Discontinuing the use of tampons was the best decision I ever made!!! A lot of the uncomfortable symptoms I was having disappeared when I stopped using them. I feel "cleaner" with a pad honestly. but we all make choices for ourselves I would just say I hope you try and find some organic brands.

I lost my mom to cancer right before I got my period at 12. I love hearing how your mom taught you two how to do this. I always wished I had the experience you did. As a mom now I made sure to teach my daughter everything I learned. Great job guys.

Personal share and I’m sure some people will truly appreciate! Loved the support from Mom, I was young as well and my mom showed me how too! Never had to deal with the diaper print lol. It really is like a whole new world once I started using tampons! I didn't start until college and I haven't looked back since. I'm not going to lie, my first tampon experience was a stressful mess 😅.

I know when I first saw a pad I was so depressed, that is a mattress. When I learned about tampons I was delighted. Easier to carry, easier to wear and gym days were easier.

I love this! As someone who was on the swim team from middle school to high school there was no other choice but to wear tampons. Several ladies in sports are told to wear tampons and educating young ladies about tampons is so important! I wonder if anyone else went through other girls shaming them for using tampons in high school? I used to be told it was only for girls that had sex or were “lose”.
Switching to tampons was so freeing for me. I didn't start using them till college, and I wondered why I waited so long. I had a heavy flow, and when wearing pads, I was in constant fear that my pad would leak while in public. At night, I had to sleep sitting upright just to prevent leaks outside an overnight size pad. Using tampons also meant that I didn't have to plan vacations around my period or miss out on activities because I was wearing a pad. No more messy clean-up with every bathroom trip and no more odor! Tampons were really a game changer for me.

Now they have this "organic" line which I don't trust from them and which means they knew all along that their original line was toxic and has been killing females and causing damage to their reproductive systems for decades. I no longer have that problem but when I first tried them I never looked back. It was cleaner to me more sanitary and comfortable. Pads after awhile are uncomfortable so glad I made the change at that time.

Great job educating others on something that alot of young ladies and women have questionds on. I've been using them for a long time and I too was able to speak to my mommie about it before trying them out. Like mom said if your daughter can't come to u then who will she go to? FACTS!!!

Tampons made feel cleaner, with sports and activities (active) they are great. "O God it's me Margaret" by Judy Blume (book) helped me a lot and my mother.

I sat my twins down at 8yrs,and had my little visual models after doing research. It took me much longer to get into the conversation about tampons because my mom had tried to deter me from using it when I was in my teenage years, but then I was curious and started using it later on while I was in my twenties. Because I was told that I was too young to use tampons and I believe it, I did not introduce it to my girls until later on but then they found out before I could do the introduction, and then we talked about it. With me being a very young mom we taught each other things that we needed to know as young ladies. It's good to read,do research,and find out facts before coming to conclusions about things that could help or harm us as women. That sanitary belt thing was a mess way back in the day, I used it for maybe two weeks and gave up because it was hard to keep that thing in place,and when you want to be young and free and jump all over the place,that does not work. I was so over the moon excited when they came up with the Tampax pads that you stick into your underwear, then when tampons came around I got more freedom because it meant that I can get into the pool. I started my cycle at 11 and used pads until I was 16. I HATED pads because they made me feel so uncomfortable! My first time using a tampon I tried a cardboard one and when I tell you it was TERRIBLE! Lol Thank God I found out about the plastic ones! I've been using tampons ever since.
I recommend using Rael or Honeypot menstrual products. Since I transitioned to organic pads my periods have been lighter and more comfortable. I went from not being able to function for a day or two, because of how severe my periods were, to going to the gym on day 1. Just thought I'd share this with y'all since I was using Tampax and Always pads prior.

Menstrual cups are game changers as well! I like Soft cups and diva cups. Tampons and cups also help a woman identify her own anatomy.
I’m 26. Pads are my thing. I ONLY wear a tampon if I’m going to be sitting for a long period of time, weddings, funerals, etc...2-3 hour max ... one box legit will last me at least a year if not longer.
Anywho, wanted to comment on the beautiful and obvious relationship with you all have with your mom. A girls dream! My mom passed when I was 11 & my cycle started 2 months later. I pray to have this same relationship & openness with my own children. I have 5 .. 2g & 3b 💗🙌🏾😘
I was right there in the same boat as your mom before doing my own research. Tampons are definitely more convenient and does make you feel cleaner compared to pads. I also did notice a difference in regular and organic tampons! Try the L. Organic cotton tampons and liners from target. Complete game changer.

I used to use tampons and they were convenient. I still use them sometimes to workout, I don’t want to wear a pad to workout but I am one of those people who became concerned about the bleach and chemicals used to make tampons and if inserting them meant that I would absorb some of the chemicals. Therefore I switched back to pads primarily. People were saying they got toxic shock syndrome from tampons. Now, I have been hearing about a menstrual cup and wonder if anyone on this platform has experience with those. Kendra and Kelsey I love your relationship with each other and your relationship with your mom!

I absolutely adore you guys and the transparency of this video. I also had a similar experience with my mom on how to use s tampon lol. It was the summer before 7th grade and I was very excited about going to the amusement park and my cycle came on. Being s person who loves being in the water I wanted a quick fix to being able to still enjoy the park.

didn't start wearing tampons until boot camp @ 17 yo...
but then after 27 years found out that tampax ("america's favorite") were WAY TOO BIG and LONG and thats why it wasn't working well for me...
then fell in love with smaller o.b tampons....
then found out all the terrible things in pads and tampons that are not good for your health, causes fibroid and many a things...
nope im back on pads but organic pads... WILL NEVER GO BACK!
still looking for a good fit organic tampon for pool and white jeans days but periods have been shorter, lighter and not painful at all after switching to organic cotton pads...
oh yeah... and make sure you change your diet... it goes a long way for avoiding a hemorrhaging period
Wow I wish I had the relationship with my mother that you guys have because my mother was like your moms mom and didn’t talk to me about tampons, I bought some one time back in the day an it was the card board applicator and not knowing what to do I kept that cardboard in and wore it for 2 hours and it was the most uncomfortable 2 hrs in my life at the time, and I took that thing off an ever wore one again. I didn’t realize I wasn’t supposed to keep that cardboard in until years later when I over heard some woman talking about it, I felt so dumb, but that is why it is important to have that kind of relationship so you can ask questions, so you guys are blessed

At 53 I can actually say I never had any problems. I didn't start wearing them until my mid 20's. There wasn't other options during that time as far as organic. I wore both because of heavy cycles. Wearing bulky pads were uncomfortable, until they came out with thinner ones. Good topic.

I actually got my period when I was about 10 as well. I think it was the week before my 11th Birthday. I hated pads. Like hated them with a passion. I felt like they moved too much and never felt clean to me. I started using tampons as soon as I wasn’t embarrassed to buy my own feminine products, so around about 14 or 15. It was the best decision I ever made.

I used tampons when I was in high school when I cheered. I stop lord using them when I graduated high school. My aunt used to buy me and my sister bulk size boxes. My Mom did educate us in them. She made us read the inserts that came in the box. I did feel cleaner then. I tried to use one recently and I immediately felt nauseous. Plastic is best.

I've been using both because I wanted my kids to learn how to swim because I wanted to get in water since I live on the coast. My kids have also been appreciative because I put them in swim and classes
