  • There's no doubt Old Forester 1924 is a great bourbon, it's just overpriced and allocated. Not to worry though! I walk you through my (long) process of coming up with blends using available, off the shelf bourbons that meet or beat Old Forester 1924! Stick around for the video, and blend along with me.

I'd like to see a side-by-side comparison of Trail's End 10, Eastside 12, and 1910. Wouldn't have to be blind.

@BeThereAgainProductions. We’ll have to try those three together.
      We did do a blind with Trial’s End 10, Eastside 12, OF 1924, KC12, Henry McKenna 10

Seems like that Eastside 12 is fairly easy to find in Oregon. You've got me wanting a bottle but, to my surprise as someone living outside Oregon, I can't find it *anywhere* . Can't find a single retailer outside Oregon who has it.

@BeThereAgain_BestServedNeat That’s a bummer it’s not available now in other markets. I looks like it was a 2021 release, so probably not too many bottles out there now. I went to Eastside Distilling’s website, and it looks like it is available for purchase directly from them. Only thing is we pay $60 in Oregon and it’s $100 on their website.

If anyone orders from Eastside Distilling's website I'd very much appreciate any feedback as to how it went (such as tracking, delivery time, packaging).

Have you tried the charred oak spirals? Drop in bottle for two weeks (or more) adds more complexity and age fast. Saw from blending on Drinking Buddy channel and been using/really like experimenting with them. And I’m always letting any blend sit for 2 weeks to marry. BTW, your Weller12 blend w/ oak spiral is nearly identical

@Gehly I actually just put a half a spiral in two different bottles of bourbon that have good flavor, but aren’t much older than 2yrs. I’m curious how they turn out. Tonight will be one week. I’m going to pour a sample each week for a bit and then compare them. If I like the results, I’ll probably toast and char some oak I have and do it on other bourbons.
I’m going to have to try it on the Weller 12yr blend.
Next week I have a video coming out of another home aging experiment that should mimic aging in a 53 gallon barrels (I hope)

@@TheDramDiaries i just bought level 3 char spirals off Amazon and they work great for $16/4pack. Anxious to see those videos to see how turns out. My Midnight and Bowman Bros combo w/ one is killer and identical to my real deal W12

@Gehly That’s awesome! I’m definitely felt going to try it. How long did you leave it in the Midnight/Bowman mix?
