How do we make the wings continuously flap? Would we need to replace the 1x2 beam with a 1x3 beam and then center the pin?

I love the realistic movement of the wings. When I saw this in my "recommended" i thought it would be constant repeating up and down flapping. I'm amazed by how much this looks like movements of a real butterfly that just sat on something.

Cheers, glad you appreciate it! I built a version where the wings flap continuously, but it definitely does not look right.

I love the "no hands" style of building in this video. It's so clean and pleasing to watch as the project grows all by itself.

You.. you mean the stop motion photography? this was what we did in the 80s with hand held VHS camcorders to make transformers transform or make Gijoe beat up cobra etc or what 90% of Christmas specials used to made with using clay figures

@@IrishStoner I've known what stop motion photography is since watching Rudolph as a kid, but I was talking about not having his hands flash in and out of the pictures and obscuring the construction like most speed building videos do.

Loved the clicking of pieces timed to the music. Such a fun touch.

Don't underestimate how enjoyable it is to hear the pieces squeeze, squeak and snap together. But more importantly, great work once again.

Another wonderfully simple design. It would be great if Lego would produce moving models, but I am not sure if they would be as good as yours!

The Harry Potter owl and phoenix are very similar, especially with how they are wound. Wasn’t sure this was a rip off those sets to be honest

I always love your kinetic builds because they look beautiful and move very elegantly. When you clipped on the long bars to modify the constant rotation into occasional movement, I said "You genius" out loud to my computer screen - I really shouldn't be surprised by your understanding of motion transference and modification by now, but it still hits me time and time again.

I built this earlier today. I had to augment it a tad because I didn't have any of the larger gear wheels. So I substituted those with the smaller ones, used a slightly longer axle and a small spacer to make up for the size difference. It actually worked. Your builds are brilliant. Far beyond my sense of imagination or concept of mechanics.
