- It's been a couple of years since my Real McCoy's A2 leather jacket review and can easily say this jacket is holding up amazingly. The most asked question I get about the jacket is how I wear it and what I wear it with. So here's a small update on how it has been going and what I wear it with (when I get a chance to!)

You only get one go at life, make the most of it and wear all the jackets! I love the look of this jacket, but follow your heart on it, life’s too short to not wear what you love AND wear new things.
Awesome A-2 jacket. It’s iconic and rich in history. I would treat the leather so that it doesn’t dry out which is damaging to leather.
I think this jacket looks fantastic, especially with the hoodie like you have it. I’m honestly surprised anyone would not like this look.
DO NOT SELL THIS JACKET. It's only just starting to soften, mould and drape nicely, looking wicked, stick with it. Sorry to say it but it's time to ignore the Fiancee on this one. Add that black moto jacket you're after on top of this, not instead, even if it means saving for a while. Then you'll truly have all bases covered.

That's an awesome jacket. I keep thinking about getting one but haven't pulled the trigger yet (mainly due to the price). I would wear it with either just a t-shirt or a flannel.

Looks great with the hoodie. Think you can do a video on what you wear to the office? I usually wear a checked flannel/supply jacket as there’s no formal dress code at my office but noticing more people starting to lean into smarter business wear so looking for new ideas of what to go in wearing. I think it looks really good. I personally love (and own) the J-24 from The Real McCoys and the Double Helix Works Western Pioneer. I'm personally eying the Flat Head Single Rider jacket as well. Same quality as The Real McCoy but less of a motorcycle jacket (like my J-24).
Its just breaking in. Horse is the hide the makers originally wanted because of its durability. The reason you find the collar uncomfortable while seated is because of the collar stand. All Rough Wear contracts have it. Its a separate strip of leather between the collar and body of the jacket. Its much more appealing in my opinion. It will relax with wear and age. You might want to try what we A-2 fans call the hot water treatment or HWT. Wear it in the shower with moderately hot water. Allow a good coverage as if caught in a downpour. DON'T soak it...just a few moments under the spray. Then wear it around the house and yard as it dries. Even take a nap in it. You'll find it will fit like a glove and soften overall. Try a couple treatments...light water coverage each time.
As for the woman's opinion...stand your ground. Its YOUR jacket and style. How much input does she let you on her clothing choices?
She'll soften too...just like the leather. Make it your definition.
I had a fiance that took one of mine after the breakup. They don't like admitting its an image they do like. But it gave me satisfaction she never let go of the connection of me and my A-2.
I have 2 One I wear like a regular jacket, The other I wear when I work outside. I also dragged it behind my car on a gravel road to age it , Mine are very heavy leather
It looks great at you. First time i thought it´s a bit small. Espacially from the side at the length. Indeed it is the cut. But at the end it looks perfectly!
That’s where you went wrong my friend… you’re giving your fiancés opinions the power to actually dictate what you wear. A woman wants a man, if you LOVE the jacket, wear it! You’ll find if you keep wearing it and own it, she’ll come around and say “you know that jackets growing in me, it looks nice” this is coming from experience, You can’t give her all that control on trivial things… big decisions, sure, but not trivial ones. If you own it, she’ll love it
She doesn't want him to wear it cause the jacket looks good and makes him look great, bad boy/military style! I wear leather jackets with shirts at office, looks fantastic!

For some reason I find this type of jacket harder to wear as well. I picked up the camo parachute lined one from the real mccoys UK and ended up returning it. In its place I got a more “normal” Flat Head leather jacket and love it. Also, found the ribbing quite itchy
Nice but I would want the hand warmer pockets as well. I realize that isn't proper for an A2 but I like them.
It's really a great looking jacket. You could try wearing it with a pair of dark wash or medium wash jeans with Chelsea boots.
The knits still look great considering. I bought an AVI A2 (admittedly cheaper than something like this) three months ago. and the pilling is already extremely unsightly.
A-2s are getting ready to come back! The many movies of the 80s and 90s that featured this style of jacket made it a fashion staple for many years. It's been out of the mainstream for a while, but Spielberg's "Masters of the Air" is about to reintroduce it all over again. I can think of few things as timeless and cool as a proper A-2---just picture that young airman from 1942...jacket zipped up half way, floppy service cap cocked to one side, hands in his trouser pockets....NOTHING...COOLER...Keep it!
I highly recommend the Flat Head Single Rider. I picked one up last week from Rivet and Hide, and the Shinki they use is next level. Thick but very pliable compared to what RMC uses. It has that rich aroma, and the black is actually a warm black (a very very deep brown black). I know you’ve mentioned this one before …. DO IT, and keep the A2 for dog walks (kidding)😅
One day mate haha. I've seen Danny's from R&H and his is nicely worn in and fading already. They just look so great!
It looks great and fits you well. You should wear it more. It's just breaking in and draping better. Sitting down in it while it's zipped up can help break in the front - so wear it on the couch. Maybe it'll help your fiance get used to it as well!
My girlfriend hates my leather jacket too. It's so sad.

