Interesting video and a good watch. Snooker cues are all about the age of the wood, the best cues only use ash or maple for the main cue, the ash or maple is aged, ergo, the wood has done all the twisting and bending, kinking it will ever do by the time the wood is chosen to make a snooker cue.
These cues in the video are cheap and cheaply made, they will bend, twist, split and basically deteriorate rapidly, however, one has to admire the process employed here in making them.
This is how inferior, low grade snooker cues are made (and in the dirt).
Would be good enough for me to play a round or two!

Dreadful working conditions! Squat in the dirt absent even a basic bench to place the work on and stool to sit on the work appears mind-blowingly humdrum if not inhuman yet workers seem happy to put up with such conditions. No gloves no masks open flip-flops on the earthen floor. God knows what the pay is. It's gotta be low considering the number of stages and workers involved in the production of what appears to be an inexpensive billiard cue. How effective the manual method of straightening the wood is especially as it ages is anybodies guess. Oh, and never ask if you can use the bathroom. All of that said the ingenuity and likability of these hardworking guys is incredible.

The guy running the jointer must not have seen what happens when your robe gets pulled into a jointer... If I lived wherever this is, I'd probably work there. But I like a short sleeve shirt and boots.
