This channel will not be translated. We will publish videos that are difficult to translate. (Daily videos, lectures, etc.) Japanese is very difficult and there are many words. I don't have enough time to edit. sorry

Sometimes Hamano-kaicho talks a lot of sense, other times, it's less clear what he's trying to communicate!
I learned some interesting things though - in no particular order:
    - The Asakusa market used to be only bonsai, but now they have all sorts of flowers. Such was the era of bonsai back then when people used to eat out and buy bonsai.
    - Red pines are easier to grow, more forgiving and less masculine than Black Pines.
    - Satsuki Azaleas never grow to more than 100 years old. In fact, you'll be lucky to get a few decades out of them. The bonsai growers in Omiya know this so don't sell them because buyers return them within ten years to complain!
    - The strongest growth area of a red pine is the canopy. The strongest area for an Satsuki Azalea is the lower branches.
    - You can remove the old bark on a red pine to expose the underlying red bark. However never do this on a black pine!
    - Brushing Japanese White Pines strengthens the branches and makes the needles less susceptible to damage when wiring. Tidy their foliage like this, rather than carefully removing needles, which can weaken the tree by letting bacteria(?) in.
    - Chinese junipers don't have good nebari generally. If they have, they are very expensive.
    - The most important thing for Japanese White Pines is the foliage.
    - For needle junipers, don't clean or shorten the extending shoots, brush using a root hook from the inside to remove old inner needles. This opens up light into the interior of the tree so that more buds will form and branches will grow.