Saw the video. Suggestion for wearing the collar: pilots would raise the back tigjt against the neck and then, with thumbs on each side, pull down the flaps inwardly as if to tuck in. The leather wings will eventually be trained to lay properly and jacket will look great with an army style scarf.

I really like how it fits you. I belive it will fit even better when you ware it zipped up as well. I feel than chest get shape of your body more so it fits even more to the body unzipped

If you don't want to use A rough approach and you really want to age this A-2 jacket, wear it over A thick sweater during fall and winter naps.
Wearing a nap for two or three months can result in the aging effect of three to four years of daily wear.
My J Crew Stockton leather jacket also lacks hand warmer pockets. It is a bit aggravating.
That A-2 looks great. You pushed me to buy my own, they’re really great looking jackets that are extremely comfortable like to the L2-b bomber jacket, but versatile to dress casual or dressier like the 1930’s cafe racer style that nail head sells. You’ll stand out for sure, but that’s because you’re not wearing your average Joe’s Perfecto Jacket. You made a really great investment on this one. It’s definitely a timeless jacket. I will say get the nailhead too or go with Aero Leather since they’re a little bit less expensive. I got both the A-2 from Buzz Rickson in Seal Brown and the Aero Leather “Sheene” second hand and they are great jackets.

Which model is that? mj18101 or mj22001. I am 186 cm tall and weight 83 kg. Mine is 42 and looks a bit small in my opinion. The A2 looks beautiful at you. ❤
It opens more at the waist when unzipped because of the wool knits at the waist. Enough wear and it will relax a bit.
What weight are you ? I'm 12 stone with a 40 chest would the 42 fit ok
Why don't you contact Rocka's Flight Kackets or Anneke Helleman and get it painted in a WW2 bomber crew style.

Hey it look looks awesome on ya. Guy to guy, she’s wrong. It’s taking so long to break in because you’re not wearing it enough. Sleep in it. She’ll love that😂 The flannel looks great. I’m going to try that mix up. Thin sweatshirts are great too. Cheap khaki chinos are a great wear pants wise. Hey it reminds me of a movie where this guy’s fiancé kept telling him his feet stank. He got desperate and was in a pharmacy. Took off his shoe and asked the pharmacist if he thought they did. Pharmacist said not at all, asked someone else too they said no. Maybe you’re being gas lit. It looks good maybe she doesn’t like that. Just a thought.

Great vid. Wonder if the jacket wears like my jeans, butt first haha. We arent indiana jones falling in myan temples so our jackets dont get as scuffed and instead, wear in the cuff. Dope jacket, wear it out w the wife for me

She hasn't got the leather bug yet. Amelia Earhart still inspires fashion today with her flight jackets. Get her a leather jacket and convince her she looks great in it. As she starts wearing one she'll give you less stick.

a bought a tan leather steerhide a2 schott jacket with the bellows on the back from flip of Hollywood second hand about 35 years ago indestructible, still in great condition, almost new fur press stud collar, just prefer those press studs on the schott jackets, my wife said sell it you are to old the wear it, so a did on ebay to some fellow from japan for 60 pound, also my sheepskin ww2 RAF flying jacket, in mint condition for age, it was really heavy, sold for 40 pound, not listen to her again, so a bought a red fur Irwin ww2 new jacket cost a lot the she said that'll looks a lot better because its new , that's great, just gave away 2 jackets worth a grand, stupid woman

Hahah, I think it's more that I just wear it around the house and our area. Also, she met me years ago when I never wore any types of leather jackets. So probably seems 'not like me'. I say get it! I still wear mine regardless!
