing that deep inside there are connections between humans and not everyone is A-holes, some people are just in desperate positions.
I like that this season is a lot more collaborative from all the contestants, it's enjoyable that they all don't just want to kill each other instantly.
Mom and Son Duo are my favorite characters this season right next to Thanos and 001. This game is one of my favorites of the season due to the crowd cheering on the players. Such a contrast from last season where people were very much out for themselves for the most part. Hot take:am i the only one who kinda saw this coming? She repeatedly was warned to stop interfering with the Side hustle operating in the Games and she disoobeyed her commander, who knows about the side hustle, to his face. Im not saying she deserves to be assaulted but she should've expected some sorta of payback. Shes operating in a group of criminals if you think about it so she really shouldve thought smarter and minded her business if she didnt want to be involved. As a famous James Cameron Quote is put "If you cant get out of it,get into it." Also i absolutely loved the voting process from season 1 and the fact they made it such a huge part of season 2 was legitimately so satisfying to me. Seeing the Divide between the ones wanting to just survive and the ones who need more is both relatable and so telling of the conflict
This was my favourite of the games too. I love mom and son but I HATE Thanos, sorry. He was mostly a fun character but way he slips in and out of English phrases got on my nerves and they gave him zero growth. Considering he was a K-Pop star though, he’s a very good actor.
Thanos made me cringe, but hey he had confidence, so i'll give dude a pass. He's also kinda funny. And yeah, i can see many people are liking the son and mom duo, they're so wholesome.
That playground group match was so intense. The people who made it all had like 1-2 seconds left. This was also an excellent episode for character development. This season is so gas....I just wish it was 9 eps just like season 1. It ended too fast and I wanted more :(
Bread and Lottery holds true even to this episode. They COULD take the bread after the game and get to live. But yet they choose Lottery which the vast majority doesn't win. It truly is gambling. I love how In-ho first made the game continue to break Gi-hun and place the blame on him. Now he even speaks up to make people stop the games to further drive the point home that people will always continue gambling even with their lives. He's breaking Gi-hun.
42:36 so Thanos is actually a Kpop rapper named T.O.P and he was in this band named big bang and one of the choreography for one of the songs was what he was doing with the dance or that's what people are thinking
The plain milk line was the same as Gi Hun used in the first one when he said he wanted chocolate milk. Majority of the characters are the same as the first one played by different people. I binged this on Netflix last night.

9:45 that song name is titled "To You", written by the late Shin Hae Chul and first performed in 1988. It's an ICONIC song used in many sporting events in the country.
In Korea, gong-gi is mainly considered as a girl’s game. It’s a game that requires certain skills, so even if someone dabbled in it, it won’t work out the way they expect. Therefore, someone being that skilled at gong-gi would mean that they had practiced it quite a lot.
10:34 i think this is one take.. buuuut i think the moment the camera goes down view on the board they swap for a pro gong-gi player. and then swap back. its the easiest most affordable solution. anything you can film without editing you'd want to do. as that is the most time consuming most expensive and most likely to look awkward.
In case anyone doesn’t know, this is a split season. The second half has already been filmed and will either come late 2025 or early 2026. Hopefully they don’t make us wait too long.
Those mini games were crazy and if I had to choose which one to play I would choose the second one with the throwing stones because I run a tin can game on the fairgrounds so I've got a fairly decent throwing arm
Now I've seen someone else point this out from another channel but the "Front Man" who's playing the game with Gi-Hun and the rest intentionally messed up the Spinning Top game because and it's very subtle but when he initially throws the top he does it with his right hand as well as the other attempts but when he finally does pass, he does it with his lefthand which is his dominant hand. Very clever detail in the show.
Honestly i think in ho might start to become conflicted in season 3 the way he was rooting for people to live in this second game and the hope gi hun is showing throughout and how he keeps worrying for the pregnant girl seems to me like it might somewhat cause conflict with his systemic viewpoint after being front man for so long
It actually would be super cool if they continue with the one take until the game ends. But I guess the third mini game is very difficult to finish in one take 😅
I know it's not the exact currency conversion, but as an American, I usually just drop the last 3 zeros to try and imagine the worth of the prize money.. $78k would be more than enough for me to leave with my life lol
I hope someone has told you by now that Thanos is T.o.P from Big Bang - one of the biggest Kpop groups of the 2010s . they're no longer together now, but everyone knows them (or of them) lol
I feel like Min-su might have a change in character. Maybe he'll snap from being pushed around too much and the stress and pressure of being in the games. Maybe he'll develop an assertiveness where he refuses to be pushed around anymore. Maybe his hairstyle will go from straight and slick that matches his innocent, meek persona, to maybe more punk to match his new found wild streak.
