  • Mental Health Awareness Month is indeed in May however October holds a more personal significance for me when it comes to the awareness of mental health and the issues surrounding it. Understandably this is not a video for everyone if you don't like this kind of video feel free to skip it.

Scarlet to you… she was Maysie for me for 10 years, She still looks like she did when I let her go, you enjoy her and if you need or want to talk about her history get in touch, regards Karl.

Trust me we need to have a chat so many questions! Especially when your mate has just informed me about the gap year owner having an *cough* issue that has already answered a question I've often wondered why I found white paint under the passenger door 😂. I'm slowly but surely taking care of her, rust is going to be a big thing in the future to get dealt with but it will happen 🙂

Even those who experience the same medically I don't think can ever feel the same as the next person. The feeling a car gives isn't something easily explained

    • @CarBore

Couldn't agree more! It's certainly true that if you have to explain it to someone you'd be there a good long while 😂 My Mrs for example she just never will get it!

Best thing I've watched in a very long time my friend. I can somewhat relate, ive dealt with severe anxiety since i can remember, and that turned into self medicating a few years back. To the point i was in deep, full on junkie. Hard to admit and embarrassing. Dont kno if my project car cured me but its damn sure given me something to do that i enjoy and not think about other things, im about 6 months clean now. Your not alone, there were times i didnt really want to be here any longer. I want you to know that your video left an impression on me and i appreciate you opening up and making it. Feels good to know were not alone at times, you know.

Thanks for sharing that Trav! You should be proud of yourself not embarrassed, you've pulled yourself through a real tricky time. Props to you on that it cannot have been easy I know how hard it is to resist that kind of thing. I think it's healthy to have the car in all honesty, absolutely don't think they are a cure but I do believe they can help ❤️

@@CarBore it's an everyday battle, just know your not alone. You mentioned your family, that's good you've got people to lean on when need be. Other people go through it to, i think it's important for us all to realize that. That were not alone, that was a big one for me at least because it can be a very lonely separated on your own kind of feeling. Thank you for making this video brother

Not at all sir no need to thank me for it. More importantly thank you for sharing! Always a difficult thing to do. Its that macho man syndrome that you have to get over when telling the family etc but as you say there is people who don’t even have that. I’d like to think in that case they’d find someone who can and will listen to them and help however possible. ❤️

Mr Adair! Hope you're well sir!.... Agreed, not something I've done or discussed in a long time to be honest, I was hanging off from posting anything on it until I reached the 2 year mark. Thought a Monday night release time would fit the bill as well, the second most depressing night of the week 😂

I get a lot of joy from watching your videos Elliot I had no idea you had been dealing with this. You certainly don't let it get in the way of what you are doing on here. Take care of you and your family mate everything else doesn't matter. That is the best advice I could give to anyone.

    • @CarBore

Whatever happened that evening changed you. It was the beginning of you getting to grips with things. The dark places are not easy to describe.....but you now have more light than dark. Every day that passes is another day of distance from your darkest time. Sometimes I still feel as though there is no point.....but as I feel like this I know it will pass as I'm sure you do now. It is this knowing that allows you to realise how bad things were but how good they are now. You'll be fine....you are conquering your demons. Scarlet has been a therapy....a focus.....something to do tomorrow. Whatever you are doing keep doing it my friend.

    • @CarBore
      @CarBore  2 роки тому

Totally agree sir! Still have those days as well. Currently had a few of them recently to be honest where you just think it’s all against you and just not worth bothering but the good thing is being able to recognise that obviously that’s not the case. Hard to see that some times though. Hope you’re okay?!

True that, sometimes I like the cold days and darker night but usually when you don't need to go out, having to go to work and all that thought makes it harder to take. Won't be long till it's back to lighter days again though seems to come round quicker and quicker every year.

You've no idea how excited you and your friend messaging me tonight has made me! I have to apologise right off the bat Karl for any of my "previous owner" bashings in earlier videos if you ever grind your teeth to watch any 😂😂😂 I've always wanted to meet the '10 year owner' just because there seemed to be a similar love for the car there. Especially when you look into the paperwork.
Your Maysie - Great name choice btw - became my Scarlet and has gave me no end of joy over the last few years. It'll probably be a sore spot but thank you a million times thank you for parting with her...... Couldn't imagine not having the car now she is part of the family (I know thats extreme but true regardless how sad that might be) literally 2 weeks away from making my 3 year anniversary video with the car. How fitting!

lol on the "previous owner" thing the only thing I had a real moan about is the chrome 😂 it's personal choice there though but the glue used on some of that stuff, ruddy hell it wasn't meant to come back off! 😂 All good fun though and part of the story 😁 I knew she had the 'gap year' owner whos also commented on a video or 2 Don't think he put many miles on her but I knew nothing about the damage 😢 I'm guessing she had a replacement passenger door? everything else looks pretty straight. Would never have known she'd been in a bit of a bash otherwise.
