I think its interesting how XcQ and Poke focus so much on the player, when watching the players he is ranked up against is more of an indicator of rank than the player themselves.

If we switched perspective to the other player would you think that the previous POV's gameplay was more valid? Logically, the person we're watching is just as likely to be indicative of the rank than any other perspective. I think we're biased to assume that the person we're watching is always moving up or down in rank and everybody else is hardstuck in that rank, but they're just as likely to be moving in rank as the POV we're watching.

One way to determine the level of a chess match is by looking at how chaotic it is and the level of blunder. High level matches are all positional that it's almost boring because of the precision, kinda like a top-level LoL w/ no action. Lower level on the other hand, are chaotic and highly focused on the offense, plus the blunders are just straight up free pieces.
Yeah I was annoyed at how xQc missed all the blunders and said 1300-1500 to a game with mistakes someone rated 1000 wouldn't make

i hate every low rank streamer that does a rank guess for either cs or valorant. it's not a checklist of things a player has to do in order to be "high elo", literally just look at the way theyre moving their mouse, enemy positioning, and their overall movement and strafing effectiveness. there's a huge difference between low elo that has zero, mid elo that has some but could be better, and high elo which looks flawless. like xqc said, mannerisms. even radiants/faceit lvl 10s make tiny simple mistakes which some people (like xqc who is plat in valorant) think are huge oversights but in the end don't matter.
oh, he knows how to plant the bomb! oh he knows how to look at the minimap! (exaggeration) such a dumb way of looking at things
the FPS rankdles were more a reflection of what xqc knows about how ranks should look (a very blurred reflection) and what he thinks is the right thing to do.
if youre confused, look at a plat clip. you can immediately tell even just by a slight swipe of a mouse.
also some of these clips were kinda biased. like the 4 kill one tap on breeze, that was probably just a eco round. it's not hard to get to immortal either with subpar aim, I could not warmup for a whole week and just rely on my general gamesense to survive in high immo (and probably get a clip like that once every couple of weeks which might seem special but not so much for the rank)

I hate " guess my rank videos" cause even silvers can have challenger moment sometimes (being super lucky) so its super hard to guess correct rank of players from short clips,, cause players are always sharing best plays they did = its not how they play normally

The rocket league ones were so bad. It was a diamond (in 1s, which is harder) who uploads the worst clip ever then later there's a diamond (in 2s, the easiest mode) who uploads the best clip he's ever hit in his life.

League of legends gameplay always puts me to sleep
Ive been playing rocket league for 6 years and couldnt guess a single one of the ranks. Those were the worst clips for guessing someones rank Ive ever seen out of any game except maybe the valorant immortal one.
I don't get how ppl were bashing on the first clip? Ain't no shot a gold would know how to execute that redirect of the wall and challenge correctly there.