As evil as the frontman is and as two faced as he is he makes a valid point he was in Gi Huns shoes when he won and he now knows why it’s impossible to stop

Im gonna take a guess that with Daeho's reaction in the last episode that he was abused as a kid. His father must habe been very strict and forced him to join the marines when all he wanted to do was play games with his sister. His father may have been trying to control his destiny.
or if he just have ptsd from the Marines
That's exactly what it is
I think he just protected him from the guards. It was said - no interference during the vote. No one dare shooting the boss
When 001 comes up to tell everyone to stop the game. First, I'm sure he realizes that 456 has been warned about interrupting the vote, so he steps up to avoid him killed. Second, I think he wants 456 to realize that the majority of the people would still want to continue even after facing another bloody game.
Your right he was proving him right right infront of his eyes thats why he was standing in that frame alone
Ultimate twist, the baby is born and wins the games, no one saw that coming!
Best twist😂😂😂😂
I have a gut feeling if they do a variation of Monkey Bars, that's gonna be how that character gets offed.
@theprowler18 Nah, the baby will use the umbilical cord to Indiana Jones across it in record time.
i loved the race and mini games one so much.. seeing the people all cheer for each other made me emotional lol
You’re feeding into the propaganda. Nice.
@@sharpshoota8274 Oh I see we have a transphobe on board. Take your lincoln logs elsewhere, ya infant. This is a conversation for adults.
@@sharpshoota8274 “propaganda” lol
@@rachelMB nice. Didn’t even have a counter response. You’re obviously feeding into it. It’s ok, this is the denial stage. There’s not much more I need to say about it, hope you’re enjoying her/his character 😂
@sharpshoota8274 for real though 😂 Me and my wife rolled our eyes so hard during that scene
It pisses me off that they won't have the balls to off him, Netflix really can't help themselves
Common sense in high stress environments is alot like what Mike Tyson said, "Everyone has a plan, until you get punched in the face.."
My wife is Korean, and she was singing along to that song at the end!
001 stressing us all out during the spinning top game :'''')
Throwing it backwards is truly a skill
7:04 that’s the thing about Frontman… all of the tension, the drama, the inspiration that these games demand out of the players … all of that make the games important and worth believing in: 120 couldn’t be a leader in the “normative” culture, but Frontman would argue their quality emerges here in the crucible of these games
12:57 also, thank goodness they have a practiced martial artist doing this stunt 😅
The front man is proving a point to our main character. Until we the people are ready to stand together, we will never win. We are our own worst enemy.
Woo hoo! This and ep 6 are my favorites, cant wait to see the reactions!
I love the circle workers so much like how could you not when they do this
🙆♂️🙅♂️🙆♂️🙅♂️🙆♂️❤️
32:17 if you look up the actor, he actually participated in a rap contest and forgot the lyrics 😂
25:00 that's why 120 was very affected, indirectly killing her friend by voting O
I binged the series as soon as it came out and I love watch you guys’ reactions just to rewatch 😭
You’d think they want to see each other lose but they are cheering. Probably the most feel good moment in the entire series.
I'm definitely gonna be hearing that ring-a-ring song in my nightmares 💀
1:27 That wasn't the girl who beat the salesman. It's player 222, Jun-Hee
yeah, he got it wrong lol
@@97MistysMushroomssYeah Greg corrected himself later on at 9:58
456 has a hero complex. I believe 001 jumped in and stepped in his speech to steal his moment. 456 genuinely believes he’s the only voice of reason.
42:35 The actor is a former member of the legendary K-pop group Big Bang. The dance he did was a dance move in their hit song Bang Bang Bang
wasnt it from Taeyang's Ringa Linga?
I really like this game in season 2, especially when other groups are cheering for them, showing that deep inside there are connections between humans and not everyone is A-holes, some people are just in desperate positions.
42:36 bang bang bang
it's funny how he does it when the song is going "ringa-ringa-ring" and Taeyang had a song called Ringa Linga lmao
As a famous James Cameron Quote is put "If you cant get out of it,get into it."
