Dale is extremely underrated as an interviewer. He asks fantastic questions to get his guests talking. Questions that we haven't heard before a thousand times.
Was just thinking that same thing.
He also lets people speak without interrupting which is tougher then you think
@@superbandit77 this is the truth. He does it well.
Absolutely agree. I get fully engrossed in every one of his shows. He's smart as heck too.
He’s very articulate
Dale's natural decency simply comes across all day long.
"You can take that one to Alaska, it ain't gonna check" 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
That was f****n hilarious!!!
Loved it!!
I'm surprised Ol' Harry Hyde didn't shrug his shoulders & say "Try Siberia King, probably best place for both you & the engine next few days" 😉 LOL! Harry had a great sense of humor, The King too for that matter, the big difference between Harry & Richard was Harry was a Legendary Smartass, with a razor sharp tongue!
🤔...damn, jus think, Richard Petty with Harry Hyde as his Crew-Chief & Mr H for an Owner! Oh man, what might have been. 😭!!!
Blows ANY other NASCAR related show out of the water, period.
And most sports shows. I don't follow NASCAR much anymore, but this is a great show.
Coffee With Kyle is also, very good.
including the races themselves.
@@ridged8 I seriously wish that was a podcast.
Yep
"A little faster than your dad"
"Bullcrap"
🤣🤣
This is a side of Mr H that I never seen before..I enjoyed this interview.
Rick's really a great guy...
I loved the part when Rick said he drove faster than Dale Earnhardt in that test! 😂
Rick Hendrick has epic team building skills! No wonder he’s such a great team owner! Another awesome podcast by Dale Jr.
A little faster than your Dad. Lol good laughs
Dale is extremely underrated as an interviewer. He asks fantastic questions to get his guests talking. Questions that we haven't heard before a thousand times.
Junior's got a way of bringing out the best stories. I guess being a good dude brings out the best in guests...
I agree
He’s a natural
His guest's TRUST him 😉👍
I could listen to these stories all day. I never knew there were so many back stories. I have been a fan since I was a kid and loved Fireball Roberts. I miss the personalities of the past.
billy lee Fireball was my first favorite driver . I was probably ten years old.
@billy lee 100% agreed, these stories are GOLD. So glad they are being told and captured on this platform.
I think it is safe to say, we are just scratching the surface in "back stories"!!!
One of the things I’ve always liked about Jr is the way he shows respect to others. You rarely see him being rude or disrespectful ( unless he’s on the radio when he was racing lol). That’s so rare in today’s world, just another reason he’s so well loved
❤
A new glimpse into Rick’s history. Never knew he was after Tim that early. 😎
This is freaking GOLD,this is better that watching a good race.
You really don't ever know all these people. But with these types of interviews you at least see the Human side of there personalities.
Hendrick does not know it but he got me started in my own autobody shop business by selling me everything from hendrick honda daytona for a really good price and i am greatful
Damn, Dirty Mo's is good content. Well done Dale.
You heard it straight from the fly on the wall right here 👂🏼
Gotta remember Harry Hyde was old school. Southerner, hard ass, that rebel/Confederate attitude. Geoff Bodine from New York, he had that "Yankee" accent vs. that southern accent. It was a marriage made in hell during that era of NASCAR when it was dominated by southern personalities. Great stuff
I like how you pretend that Southerners are more "hard ass" than Yankees. I grew up near where the Bodines did and actually saw Geoff race at a local track when nobody knew who he was. I've now lived in the Deep South for 30 years, and I promise, Yankees are much more "hard ass" than Southerners. Now there might have had some "we don't care how you do it up North" attitude, but southerners are not more "hard ass" as a group.
@@SouthernSkeptic 🤔...Umm, well I'll give ya this, you sure as hell sound lika yankee, juz full of yo' self ain't cha boy 😆
@@Slinger43 huh?
@@SouthernSkeptic from upstate NY too and you are right on with that
@@SJKLR99 Yeah southerners are usually polite and nice.
