A priest said "celibacy is not natural....it is supernatural"
The order God created doesn’t exclude marriage for non-monastic religious. The religious orders have their missions on the front lines; dioceses are for the stability of their churches and if the bishop or priest would have a wife and children, and that important source of God’s love, then the bishop or priest should be allowed it. Saint Joseph was called to serve Mary after she received her calling. He knew what he was getting into and I think that he could have had conjugal relations with Saint Mary, but her pure love and the grace of Jesus always so thoroughly satisfied Joseph and Mary they stayed chaste in their marriage.
Eastern Rite Catholic Priests can be married before ordination.
It's unfortunate
I went to a byzantine church and was very surprised when I found out they could be married! I'm roman. Different, I guess and it's a much much smaller parish.
@jobo8143: a clarification on Byzantine priests- Byzantine Catholic married men may become priests, but once a Byzantine Catholic priest is ordained to the priesthood, there is no sacramental marriage. In other words, a celibate Byzantine Catholic priest cannot marry once he has received ordination.
It’s a very important distinction to understand.

As Scripture says, Adam was at last overjoyed to have Eve, bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. Secular bishops and priests cannot be denied the love of wife and children, because they don’t have a religious order and brothers at hand to encourage each other in the struggle. The wife could be a provisional deaconess as part of her marriage to the bishop and with no faculties, but a powerful woman indeed, as Saint Mary.
In the Bible belt, I know lots of ministers with families. The people of God suffer and so does the family. Ministers aren't even needed to administer sacraments. A local minister I had a sick child. He took time off to be with his family! Since all he did was preach, others could do it for him. Catholic priests are not simply ministers.
@@user-re2ss3jn8w It’s unjust and harmful to the Church to restrict diocesan bishops and priests from the choice of participating in a loving marriage (sacrament) with good catholic women. Never mind all the possible evils, it’s about all things being possible with God.
Priests are already spread thin. You think if they are married, not using contraceptives, have 10 children will have a helpmate! You must not be married.
These Men chosen by Christ fir His Priests are a bit different physicaly for this life as a Priest anyway. The vow of celibacy is no hardship since thier love for the Church is stronger in the Spirit that was given. The Priest is tougher than most men too like Jesus. I'm sure there are sime men Ordained that should have NEVER been Priests but then there a men and women that should NEVER get married either, and some that will make great immages if Marriage to be great parents. Either way Both Sacraments are needed to give life to the Church.
If someone leaves the priesthood and remains a practicing carholic can thet marry in the church? I am confused because I think I know someone that has done this

RELIGIOUS have their fellow brothers and sisters and their communal charism to keep them in God’s love. Jewish men, the descendants of Levi, who are meant to be priests, can only accept the Catholic vocation if they can bring their wives AND their sons can also become priests and have their own families.
You don't think Jesus will return unless priests marry! Read the New Testament. That is not in there. Jesus was celebate. We can't make up our own religion, we need to study, pray and follow the Church, the scriptures and tradition.
@@user-re2ss3jn8w Yes, study the Scriptures. God made them male and female in order to reflect his image. Just diocesan religious should be allowed marriage and religious orders continue in poverty, chastity, obedience.

Priest aren't the only ones called to celebacy. People who suffer from ssa are called to celebacy as part of the cross they are given to carry. It's not as hard as it seems when God's grace and your gardian angel are there to help you resist the temptations. Especially when you Mary involved. She is an awesome comfort to keep you close to Jesus.