Also i absolutely loved the voting process from season 1 and the fact they made it such a huge part of season 2 was legitimately so satisfying to me.
@velvetra29 just a wacky wildcard. Definitely added some humor to this situation.
I always was wondering "ok where is Thanos in this game "
@dominiqueodom3099 When he danced with his friend in the Mingle game, that's my favorite funny moment of him.
Not my favorite, but I appreciate that they are a foil for Gi-hun and his own mother

I love your reaction, you guys are good watchers but I did not find many related series on the channel. I will look forward for more videos or hoping you guys do more mass movie/series
He failed on purpose. He is so sadistic.
9:45 that song name is titled "To You", written by the late Shin Hae Chul and first performed in 1988. It's an ICONIC song used in many sporting events in the country.
The Song is "To You" of a legendary Korean rocker(Shin hae chul) in 90s :)
Let's go!!! Just gone wandering on UA-cam and finally got a new episode!
I love how the music is up beat but the moment 01 messes up at the top game the music just stop
Storm Shadow is just mind f-ing everyone with what he's doing. All strategy.
Have to be patient and not panic with these games I see
I turned to my friend during this episode and said “democracy was a mistake” XD
T.O.P (aka Thanos) was just busting out his 'Bang, Bang, Bang' moves from his idol days with Big Bang 😂
The Front Man purposely messed up in the game to make himself look less suspicious in front of his team
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤ Happy Holidays ❤
Hyunju slapping the shaman and threatening her is one of the most satisfying scenes in the series. Love her.
I've waited here for you guys everlong
"I thought it was common sense to walk backwards," that's exactly what I said!
By the thumbnail you guys are crying but I don’t remember that when watching along
21:48 that caught me off guard lmao
Kudos to you guys for watching the original and not the dubbed version.
26:12 he HAS been this debate before. Remember in season 1 when they left the game…. And then chose to go back?
Now I've seen someone else point this out from another channel but the "Front Man" who's playing the game with Gi-Hun and the rest intentionally messed up the Spinning Top game because and it's very subtle but when he initially throws the top he does it with his right hand as well as the other attempts but when he finally does pass, he does it with his lefthand which is his dominant hand. Very clever detail in the show.
Honestly i think in ho might start to become conflicted in season 3 the way he was rooting for people to live in this second game and the hope gi hun is showing throughout and how he keeps worrying for the pregnant girl seems to me like it might somewhat cause conflict with his systemic viewpoint after being front man for so long
This season is WILD
It actually would be super cool if they continue with the one take until the game ends. But I guess the third mini game is very difficult to finish in one take 😅
I know it's not the exact currency conversion, but as an American, I usually just drop the last 3 zeros to try and imagine the worth of the prize money.. $78k would be more than enough for me to leave with my life lol
I hope someone has told you by now that Thanos is T.o.P from Big Bang - one of the biggest Kpop groups of the 2010s . they're no longer together now, but everyone knows them (or of them) lol
Hyun-ju unnie is the MVP for me. She's my favorite
How can you watch SO MANY movies and TV shows and still not recognize when a manipulative character like the Frontman is being manipulative?? 😭
You can see that 001 intentionally messed up, he's left handed as you can see when he succeeded to throw it
11 minutes ago was crazy
Yes it's me. Another Crying banger from the Crying thumbnail boys. 😂 I'm dedicating a crying thumbnail page keep up the good work.
26:23 remember he WON the games before, and that is why he is the frontman.
Notice how the frontman was using his non dominant hand up until the point where he does it correctly. It was intentional.
Great show..nice. reactions
20:08 As John said they announced this season and showed the subtitles of the rules when they signed.
even the pink guards never knows that he is their boss/ frontman..
18:34 no one realise the coincidence of his name meaning his number but they don’t get to choose their number
I feel like Min-su might have a change in character. Maybe he'll snap from being pushed around too much and the stress and pressure of being in the games. Maybe he'll develop an assertiveness where he refuses to be pushed around anymore. Maybe his hairstyle will go from straight and slick that matches his innocent, meek persona, to maybe more punk to match his new found wild streak.
bros enjoying too much, forgot he's the front man 🤣
This episode reminded me so much of the past election..IYKYK
That milk line was important because in season one the old man said his son doesn't like milk...😏
As evil as the frontman is and as two faced as he is he makes a valid point he was in Gi Huns shoes when he won and he now knows why it’s impossible to stop