Great video!!! Amazing to see & hear how laid back & easy going Mr. Hendrick is. Now we need to hear from Roger Penske, PLEASE.
Honest and real - I enjoyed this so much - thanks to the DMM crew for content like this...stuff no other outlet could ever produce, big huge manes yet so humble and real.
Are you sure Junior isn't Ricks son? I'm only kidding of course but dam they are a lot alike. I like them both a ton!!
Jr was close with Ricky Hendrick so I'm pretty sure RH considers him like a son
There's common DNA at that table 🤣🤣🤣
I LOVE this.... Laughing with you guys at 2 am.... nursing a broken leg. Mr. Hendrick is so much fun to listen to along with Jr's questions. So much fun to see this unfold. Thank you for the vids.... Have Fun! Weav
According to a Sept 1986 issue of Grand National Illustrated, it was STP that blocked the Petty/Hendrick deal. STP had little faith in Hendrick's ability to stick.
Mr H had to step in and be the adult around those knuckleheads. Today's kids wouldn't know what hit them if they were to drive with the 80s guys.
Never forget meeting Rick for the first time at the grand opening of his new Honda store in Asheboro in the 80's. He introduced me to Bodine who I thought was kind of ass compared to Rick.
These Mr H videos are fantastic. Shows are always great as well.
Wow. A new respect for Mr Hendrick. What a guy👍🏼🇺🇸
This is freaking GOLD,this is better that watching a good race.
did you know Rick Hendrick was the guy that got indicted and convicted of fraud, money laundering, and bribery - only to have his friends donate to the Clinton library for a convenient pardon? what a big good guy club. :)
These interviews make me glad Junior retired from racing.
I love this so much. Put the whole interview up in one video please.
he was spot on about Bodine
I have to agree 100% on this!
Yup.
And bodine is the ONLY reason there is a Hendricks motorsport
"Prick and Prima Donna" Sounds like Kyle Busch
True but man can he wheel a race car
You’re podcast is so good I can listen online and yet still watch the videos and re listen. I love them and help on the long drives during a work day
Anthony Abernathy learn they difference between “your” and “you’re.”
@@tcmusic6429 The Grammar Police are on the scene.
Life With Lani It’s called being educated. Professionals care about how they sound and speak, apparently that isn’t you.
Life With Lani the lack of proper English in both of these comments lol I highly doubt you were a teacher. 😂😂
@@billybruneriii356 Then I offer my apologies to you.
So that "prick and primadonna" story is where they got the inspiration for that days of thunder scene?
Great to see the legend owner and person Rick Hendricks.. great guest Dale ..
Hendrick no S dummy
Joey Rollins Richard Childress always says HendrickS and it drives me up the wall.
Awesome stuff. If I drove a race car the one person I would want to drive for would be Mr. Rick Hendrick. He just seems like a great person to be around.
Crew chief wasn't wrong about Bodine, either.
This is one of the best Mr.H interviews ever!!
Think Ricky Rudd got under sr skin more than Geoffrey Bodine.
Wonder if dale jr ever sees these replies.
Dale did get rudd on the show.
Let’s just say junior got along a better with rudd than his dad did. :)
"You can take that one to Alaska and it won't check out..." I'm DYING!
Back in the glory days of NASCAR!
I’m not even into racing but I can’t stop watching Junior videos.
Jr...great work. One suggestion, when you reference a photo, throw it up on the screen. It’d be great to see these pics you reference in all your interviews. Still love the interviews. Keep up the good work amigo.
These conversations are priceless. Thanks for the show.
I never cared for Hendrix motorsports, but i really like Rick himself. He's pleasant to listen to.... always soft spoken
HENDRICK
Up here in the northeast, Bodine was known as the: Weasel.
Also known as the Bellingham Flash. He ruined a lot of races in the 70's by running away from the field. I hated him then; now I realize what a driven talent he was. There was Richie Evans, Maynard Troyer, and Geoff Bodine killing it in the 70's. Everyone else was looking for the best finish behind them. He knew how to drive, how to set up a car and how to spend Dick Armstrong's money, and Dick Armstrong knew who to spend it on.
