- I don't think I've ever been described as particularly... chill. My heightened anxiety, both socially and in general has been something I've had to deal with a lot. But what if any and all fear, shame, and anxiety suddenly up and went away? In this Sanders Sides video, that very thing has happened, and we do our best to reason out the potential upsides to anxiety, whether or not its a good thing to have it back.
I want to thank my absolutely AMAZING friends, Joan and Talyn. Not only did they help me write this episode, they helped me create props, build set, and assisted with special effects. They also offered their own insight into having increased anxiety and panic attacks. Their input was invaluable to the creation of this video.

I like how each side gets anxious in a way that reflects the portion of Thomas’s personality that they represent. Logan is hyperactivity nerdy, Roman is anxious about his performance, and Patton… is just a mess.

Maybe something like a bandage, because sometimes staying alert can be damaging in some way, but its mostly helpful and keeps you safe.
Like how bandages keep the wound safe, yet could cause things to heal improperly sometimes.

Actually when Logan was corrupted he was always trying to stay in control and was mad when others took control, but worse than normal.
Basically, the corrupted Sides have the bad parts of them enhanced and the good parts weakened...

He then said, "You all just screamed in unison apon seeing me."
But Patton didn't scream because he showed up so suddenly, he screamed because
"AHHHH!!!! I THINK ONE OF THEM MOVED!!"
He thought a spider moved, he was the only one not scared by Virgil appearing like that.
Can we just appriciate that this man stands in his living, room talking to nobody in front of a camera and a bunch of his friends, wearing a prince costume. Thomas is a legend.

As someone who has been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, seeing how the Sides accept Virgil for who he is is really comforting. I had to work to understand my anxiety better and to work with it. I’ve made a lot of progress. I’ve gotten to the point where it’s been months since my last panic attack.

Since I haven't seen a comment point this out I am going to:
Virgil is kind of a telling name. In the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, the main character Dante is guided through Hell (and purgatory, if my memory is correct) by an ancient poet named Virgil. Virgil in the story sorta serves as his protector and tour-guide.
Okay so I literally came here because I'm hyper fixated on Sanders Sides and I really needed to hear Roman's speech. I'm playing the main character in my first ever theater performance, and I had to have my lines memorized for rehearsal today and I kind of crammed them all in the past two days, and I'm really anxious, but like. This helped. I dunno. I'm happy.

Okay, but I want to talk about something.
The different representations of Anxiety in this video are amazing. Like Roman, I am bouncy and bubbly when I'm anxious. I bounce around I make jokes to force myself to interact.
But one of my friends is like Logan, using facts to justify their anxiety and that's also very important.
Some people work anxiety sure actually like Anxiety. Theyre just calm and collected and no one can tell.
And some people are like Patton. They cry and they are always scared.
All four are valid. I'm just so happy that Thomas put all of these representations in this video. Because for me, jittery girl who people don't think can have anxiety, is important.
