I love this album. The superfast, super pissed off stuff is killer. Also, the slow breakdowns with that gnarly, crusty, brooding bass are absolutely fucking awesome, too
My absolute favorite hardcore band and record of all time, it doesn't get better than this. Much love from Los Angeles to all my Bostonian hardcore brothers and sisters.
Love all thse bands, mid 80s in ex Yugoslavia, it was a thrill to get tapes, fanzines, records. The postman was my favorite ring on the bell. Fuck, 40 years later and still love that shit. Jast saw D.R.I. in Pula, Croatia, i wish it was '82
Eighteen unbelievable, blistering, ultra breakneck speed tracks in just 16 minutes and 14 seconds. This has got to be the shortest album ever recorded. Most of the numbers last just under a minute and the longest VFW is an epic 2 minutes and 36 seconds. The LP is raw, manic, mental, intense and ferocious to the hilt. It is absolutely awesome. This is out and out hardcore thrash at its most demented. It should be played very loud, even at the wrong speed, as well as the other thrash core punk bands like the Decendents and the Dirty Rotten Imbeciles. I like to believe these extreme punk acts are secret guilty pleasures of the likes of Gary Davies, Steve Wright, Mike Smith and Adrian John. I wished John Peel persuaded those four wankers to expose them to a wider audience during the 1980s as a change from the usual Wham, Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran.
Back in the days, i was straight edge and vegeterian. Now, i'm disilussioned and stoned. Working on getting drunk. Pathetic, i know. Great hardcore, always loved Boston, L.A. too
A lot of people don't realize that this whole album was recorded back in 1982, and was just shelved until 1984 (yet it was still ahead of its time when it was released). Parts of this album might have been completed before even DRI or Deep Wound made their first recordings.
30 years old
Listening for the first time

One of my favourite hardcore albums from the 80ies.
My absolute favorite hardcore band and record of all time, it doesn't get better than this. Much love from Los Angeles to all my Bostonian hardcore brothers and sisters.
Cant believe they're actually performing this March...cant wait
They cancelled...
i know dude such fucking bullshit smh should have known lol@@TotalFuckingHate
The pissed off, angry Negative Approach brand of hardcore played at the speed of the Neos and early DRI. Awesome album.
Boston hardcore at it's finest...pretty much played alongside bands like SSD, Jerry's kids, and gang green!
Spot on comparison.
Boston baby! They had their own sounds, to me at least.

I made this album cover into a t shirt “87” in art class , everybody was scared !
Thank you for posting this. I think this is greatest record ever recorded. It should be archived by the Library of Congress.
Fuck congress

Jack "Choke" Kelly is a boston hardcore legend...keep fighting the good fight, brother!
I think maturity is realizing the slow parts were actually the best parts.

New York, Boston and DC all had great bands but LA Hardcore rules.

DC > Boston > NY > LA
Karl Lykos at least give Age of Quarrel another listen. It is a unique weird and very good record.