@@SeamusAndrewMurphy My favorite in that time being a Ford fan was Dave Dion.
Great, great, great interview! Man I could listen to these stories from Legends all night long!
Rick the first person i assume who sat with dale on this podcast that is wealthier than jr
Please keep them talking. This stuff is gold. We can't let these stories go untold
That is so true very much needed Dale Jr is awesomeandneeded alot like now!!!
Tim Richmond was a bad man on the track. Would have been the best rivalry ever in Nascar with Dale Sr. had he not gotten sick.
Agreed it would have a fantastic rivalry with the Blue-collar Intimidator and the Charismatic Playboy. Bet they are tearing it up real good in heaven
Not a fan of modern NASCAR but I love the history.
IMO, this is the best show in motor sports. You can tell that Jr. is really into the history of the sport.
Dale havin all these mount rushmores of nascar history could listen everyday....
I believe now we know the story of the team meeting in the movie Days of Thunder
thanks 2 this podcast I didn't know most of that movie was real
@BillyBruner III there is alot of inspiration from 70s and 80s NASCAR with Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise's character) based on Tim Richmond (RIP) with the good looks, long hair and charismatic personality. Rowdy Yates is based on The Intimidator (Also RIP) with the black Chev Lumina accept the film car had Exxon Mobil rather than the Goodwrench sponsorship. Although Dale Snr was approached to appear in the film though
I love this. Jr. is an easy going guy that relaxes the guests and gets them to open up. I love the old stories. I grew up with NASCAR is the 60's and 70's and love it! Well done guys!
I love this Podcast!! By far the best Nascar Podcast out there!! Always been a fan of the Earnhardt's!!
This is why I love that it's online; no FCC regulations regarding the word "prick" :)
You two are doing great inner views. Dale asks money questions, which we don't often hear. Would love to hear more from that angle. Great show!
Dale Jr. Story telling is on a elite level! Lol 👍
I almost pissed my pants laughing
This was such an amazing interview Love it!
Love all these stories that we have never heard from the past!!!
These podcast are so great because dale jr is like it or not is part of the original winston cup family and yea i said winston cup. He can personally relate to the old gaurd as well as this millenial bunch nowadays. He doesnt get offended if tuff things are said bout the old man, shoot he knows better than anybody who dale sr was and how he could be. No bias with jr. I didnt cry when my dad died but wept like a child that faitful sunday when dale died the only way he could have. Daytona 500 last lap turn 4 watching mikey and his boy heading for checkers in his brand new top shelf team cars. Was never a big jr fan, however i have a newfound respect for the man in how damn well he has done with life after his dads death and his own pretty successful driving career. Kudos junebug sr is looking down proud of you bud. Thats all i have to say bout that
Mr H is a Gem. Love the history lesson.
Really like this vid!! God bless Harry Hyde (RIP).
Did the Bodines have any human fans?
Im a huge dale earnhardt fan i still remember his Martinsville win from 2014
How have I been missing this channel!! Love me some Dirty Mo
This interview feels really good to watch... Thanks!!
Love the truth that comes out.
The best NASCAR show on TV. ..Some weeks the best car show on TV. A couple of times the best thing I saw on TV that week.
Great interviews ... I would love to see an episode with Ricky Rudd.
It’s been done!
Dale is a great interviewer and a good person. I got to meet him in Fort Worth years ago. He didn’t seam hurried and answered questions about his Dad and shared a little about him. Great guy!
Rick Hendrick trying to pitch why someone should pick his team. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Funny how I remember watching days of thunder back when it hit theaters and several times since. And I didn't know how closely related the beginning of the show was based on Hendricks start. The sponsor the southern crew chief named Harry and the smart mouth yankee driver that couldn't get along with Harry.
The whole movie is mostly stories that Tom Cruise and (the screenwriter) Robert Towne heard from drivers, chiefs and owners throughout NASCAR.
