Just noticed on Tekton's website that they've updated their 1/2" impact sockets with both laser and stamped markings. They also mention that they'll release their updated 3/8" impact sockets in 2021, most likely having the laser and stamped markings.
I am a DIYer, not a pro. I recently bought 3/8" metric and SAE shallow and deep to go with a new 3/8 impact. So far so good. Seem well made. My 1/2" are old Craftsman that have taken a beating over the years so nothing bad to say about them (25+year old USA stuff). What little I currently have from Tekton, I have been favorably impressed with for the price. Likely to buy more. Looks like I maybe I should have waited based on TTT's reply to Eric Soto Hernadez....oh well.
It’s just my personal preference, I don’t want to worry about the laser etching fading down the road, it’s an investment, sure it’s a small and cheap (but good quality) one, but I want the best for my money’s worth (well, what I can spare from my budget).
Haha ya from what I talked to them about at the pri show last year they stated alot of good changes coming this year as well as se new tools. As we have recently seen. So those should be coming soon. 👍👍👍
Im pretty impressed with tekton. I've been using their impact sockets since 2018. The 17mm and 19mm look beat up but aren't rounding off yet. I had to warrantee my tekton torque wrench last Wednesday and i got my replacement on sunday. Good prices, quality and warrantee. You can't really go wrong.
Completely agreed and that's great to hear. Thanks for sharing your experience. That's actually one tool I hope they update is the torque wrenches. I have 2 of them and they are good but just the classic design. Hopefully they will come up with a new design like they did with the ratchets
@@TonyTheTechnician i have their long handle double box end flex head 6 point wrenches. They are great but I'd love to see them come out with a version with an offset on the head like the mountain, ez red & carlyle sets have.
I've used them for a Yr straight in a Professional environment 3/8" and 1/2" Drive Deep and shallow on both sets and I do have a large extended selection of impact sockets from SNAP-ON, Matco, Grey Pneumatic, Steelman Pro ,Milwaukee, and a few old USA Craftsman but I do like the Tekton's and that the fact of there no skip full sets. I Haven't broken or cracked a socket yet just as well as I have not rounded anything off with them neither..I also have there impact graded Torx set also and I absolutely haven't had not one issue with them .They are a Great buy for weather a new Technician or simply just a weekend warrior DYI'ER. I for certainly recommend them
Very nice that's great to hear. Thank you for sharing your experience with them. It's very much appreciated and it's great to hear they have worked well for you. That's what I like to hear!!
I have a bunch of there impact sockets and I’ve been 100% satisfied. I use mine every day all day and yes a few are getting a bit harder to read but I keep them in the organizer tray that also is labeled with sizes. I actually lost my 5/16” deep 3/8” socket and contacted them about purchasing it separately and they mailed me one for free.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with them I always appreciate your input and that's great to hear!!! That's awesome they sent you a new one. It's things like that, that really show how much a company cares.
Im a diesel tech and I have tekton's 1/2 drive impact in deep standard, shallow metric and standard and they are awesome. I also have their 1/2 drive 25" ratchet and 25" 1/2 drive extension and everything that i have from them is top notch
Good video. Better deal than hf. I like to able to buy individual sockets to double up on commonly used sizes. The laser marketing does not wear off it must be ground off. Worked with laaer marking in prior job.
I got the 1/2” Tektons and decided not to get the 3/8” because of this. My 1/2” laser etching is already coming off. I got the Capri 3/8 master set. I still love Tekton tho I was disappointed in this one instance.
I have the metric 12 point deep and shallow 14 piece sets not sure why but these two sets both have skips in them and I can not buy the individual ones that I need to make them a complete set wish they would fix this great video and Go Big Red
👍 you might try emailing or contacting to make sure they don't have them. I'm wondering if it's just those sets or if they are sizes that aren't used like 31. Either way I hope they can provide an answer. Thank you for watching and commenting
Hay Tony I was wondering what you used for your racing stripes are they decals or where they painted on because i got a 88 camaro and i wanted to put that same racing stripe designed on my car
Own em. Best bang for your buck.
👍👍👍
I have 3/8 6pt deep and shallow 6mm-24mm sets. Love them. I don't have 1/4 12pt sockets and will be getting that set soon.
Very nice. Great to hear and ya that little 12pt 1/4 set saved me big time lol

Yes indeed I believe they released those about 2 or 3 months ago 👍

Very nice and very true. They are not easy to remove for sure!! And ya it's smart to double up on those common sizes. Thanks for sharing 👍
I’m holding off on buying impact sockets until Tekton stamps them like Sunex or Capri tools
That should be this year I do believe 👍
I bought the Tekton combination impact set and a couple of them had rust on the laser etched parts when I opened the box.
@@donniestoolthoughts9209 warranty them or ask whoever you bought them from for a new set. They probably got wet. No reason to have that

Mine are painted in. The previous owner painted it. Vinyl wrap would be a more affordable option.
Sucks they don't ship to my location 😕
Do you have a friend they can ship it to and then maybe your friend can ship it to you?
I really hope they engrave the new sockets that’s a big reason why I didn’t go that wayv
That should be coming soon 👍
Honestly for the price, I don't think these sockets can be beaten.
Your right they are great sockets for a great price
Do u know when they will release 90th comfort grip ratchets?
I'm not sure yet about the comfort grips. I'll make sure to ask
Why no 1/4"?
Anyone who says Tekton can not be used professionally obviously doesn’t own any.
Absolutely agreed!!!! Either that or they really really don't know how to use tools lol.
I don't like the double size sockets
I've always stayed away from them. But not all sets are like that. Mainly sunnex and grey pneumatic does that.
