Student loans would be fine if there was a price cap on tuition. Student loans create an imbalance on the supply of money to 18 year olds. There is an "unlimited" fund they can tap so colleges don't have price pressures. Colleges must accept a tuition cap if they accept any federal financial aid, kind of like Medicare prices.
There needs to be skin in the game for the students so they aren't career students. But leaving college with 10 to 20 in loans would be totally manageable and worth it.

Never forget that 90% of your peers were totes cool with college. They even paid whatever they were told to pay. If they are even the least bit regretful it’s because they didn’t get the money they thought they’d get 🤷‍♂️

Because, they build a stadium, it pays for itself in a year, then it's pure profit to them.

This drips of woke biases. If I were on his promotion committee, I would get him to provide more balance to the many unmentioned other factors here. Such as, to name a few. 1) Concommitant weight for the trades, as is finally beginning, due to expensive useless bachs. {Gender studies, theatre, sociology anyone?} 2)the enormous money spent on (male, until now) sports, infrastructure, etc. Even though over 50% of my PhD NHI grants went to so called infrastructure. 3) Such loan cancellation would make lives better---not those of others who tried to succeed without college, viz, in business, farming, military, and so on. 4)the enormous increase in administrative staff in secondary ed. In some cases outnumbering the profesorial and student bodies. 5) making secondary ed available to all. NO! Making some education etc. so (volunteers teaching in better business programs, better 4H clubs, loans for younger farmers {organic} to purchase land.), etc. 6) In many countries, a much samaller percentage of higher school attendees enter university, with mant others following the above guidelines (apprenticeships, etc). PLUS---The folks who struggle here under vastly underfunded above listed ideas, really resent loan forgiveness for English majors. Sports in Europe are much less funded by secondary ed student and so called grant overhead. My German/Mexican UNI med school sports clubs were more private entities, a part of Verbindungen (fraternities). Finally, suicidal ideation and completed suicides are as to the causal etiological loops vastly more complicated than having loan debt, a useless degree and living in Mar Mar's basement. Step out of the woke law school, and into the equally woke Yale med and PH schools to see. In the latter, faculty psychiatrists actually wrote of diagnoses for our awesome newly elected POTUS, sans physical and MH evals, lab data, family history assessments. and so on. Breaking all the rules. Get real.

How could someone like you with so many logic flaws: name calling, zero-sum thinking, and false dilemmas deserve to be on any promotion committee?