BELIEVE IT OR NOT... IN 1982 I WAS AT THE DRAG BOAT RACE in Litchfield, IL on Lake Lou Yaeger when Jimmy Wright lost his life in the "Nitro Fever" boat owned by Rick Hendrick. Wright/Nitro Fever raced in the Blown Fuel Hydro Class (Nitro). My Dad was a Drag Boat Racer in the "Blown Alcohol Flat" division at the same event and our "Pit Spots" were right next to each other. As you see with NHRA drag cars, the drag boats all had parachutes that deployed after the finish line to slow them down quickly. That day, my Dad had already finished his race, so we were sitting on the bank of the lake at the finish line, watching the BFH class boats race. I will NEVER forget Jimmy's wreck. He crossed the finish line at about 213-215 mph .....but his parachute did not open..... The boat drove straight into the bank on the opposite side of the lake, completely burying the fork shaped part of the boat and threw Jimmy up into the trees on shore. It was AWFUL!! I was just 12 years old at the time and immediately started sobbing & having a complete panic attack. I remember my Dad picked me up to comfort me and I started begging him "PLEASE DADDY, DON'T RACE ANYMORE! I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE TOO!" That race was in September and the last of the season. Over the winter of 1983, my Dad decided to retire from racing. Jimmy Wright's wreck had a profound affect on all of us.
Love it! Can't get enough of those type of conversations. Thanks so much👍🏁🏁🏁
The ubiquitous cost osmotically radiate because ukrainian distinctly shiver through a moldy freckle. disgusted, stimulating pedestrian
Love your Show Dale Aloha from Hawaii 🤙🏻
Yep, "Prick and Primadonna" just about cover the 5 driver. It woulda been Big fun to have been at the table listening to that and watching Blowdine's face sour up Lol 🙂.
great stuff !!!! the back story as mr.myers will say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great interview. I really love watching this show.
bobby ptrotested cale and richard that day. he said they were pulling him 6 lengths down the straight. bobby finished 3rd behind cale and richard. ok, cale had an illegal air induction setup, petty had the big motor with left side tires on the right. but yet they didnt change the finishing order= politics
How funny is that ( Your a prick and a pre Madonna and I love Rick more than I hate you) 😂😂😂😂 love that!
Just about ever body likes Rick Hendrick I no I do. And he's buying manager Dale good people
Anything over 90/100mph is hauling ass to 95% why go 200mph? More 1mile tracks
I know Rick and obviously Jr but who is the other guy? He's always on this podcast. What's his story?
Dale Jrs PR guy aka handler while he was racing. Makes sure he makes his sponsor appearances on time, handles logistics from rental cars, flights etc. And hes his buddy.
Best NASCAR podcast and show by far!
Rick drove an unblown gas hydro called "Preperation H"
LIVE THIS STUFF !!!!!!!
Gotta love these stories 😊 just classic stuff 😊
Robert Gee was raised in lunenburg county VA not far from small town of Dundas,
Great interview guys! You done good.
NASCAR could be cheap and Americans true pass time
Love these stories..... Keep it up....
Love your interviews
LOVE DALE JR AND RICK HENDRICK WITH ALL MY HEART
Ya gotta love mr H
One of my favorite UA-cam channels!! Love these videos.
Mr Hendricks Nascar will go alot farther alot longer if you make NASCARS end result a asset such as making some races where you only get 40 gallons of fuel whoever makes it the farthest with the 40 gallons WINS. THE DATA IS PRICELESS
Mr Rick needs to thank Mr. Clinton...
Joe Gibbs was in drag racing before he was in NASCAR; think he's done a little good. Also some guy named Roush.........
Having likable and appearance of a humbled personality is not the same as having character and a moral compass. Most people don’t remember or really understand the ramifications of Rick Hendrick’s felonious and deliberate actions that landed him in federal prison. By bribing Honda executives, he got a larger allotment of cars. That meant his competitors got fewer cars. By having fewer cars to sell, the value of their businesses declined.....and Rick was in full acquisition mode buying every family owned dealership he could find....and he was getting them at a deflated value that he caused.
